We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was flavourful. Our favourite was the koofteh meatballs.

Everything about this place was amazing, except the service was a bit hard to come by at the beginning. We waited quite a few minutes to order, but the guy we eventually got was pretty nice. The food was amazing, unique, and tasted great when paired together. The meats were tender and moist, except the duck was a liiiittle dry. The sauces on the side helped supplement it there and all other sauces added great layers to the food provided. The chicken had perfectly cooked and flavored veggies that accented it, and the lamb shank was so juicy and flavorful, nearly falling off the bone. I'll come back whenever I'm back in Vancouver.

Wow, this was fantastic!! Everything was absolutely delicious. Not even a quibble to be made. We started with the sourdough flatbread of my dreams with two kinds of dip: today's offerings were a lovely green lentil dip with pistachios, and a beautiful carrot and tahini dip with walnuts. Both were superb. The bread was top notch. Next, we shared the beef short rib special. WOW. SO. GOOD. Every element on the plate sang - the green sauce on the bottom of the plate tied all the components together. We the shared the braised lamb shanks. Another stellar dish, very unctuous and rich, served with a generous side of rice that seemed like it was at least half fresh herbs. Quite fantastic, and the sauce is delectable. Finally, we had the incomparable baklava made by the owner's mom - unlike most, this does not come soaked in a sugar or honey syrup. Instead, the sweet stickiness is provided by a mixture of dates and walnuts, which is rolled into little phyllo cigars. Served with a lovely unsweetened cream and some fruit. It was so good I ordered a second one to take home!! The service was warm, friendly and helpful. The owner and his mom stopped by the table to say hello. What a phenomenal place. By the time we left at 7:30pm, it was full of happy people. On a Monday. In today's economy. Tells you that they are definitely doing something very right.

I had this place on my list for a long time so I was excited to finally check it off. Honestly, it lived up to the hype! We came here for their dine-out menu where you got 3 courses for $55/pp for dinner ($35/pp for lunch). For appies we got their sourdough with dips which were amazing! They had hazelnut in one of their dips which was so unexpected but tasted incredible! And we got their roasted cauliflower which was really good too, the cauliflower was cooked very well and came with hummus on the bottom. For mains we got their braised beef which was my favourite, it was a bit sour but had a lot of flavours!! And we also got their chicken and barberries, it was also EXCELLENT! The chicken was so tender and went so well with the barberries which I was very surprised about. Lastly, for dessert we got their turmeric and orange cake and their saffron ice cream. The cake was a bit dry but when paired with the ice cream tasted incredible!! Their service was also phenomenal, they were so attentive and didn't bring the dishes out till we were done with our first, second, and third course. Very cute space, super asthetic! I would definitely go back there!

The food came out fresh and fast. The server seated us promptly and everything came out at a great pace. It is a good size restaurant with outdoor seating which is pet friendly, indoor seating and a bar. We ordered the prefix menu. Would highly recommend!

Very friendly staff. Love the desserts...baklava is superb. The salad sauce is a bit too sour for me, but others are quite enjoyable.

Review: Delara (Brunch in 2023 & Family-Style Dinner in May 2025)Rating: 7.5/10 I've visited Delara twice--once for brunch in 2023 and more recently in May 2025 for their $65 family-style dinner. As a Michelin-recommended restaurant, they offer a unique take on Persian-inspired cuisine at a price point that feels fair for the quality and quantity of food served. Their menu shines in the early courses. I loved the grilled sourdough bread with seasonal dips (lentil and carrot), marinated smoked olives with chili and molasses, and roasted asparagus with za'atar--flavorful, balanced, and beautifully presented. These were easily the highlights of the meal. However, the main courses didn't quite deliver for me. The charcoal-grilled beef skewers were a bit bland and tough on their own. The rice and warm bulgur with barberries and the seasonal salad (greens with feta, turnips, nuts, and orange dressing) were decent but not particularly memorable. Desserts included plum and orange blossom ice cream and baklava with walnut, date, and honey. While the combinations were interesting, the flavors didn't quite match my personal preferences. Service was attentive, though slightly too focused on upselling, which detracted a bit from the relaxed dining atmosphere. From my earlier brunch visit, I tried: * Koofteh ($18) - Beef, rice, split peas, herbs, walnut, and plums, served with flatbread. Good concept, but the rice-to-beef ratio felt off. * Kookoo Sabzi Sandwich ($16) - Herb fritters with walnut and barberries, served with lemony mayo, feta, and greens. Very flavorful and satisfying. * Shorbet ($6) - Refreshing but a bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, I'd give Delara a 7.5/10. It's a beautifully designed space with thoughtful dishes, especially on the appetizer side, and fair pricing.

