We've had a beautiful deck serve us for years but over time most of the decking on the top has weakened and rotted out. We probably could have preserved it better by having it finished every so often but that's beside the point. Most of the decking was getting bad and there were a few places that would actually give way which is not safe considering it was on a very high second level. We have people over a lot and when they are on the deck it makes us worry. We had a friend come out and look at the structural part of our deck and he recommended that we ask Chris for a quote. He said that most of the deck was still good but that we could probably have a couple of our joists replaced along with pretty much all of the decking on top. So we called Chris and he gave us a fair price and we took him up on it. The whole process was a lot more than I would have wanted to try and handle. There were many things that they did that I never knew about. I thought it would have been easier. They did not cut any corners and made sure that it was done right. Chris is a very funny guy and never ceases to make people laugh. Our deck started to look brand new again and before you know it they were done. We have enjoyed our deck ever since and feel much more comfortable when friends and family come over. They love what they do and they do a great job. Thank you for a great job!! read more

Unfortunately I don't have anything positive to say about our experience. I feel bad for this guy because he reached out to me asking to write a positive review for him claiming that several fake reviews had been written about him. I then searched his company name in my emails to figure out who this person was and what work he was referring to. Once I read our correspondences I remembered how bizarre his character was and how I was wrestling with my thoughts about whether or not to write a review at the time. Anyways, he was nice at first, but showed up more than an hour late without any apology or explanation and then asked to show me some pics on his iPhone... and as he scrolled through his pics there was a couple guys sitting at a bar holding onto the butts of some women. Then as he became more excited about talking about his creepy personal pics I instantly decided to cut the meeting very short and rush him out of my house. He said he'd email me an estimate a few days later and when I didn't respond he wrote again saying that because I didn't respond he would no longer have time to do my patio for the rest of the year and good luck! Now more than 6 months later he's asking me to write a positive review on work that he never did. I have a vacation rental in Mission Hills and used Delphi Construction to upgrade my deck in the backyard because we were going to be featured on a national TV show on the Live Well network called Sweet Retreats. Because we were on a tight time line I asked Chris Doctor, (The owner), if he could make it happen and he said yes. The challenge began when the weather did not cooperate and Chis & his crew had to work between rain and wind and cover up during the showers. Chris Doctor and Delphi Construction do great work. The wood on our deck was starting to rot and we needed to find a contractor who could redo the entire thing. Chris came out, reviewed the deck and gave us a quote. We looked at a few other companies and got some other bids, but Chris' bid was spot on. The process took some time, but Chris was really good about communicating what was going on and how long it would take. The project didn't go over budget and there weren't any "surprises" like a lot of contractors randomly come up with. When it was all said and done, we were extremely satisfied with the work. They did great work on our patio and wifey was really happy. I was waiting to write a review to see how the deck would do after some water. The deck has not warped or anything after the rain. During the last heavy rains, our front upstairs deck began leaking through to the garage below. Chris Doctor was referred to us by a neighbor who had hired him for the same issue. Chris quickly diagnosed what needed to be done, and even though he had other jobs in the queue, he made time for the project at our place and completed the work in the estimated five days. He repaired and refurbished the leak and refurbished our back deck as well. Chris made good suggestions regarding color and texture of the decks, and also repaired the drywall for the leak below the deck. While doing the deck work, Chris also washed and refurbised the front and back stucco that had been water damaged and cracked over the years. He added a rain gutter to mitigate further damage, then cleaned and repainted everything with a perfect color match. His attention to detail was much appreciated! He came out and gave me a bid for my project (to tear down an old structure and then build me a brand new wood deck and pergola in my backyard) which was the best estimate I received. He then completed the work in just a few days to my specifications. Actually - better than my specifications! He added on little decorative touches to the wood beams at the top of the decking that really make my deck and pergola look amazing. Chris repaired and waterproofed my deck surface. About 600 sq ft for 30 per sq/ft. Lots of extras thrown in: Seal an existing sunroom (additional 300 sq/ft) and finished the surface directly on the original red pavers which had cracked and leaked into a workshop below. It completed quickly and is aesthetically pleasing. Cleaned up fairly well after he finished. Chris knows the chemistry of resin-concrete blends and comunicates it very clearly. And, Chris works his ass off. Starts early and puts in a hard days effort. Non-stop and 7 days a week. I like Chris and his accelerated way of getting the job done. If I needed that type of work again, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him without getting other bids. read more

Covered all the cracks and ensured that they dried up well. Provided multiple coats on it and made it look like new. I needed the fence around my back patio replaced. I noticed my neighbors just had a new fence put up, and it looked really nice. I asked them who they had work on it, they told me Delphi Construction. I called Delphi, talked to Chris,and set up an appointment for an estimate. He came out, we talked about what I wanted, and he added some advice on what would be best. He gave me a very reasonable estimate, and started working on it early the next morning, and my new fence was finished later that afternoon. Meanwhile, if you see any of his negative reviews, you can tell that this man does not have his a grasp on reality. Again, I think it's a disgrace that this man treats his community, his potential clientele the way that he does.
