If the design + planning process was as great as the construction/final product, we'd offer 5-star review. In short: If you're executing an exceedingly simple project, maybe this company is fine for you. After all, the construction went well and we love our pool so far! If you care about a stellar & rigorous design process with great mockups, and fast, thorough communication--then find a company that offers a dedicated design/planning project manager for Pre-construction (not just a Construction-Phase project manager). We had multiple generous onsite visits up front, so that we could ask lots of questions. After we signed a contract, the process worsened. Instead of being supported by a dedicated Project Manager for the massive pre-construction/design phase, we were communicating directly with one of the company's super-busy owners. No hard feelings and we wish everyone at TTP well! Their operation needs more support for planning, design, communication, and pre-construction phases. Here's where we struggled with our project: 1) Communication: When we first contacted the company, they told us they couldn't offer a built-in hot tub. At an onsite visit months later (5/22) they said the same--and suggested we just buy a heater and heat the entire pool. We declined. Weeks later, we signed a contract, and right after that, we randomly saw on their social media a project with a built-in hot tub. Which required a re-design process. 2) Planning and pricing info: * In July, we agreed to a final pool + deck design. In August, we asked if we could make the pool 1 foot longer, and 1 foot deeper--and asked how that would impact the project. In all the communications during August, no one responded with a cost or cost-estimate. Three months passed. No mention of an estimate. * Months later, in mid November--right before construction and in a hurry to begin--they revealed that the size change increased the price by more than $9,000 dollars :/ * Simultaneously, the deck portion of our project was canceled. Because during that same week--just before construction--we luckily met with a random landscaper that had worked with Texas Tiny Pools. We showed the landscaper the plans and they flagged that the deck would conflict with a key walkway on our property. * When we expressed worry and concern about the late-game communication on pricing, enlarged overall cost, and problematic deck plan--Texas Tiny Pools offered a short apology, a lengthy defense, and said that they'd waive their design-change fee and allow us to cancel the deck without a fee. It helped bring the cost back down, but the sliding deck was literally the only reason we worked with them to begin with, so that was disappointing. 3) Design details: The third and last issue was just a minor design disappointment. We paid extra for a tiled accent wall. The installers did a nice job laying all the tile... but when we asked how they planned to conceal the less-finished looking edges of the accent tile--they said they had no plan of concealing those edges, because we didn't buy the special "edging pieces." As customers who've never built or designed a hot tub, I can't imagine why we'd be expected to know that a special finishing/edging type of tile should have been included in the tile order. TTP should develop some design "intake forms" to catch details like that.

Wow, these guys are awesome. I had a lawn service blow a ton of lawn debris into my pool, leaves,…read moredirt, trash, you name it. I sent out a message on Yelp to 10 different pool companies. No one else could come out for a week or two. These guys were here and working on it the same afternoon. They got all the debris out, vacuumed the entire thing, cleaned the filter cartridge, emptied our own vacuum bag, and all for a very good rate. We expected with how bad it was, it would be way more expensive. To make a long story short, I am super happy with their work. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Michael personally came to inspect the job and discussed several options, with an eye towards keeping it as affordable as possible. He and his crew kept us in constant communication, and showed up on site when they said they would. The leaks were completely resolved and they applied a new stucco surface coat to wrap up the job. For the coping stones, the aesthetic of the grout lines weren't exactly what we were looking for initially. Yet, they gladly came back to resolve the issue at no additional cost and it looks great. Michael and his team are professional, dependable, and do great work. I would definitely hire them again for any pool repair/reconditioning work.

We were looking for a new pool maintenance service and David and Alicia were recommended by a…read morefriend. While here I got to know them and ask Alicia some questions I had about various pool topics. I was impressed with her knowledge! The reason for the visit was that I had a major problem with my pool motor. It was still running but making lots of noise and leaking at the seal. They both came out last Saturday and looked over our pool operation. David recommended replacing the pump as well as the motor as an entire unit. He came back Friday and installed the pump/motor. We purchased a home that had a pool built by PoolScapes in 2007. Now, all pools need repairs,…read moreespecially one that is more than 10 years old. Understandable and expected. We had waterline tiles cracking and some cracked coping stones. Decided to fix. When the coping was removed, it was discovered that there was no grout joint (nothing in between waterline tiles and coping -- so the weight of the coping stones was directly upon the waterline tiles, pushed so much that they were breaking). Upon research and conversations with 4 repair companies, I have learned that there should be a buffer between the waterline tiles and the coping stones. So according to these 4 companies (who did not know who built the pool) the pool was built incorrectly. To do a correct repair would be to remove all coping, the waterline tiles that touched the coping, add the grout joint, replace/retile waterline tiles, replace coping stones. Not inexpensive. When I reached out to PoolScapes to learn what the waterline tile was (manufacturer, where purchased) so I could purchase to match I was completely blown off. I explained my situation on the phone and the woman said she couldn't find the file for the pool, couldn't reach anyone who could answer my question, and wouldn't be able to have someone call me back for at least a week. It's been 6 weeks. They have my name, my number. Crickets. I'm not asking them to repair any of their work that, according to the 4 repair companies I've asked, was done incorrectly. I'm not reaching out to the people we bought our home from who most likely had PoolScapes build their pool to let them know PoolScapes may have taken a shortcut on their new pool. All I wanted was to know was about the waterline tile. I have the contract for the pool. For the cost, I would have expected the pool to be built correctly. You trust the people who it is their job. Poolscapes builds pools, so you'd guess they would do it right. I never expected such a shortcut to be taken. They cost me thousands in repairs that should have not been needed. If they built the pool correctly it wouldn't have been an issue. All they had to do was call back and tell me about a tile.
