Chelo is located along Marine Drive. I came here with my friends: C and H. I noticed that if you come after 1 pm, the place gets really busy. There isn't much service. If you are trying to ask for refill on water or even to get the bill, it can be a it challenging. I ordered the turmeric eggplant dip to share. That was quite tasty. I got the lamb shank. The lamb shank was pretty tender. The food was tasty. They were very generous on the rice. There are free parking at the back and in the plaza. It is located in the same plaza as Mark's and Persia Foods. Overall, its not bad and I will definitely come back.

Located along Marine Drive, in the same plaza as Mark's and Persia Foods, this place is huge. It has its standalone building with parking spots around it. The lot in front was full when we got there and parked at the area next to it. Parking could be confusing but we finally figured out customers could park anywhere as it was the same plaza and monitored by some parking company. 2 hours free parking for customers. There were 2 sections and it was not full when we got there around 1pm. It filled up by 2pm, with a line waiting. There were lots of big groups so go early if you have many people. The place is spacious and airy and bright. A comfortable place for dining in. The menu is filled with favorites including the lamb shank, loghmeh, vaziri and stews. The dessert is lacking with just baklava and cookies. No pistachio or rose ice cream. I had the eggplant stew and it was very tasty. My friends had the lamb shank and herb stew. The lamb shank was huge! We also shared the smoked eggplant dip which was delicious. Most diners could not finish the food and packed the leftovers. Service was good when it was not busy, but spotty when it was full house. Some servers did not seem to understand us but be patient. It would definitely help if someone in your group could speak Persian/Farsi. This is definitely a good addition to the other Iranian restaurants here.

This is my first time eating at Chelo. We had a nice ladies lunch here. I love Persian food and Chelo didn't disappoint ! This place has a nice ambience, service very good and our food were all so yummy. the jujeh and Kubideh were succulent and has very nice flavors. I don't usually like olives but today I was converted - theirs were juicy and tasty. The eggplant dip was different the other places we've been to. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I will definitely bring my family and friends to Chelo !

What a fantastic restaurant! Good food, good service, clean.... I had the Caspian kabab and my husband had chicken breast kabab. For appetizers, we ordered shallot yogurt and smoked eggplant dip. YUMMMMMYYYYYY

New Persian Restaurant North Vancouver @chelo They have replaced the huge Boston Pizza that was located by Marine Drive in North Vancouver. The space is huge and they have plenty of seating. They are in their soft opening stage so they are testing out their prices and menu items. We ordered takeout and our food was ready within 20 minutes! Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. We ordered: Saffron Chicken Kebab $9.99 Ground Beef Kebab $9.99 Lamb Shank $11.99 Shallot Yogurt $4.99 All the dishes were delicious and I will definitely be back for more. My only note for them would be to add some decorations, because right now the interior is very simple.

It's the cheapest brunch buffet I've heard of in vancouver and they offer a great variety of savoury and sweet dishes. The quality of the dishes was also good. They have vegetarian and meat options. They also have warm and cold breakfast dishes. Along with a nice variety of pastries, fruits, breads, and toppings. They also had live music from 10:30 I think. They had a duo playing guitar and singing English songs and another duo singing Persian songs. The only problem I had was that the plates were very small so you either had to put small amounts on the plate and make a trip every 15 minutes or use multiple small plates on each trip. The cups were also small. I had to get up every 15-20 minutes and walk across the room with my cup, fill it with water and come back and do it all over again. Seems like the Pan items take longer to prepare, so it took awhile for the order to come out. Worth the wait in my opinion though. I loved my Vegetarian Denver Omelet Pan. It was piping hot, and the Omelet was so fluffy! This dish was a definite winner for me. One of the best things I've ordered in all the times that I've come here. Next time we came I ordered Fries and Cheese, with a bowl of Levantine Lentil soup. Mom had the Shawarma Chicken Pan, and my daughter had the Pesto Avocado Egg Wrap. The first thing that came out was my Levantine Lentil soup. I wished that they had brought it out later though. I don't like eating before everyone else's food has arrived, and it was quite awhile before the rest of the food arrived. Probably due to the Shawarma Chicken Pan since as I said before, that the Pan items seem to take longer to prepare. I took a few spoonfuls of my soup every few minutes just so I could enjoy at least few spoonfuls of it while it was still somewhat hot, but I would have much preferred for the soup to have been brought later, together with all the rest of the food. I felt guilty taking those few spoonfuls, but then the longer I waited...the colder my soup got. Next time I will tell them to bring the soup out later, when all of the food is ready to bring to the table. My fries and cheese came out after the soup. This also came before the other orders were ready. When it came, the server said she would bring some forks for us to eat the fries, and also some sour cream to go with the fries. Holy smokes...she took ages to come back to us. How long does a person need to go grab a few forks and a small container of sour cream?! I think the Shawarma Chicken Pan didn't look quite as impressive as the Omelet Pan I'd had earlier in the week. It was just chicken in the Pan. My Vegetarian Denver Omelet had been a lot more colourful than the Chicken. The dish did come with fries and they also gave my mom some bread as well. None of it very colourful though. I think if my mom wants chicken at this place, then we'll stick to ordering wraps for her. They seem to do very nice wraps at this place. My daughter had enjoyed the Pesto Avocado Egg Wrap before so this was her second time ordering it. For Pan dishes, I'd recommend the Halloumi Pan that I had on a previous visit and the Vegetarian Denver Omelet Pan.

When I first arrived home and took the salad out of the bag my mind forced an involuntary laugh out of my mouth. That's how small the salad was. I mean for nearly $18. The Chicken itself was well seasoned. Tasted Mediterranean. The Quinoa tasted older than a restaurant should serve. The Tabouleh. Because it was not prepared fresh there was no lemon juice, and that's a must for Tabouleh. Underwhelming really. The dressing it came with didn't taste like anything. Just slightly oily. So, I used my own at home. Also, because the portion of the chicken was so tiny, I added my own egg. At home. :/ While waiting for my order, I noticed they grabbed my Tabouleh salad from the pre-made window for foods to go. So, that explains why it wasn't fresh. I checked out their menu on their website first before going in. Much of what's on their website is not offered in-house. I wanted the Chicken Salad which they didn't have. When you walk in the place the experience is very different. Cute little spot. Friendly Service. Clean. But, the actual product falls very very short. Disappointing more than anything. .......so, keep that also in mind. Yeah....I'm kind of done with reviewing this place.

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. We ordered a taouk pita wrap, but we got served a taouk platter instead. Anyhow she just wasn't very attentive. The mixed grill mezze platter was mostly yummy except for the kafta.
