Bakery side of Dell's Kitchen and Bakery is fabulous. Kitchen is not shabby at all. I asked for thick slices on the half-loaf of Yudane Shokupan ( Japanese milk bread ) and waited ten minutes...aomwthing to donwith their bread slicer. It doesn't matter cause Dell's bread and pastries are worth the wait. I also ordered their signature drink: Strawberry Matcha Yuzunade. This is one of the best iced matcha beverages that I've had. Parking stalls are available for Dell's K&B, as well as their sister eatery, Mio Pastalogy.

A total "hidden gem"! Where else can you find a place that serves pasta ordered your way, offers Asian fusion food and a bakery all rolled up in 1 place. Its casual dining, but the food is better than most dine-in eatery. You can earn "rewards" for dining there, plus its pet-friendly, provided pets are not aggressive toward guests or other pets.

Cute Dell's Kitchen & Bakery statue by the entrance area.

It's been awhile since I last came to Dell's Kitchen and Bakery, as the last time I was here, I was basically here for their baked goods. This time when I came back to Dell's Kitchen and Bakery and it was time to try their wonderful plate lunches. Met up with a friend, & we got the following - 1. Ahi Katsu plate 2. Garlic Chili Chicken plate I ended up getting the Garlic Chili Chicken plate, and I must say it was quite good! Nice garlicky taste, but as for heat in the chili......sorry I couldn't taste it, but of course my tolerance for spicy food is a bit high, as maybe that's why I couldn't taste the heat. My plate came with a scoop of - potato salad, white rice, & a cabbage salad. Overall a great deal for just $14 bucks for this Garlic Chili Chicken plate. I would definitely come back here to eat this dish again. The restaurant is casual, and there's plenty free parking in the private parking lot. If you're in the McCully neighborhood, give Dell's Kitchen & Bakery a try! They get plenty good stuff here!

Looking for a Japanese-inspired plate lunch? Check out Dell's Kitchen and Bakery in McCully. Their Miso Eggplant is a great choice if you're going vegetarian, and the Soy Ginger Pork is a solid option for pork lovers. Plate lunches come with two sides--potato salad and cabbage salad--and both were really good. Don't skip the Plantation Iced Tea. The traditional pineapple iced tea is tasty, but the yuzu version really stands out. There's plenty of seating, plus convenient free parking. Service was friendly and quick. Pro tip: Dine in. Your food is served on a real plate, which definitely elevates the experience. There's also a free water station available.

    - Kawagoe housemade gyoza with mustard sauce

You've probably driven past this spot at South Beretania & McCully, but trust me ...it's worth pulling over for. Nearly everything here is made in-house, and Chef Dell (who's also behind Vein in Kaka'ako) is absolutely delivering. Expect top-quality ingredients like fresh Mio Pastalogy pasta, egg salad sandwiches made with Japanese eggs, and premium-grade Matsuri rice. The biggest win? It's affordable without compromising on flavor or portion size. Food: 5/5 - A lineup of favorites worth every bite: - Egg Salad Sammy!! - Kawagoe housemade gyoza with mustard sauce - Kurobuta Tonkatsu - Izakaya Kawagoe's famous chicken karaage - Garlic Chili Chicken - Mahi Furikake Katsu Parking: 4/5 - Small private lot for dine-in or takeout, plus nearby street parking when it gets busy. Ambience: 4/5 - Spacious dining area with plenty of room to relax and enjoy. Service: 5/5 - Warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish.

    Gyudon

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday and ordered the gyudon. Gyudon is one of my favorite dishes, so I always have to get it when a restaurant offers it. The gyudon was a decent portion and the meat was soft and flavorful. It was a bit more liquidy than other gyudons I've had but still hit the spot. Dell's and Mio Pastalogy are in the same area and share seating, but you have to order from separate registers if you want a meal from each. It's an interesting combo, but I like that I can get both Japanese food and pasta in the same place. They also share the same parking lot. It wasn't super crowded when I came around 6, but it started to fill up. There is ample seating inside and a water pitcher which was nice. Overall great spot for comfort food and a casual dinner.

I think I got the garlic chili chicken? It was just ok. It was compared to zippy's korean chicken, but it's not really close. The service was really good. But the meal itself wasn't memorable. I wanted to like it more than I did. Cute place, would've liked to rate higher. Portion was decent though. Very Japanese-style plate lunches. And also pasta (which no one in my party had). And a bakery, but it was close to the end of the day when we got there, so there wasn't much to look at.

    Natto pasta (3/5)

During my visit home, Dell's Kitchen and Bakery came up a few times in conversation. I was curious to try the bakery and food. It didn't exactly make sense when people mentioned that there were both pasta and Japanese dishes in separate parts of the space. What it really means, I think, is that the bakery and pasta dishes are ordered at one counter and Japanese dishes at a different counter. Kind of strange if you ask me. We ended up ordering from the pasta side and had natto pasta (3/5) and mentaiko pasta (3/5). Both dishes were made fresh and came out relatively quickly. The portions were decent and made sense given the reasonable prices. The overall taste was just ok and I think my Dad felt the same way. While the pasta did serve to quell our hunger, it wasn't exactly memorable either. I think it was missing a little bit of seasoning/flavor. Also the plates looked kind of neat but borderline messy if that makes sense. I also got the chocolate and calamansi financiers from the adjacent bakery which to me were too dense but my parents seemed to enjoy them. As we were eating there was a slow but steady flow of patrons picking up food to go. Parking is very convenient as there is an ample lot in front of the restaurant. While I greatly appreciate finding free parking easily, I don't know if this restaurant will survive with a lack of patrons as it wasn't very busy at 11:30a on a weekend. Service was friendly but unenthusiastic about the bakery/menu items. The overall restaurant vibe is a bunch of cheap tables in an empty space. It's has no charm or personality. Overall, I am glad I tried Dell's but I don't know that I'd seek out a meal or the bakery item at Dell's. I've driven past this place too many times to count, but finally decided to give in this time. We came for dinner. Two different menus - the left side is Japanese and the right side is Italian fusion dishes. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Self service water station and bathrooms are available. We ordered the Kawagoe Karaage and Miso Salmon dishes. Salmon was very tender and had that umami taste from the miso marinade. The Karaage was a lightly fried juicy surprise. Both were delicious! Nice presentation and larger portion than I was expecting. I enjoyed all the variety of sides, especially their potato salad. Parking was easy with a spot right in the front. Service was nice and polite. Food came out in about 15 minutes. Would come back again to try other dishes, maybe the Italian side next!