Set a reservation online fairly easy, and we were promptly seated in the front room that had a sky light and window to the street. We got a few cocktails. For food we ordered the sourdough and seasonal dips, cauliflower dish, a beef dish, plum dish, and the tahdeeg that comes with it. The food was amazing, great flavour and the ambiance and decor was lovely. In terms of service, one server took our order, and then we had a new server. The first server we overheard speaking about the guests, which I would recommend to be mindful of when you are in guest areas. The second server was friendly happy to help and even offered recommendations of things in the area. Thank you!

I had always wanted to go back to Delara after the incredible Dine Out Vancouver meal I had there last year, and finally made it there again. Featured here: Pan Fried Beef, Sumac and Herbs Kotlet Grilled Sourdough Flatbread and Seasonal Dips Braised Lamb Shoulder Sandwich Kookoo Sibzamini Had to order the Kookoo Sibzamini (crispy potato pancakes) again. They were sooo incredible last time I had them, and still just as good this time as well. Only problem with this dish is that it's sooo good, I don't know if I can manage to go to this restaurant and not order it. I'd be tempted to order it everytime, but then I'd never get to try anything new! A close second to the amazing Kookoo Sibzamini though would be the Grilled Sourdough Flatbread and Seasonal Dips. Their dips are so flavorful, and definitely a nice change of pace from the standard hummus dip that we often get at restaurants. We still love our hummus, but it's nice to try something a bit more unique every now and then!

I have never really had Persian food before, but Delara really set some high standards. The staff was super friendly and fast with our orders. We ordered - Braised Beef short ribs - Halibut - Lamb Shank - Mushroom Saffron Stew - Roasted Cauliflower - Meatball - Chicken Dish - saffron ice cream - Turmeric & Orange Cake THAT TURMERIC AND ORANGE CAKE, was heavenly. Honestly probably one of the best things I've eaten in Vancouver. Overall I was mind blown at Delara, and I hope to be back again.

So good! So worth the hype! If I could give 6 stars I would! Fantastic flatbread sourdough, sensational dips, and the pomegranate molasses olives were devine. Scrumptious roasted cauliflower, the mint was a touch of genius. Service was friendly and prompt. Ambiance was lively. HIGHLY RECOMMEND :D

Delara Michelin Guide Restaurant Kitsilano Experience a delicious fusion of flavours inspired by delicious Persian dishes. This isn't your typical Persian restaurant, there's a unique and fancy twist on Persian dishes. We came on a weekday night so we were seated right away. Took away a star since it took a while to order and get our food, even more the family that came after got their food before us even when they ordered after! Forgiven since they were there for their child's birthday! Food is honestly top notch, it doesn't leave you with that over salted and MSG bloated feeling after most regular Donair spots. Instead of eating at the restaurant, we opted for take outs and did it picnic style so that my little rascal can enjoy the food as well. I see the same staff member everytime I go and she's very friendly. I was drawn to their hot food counter, particularly the delicious looking potatoes yelling at my name, again. I'm a huge fan of Middle Eastern style potatoes and Sahel's version is great. They were cooked to perfection and smelled fragrant. I was worried that the kebabs and lamb would be too hard for my daughter but she munched right through! I love the interior as it feels relaxing. You can also tell that the owner spent effort with the interior decoration. The color scheme is appealing as is their usage of live plants. This is my second review of the restaurant and I still give them 5 stars. I've had a pleasant experience every time I visit Sahel~!

**Will not honour valid gift cards**…read more Have been a customer for many years. Recently, found some gift cards I purchased awhile back and went with my boyfriend for lunch at the Cazba Davie location to redeem the gift cards on December 29, 2025. Long story short, they refused to honour the gift cards because they "changed their computer system" and said the gift cards therefore expire and cannot be used. I told them that the terms and conditions of the gift card literally states to use the gift card like "cash" and according to BC laws that gift cards are not allowed to be expired unless in very specific circumstances, which does not include a system change. Eventually, their general manager, Mr. Behruz Sigari, spoke to me on the phone and promised that he would call Moneris to find out my gift card balance and then contact me with a resolution soon. I left with his email (b.sigari@gmail.com) and emailed him twice but he has never replied. Clearly, they are willing to engaged in unethical and illegal business practices stealing funds from customers even when educated about gift card laws. I have since reported them to Consumer Protection BC and will never be a customer of their's for their lies and horrible treatment. Lesson learned: always use your gift cards as soon as you can.