I've tried many many different lunch places. This one by far has the most delicious meal I've ever eaten. Portions are very good, lots of different kinds of food to choose from. Fast and great service, come by and check out Dell's Kitchen. Lots of parking spots and inside table are very clean.

Not fancy, not trendy, but definitely elevated--that's Dell's Kitchen and Bakery. It's next-level takeout. In fact, when you dine-in, they 'serve' you on ceramic plates and present actual silverware, and chopsticks, of course! There is something for everyone here, young and old, pescatarian and vegetarians. No matter what you're craving, Dell's has a delicious dish just waiting to be devoured. But, first, they are going to create it with culinary expertise. From careful cuts to pretty plating, everything is done with thoughtfulness and tastiness. And it's all made to order so don't expect fast food. Trust me, it's worth the wait. There is also a case stocked full of Japanese-inspired pastries with interesting twists. Savory and sweet delicacies you can take with you for a special snack. See, Dell's has something for everyone! Hubby and I chose Dell's for a casual lunch date. The spacious dining room has lots of seating. You order at the counter and they serve you. Iced water is available in a help-yo' self-cooler. Grab a cup, sip, and sit back in the air-conditioning and wait for your food. Again, worth the wait! We tried two pescatarian options but they also offer three vegetarian options. Love that! Hubby enjoyed his ahi katsu, fresh and delish. The serving was generous. You could enjoy this dish in any high-end restaurant. But you'd probably get a smaller serving and pay more. We had the seafood croquette. I say 'we' because after trying one bite, hubby kept asking for more. He said it's the best seafood croquette he ever ate. The sweet and savory sauce that topped it was divine. A perfect compliment. We both adored the potato salad, beautifully prepared and incredibly balanced. The flower carrot garnish was a classy touch and the fried kale topped off both dishes wonderfully. This is a great neighborhood joint. It's right in the heart of Moiliili, lots of parking, on the way to the freeway. Perfect place to stop by for pastries and plates. We'll definitely be back to try more of their traditional but in inspiring offerings.

We also shared the duck salad, which was fresh and flavorful. My friends both ordered the chicken pho, with one adding an egg. They agreed the soup was really good. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Our server was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and happy to explain the menu and answer our questions. We all ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee, and it was a favorite at the table. It was perfectly blended and the perfect way to finish the meal. The only downsides are that parking can be a bit difficult, and the restaurant gets quite loud when it's full. Overall, it's a wonderful spot with delicious food, excellent service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. I'd definitely come back!

When I tell you everything that came out was amazing.... Holy moly it was SO TASTY. EVERYTHING! I was even impressed with the fried rice with how much they served and how much was in it. I personally loved the fish carpaccio, rib eye, hamachi kama, wok vegetables and malasadas for dessert. The orange chicken was my least favorite but it was still good. Oh and the STICKY RIBS...... you HAVE to get them. So crispy yet tender.... I loved how everything we had bursted in my mouth with flavor and was something I couldn't make to that level at home. Service was amazing like any other fine dining restaurant, but for the first time, I felt like this one was worth the money for how good the food was. I will definitely be back!

My bad review is entirely based on how terrible the food was. For context, we ordered Tonkatsu…read moreramen and Tsukemen dipping ramen. Ramen, according to the server, was the most popular thing on the menu, so how likely could it get messed up? Tonkatsu: Rich, but lacked any salt or had very little. We requested some salt and that instantly made the ramen better. The noodles had enough salt to carry it, but the broth was not great. It tasted like the broth was watered down or reconstituted, however no seasoning was added to re-adjust the broth. Broth: Had little salt and lacked punch, umami, and was brown instead of white. Noodles: Had enough salt to taste good, but was slightly overcooked Pork: Extremely bland. Tasted like zero salt was added during cooking. Toppings: Greatly lacking in toppings Tsukemen: The Tsukemen had a lot of the same issues. Now being a dipping ramen, the broth should be even richer and more flavorful than any normal ramen. Tsukemen -- no matter where you have it in Japan, should be richer and saltier than most broths, but the broth here was severely lacking. For $26 a bowl this was worse than your DIY frozen ramen packs. Now I'm not asking for Japan-level of ramen mastery here, this is after all, just a tourist spot -- but if your Tonkatsu is the best selling item, you have to step it up. Our server did mention that some people complained about the amount of salt in ramen, so they adjusted it. But dare I say, instead of diluting the normal salt/seasoning amount for everyone, couldn't you just add a separate, flavor-light version for people inexperienced with ramen, instead of diluting the original for everyone else? If you're reading this Mr. Morimoto, I would highly encourage you to fly here and order the ramen. I think you and I would share the same opinions. P.S. I've also been to your other Morimoto spots and it was not this bad.
