We by chance lucked out and found this Persian restaurant after the original restaurant we had planned to go to was closed early after seeing Lafarge lights on a Sunday night. We were also thinking of going to the Sushi restaurant next door but when we saw this restaurant was packed on a Sunday night, we knew we had to try. Much to our delight the food was very tasty. We ordered the meat platter to share. Every item was seasoned well and tender. Probably one of the best Persian I've had and I've tried quite a few in Lower Mainland. The service was a bit slow at first but it was a busy night and there was a big group there for a Christmas party. Once it cleared up, service was more attentive. Also to our delight, while we were towards the end of our meal, a table of men suddenly got up and started dancing! The owner/managed was so nice, he even turned up the music and encouraged us and the big group to dance. People were dancing and eating. We definitely didn't expect a fun quiet Sunday dinner turned to be a fun time. We'll have to venture out to Coquitlam again to try more dishes and hopefully perhaps there will be another impromptu dancing. lol. read more

We were craving Persian food, found a gem of a restaurant in Coquitlam. The ambience is a 5* hotel worthy shout out! Jumping directly to the order. The hummus was delicious and so flavorful! The beef kebab (Koubideh) was juicy, light and scrumptious! Surprise dish was Ash Reshteh - noodles, beans, herbs, fried onions with lentils - it was a vegetarian delight! We came here as our first venture to a restaurant after most of us have unmasked. It wasn't terribly far distanced, but not bad all things considered. We ordered Koobideh, a couple of chicken and beef dishes and hummus. Everything was absolutely yummy, didn't take too long to arrive even though they were slammed. It's a great place to have a good/decent Persian kebab. We didn't like the stews, nothing wrong with it, It's just a personal preference. Overall little bit pricey, but they give you lots of food. Would definitely go back for the kebobs! read more

I've only eaten Persian twice and definitely not familiar with the cuisine so I relied on the food delivery website's recommended dishes based on their customer's favourites. It was also a bit pricey but I decided what the heck as this was one of the restaurants I wanted to try before the pandemic. I ordered Vaziri (a combo of chicken breast and ground beef skewers served on rice) and although not much to look at when I opened the containers, the aroma was so enticing. I was confused with the triangular cut pieces of pita and butter and, cut quarters of raw red onions on the side. I wasn't sure how to eat them together(?) There were also thinly-sliced raw white onions in the container so I'm assuming Persians like onions with their meals. There was also a giant grilled tomato that I mistook for a potato (sorry, I thought it would be like a Greek potato!) The beef was juicy and very flavourful and would definitely order again. The chicken breast skewer (sans skewer sticks, yay!) was a bit dry but still delicious. Although there was plenty of rice, it was rather bland and dry. I tried to mix in the butter to the rice but it didn't do much to jazz it up. Overall, although I liked the flavours, I thought it was lacking in vegetables and moisture. Was I supposed to order some kind of sauce or condiment to go with my meal to add a moist component to my meal? Or was the onion and tomato supposed to add that missing texture? I need to do more research on how to eat Persian food. I'll probably visit the restaurant and watch how the other patrons eat their dishes (without being stalky, of course.) read more

Amazing food! Their portion size is good and the aroma is amazing. The texture of their meat is good and tastes delicious. A bit on the pricier side but I'd say it's worth it. I've had kebab in other restaurant for about the same price if not a bit more expensive, but their food are not as good and less portion too. There's definitely good and cheaper options like Caravan Authentic Cafe or the one in the food court, but Pasargad is going for the slightly higher end side of the restaurants. The staffs are friendly and the place is nicely decorated. Nice atmosphere and spacious place with lots of tables. Parking lot right outside and walkable to the bus stops. The place is clean and the smell of that place is just irresistible. I would recommend this place! Available for delivery, takeouts and dine-in. read more

Ended up behind company / owners vehicle last night all advrtised up with restaurant name and number. Appered to be in a hurry so I let him go ahead. Once ahead he proceeded to slowly cruise the block as if looking for something . At the light he sat waiting / looking on a green until I honked . .Now he barely turns the corner and stops and blocks me on the main road . Gives me the ???? hand signal . Its fine dinning place with seating capacity of almost 50 people at a time. Open bar concept for drinks but get it served on ur table as well. I have had persian food at other far better places then here. It was too expensive for the quality of food. I dont know why but the rice n meat were too dry to be eaten together. This place is fantastic! Been here on 4 different occasions and each and every time the food is the highest quality. Great range of Persian cuisine and the server Negar is very friendly and made really great recommendations for us. The food is very fresh and you don't feel like you have eaten out. It's very flavourful and feels like it's home cooked at the same time. I have tried various dishes from koobedeh, barg, chicken, egg plant, shirazzi salad, saffron rice etc. I recommend going with friends or date night. I am really glad I tried this place. I no longer feel the need to travel to the North Shore for good Persian food. We have been here twice now, and in both cases it has been really good. We have tried the chicken (breast) kabob, lamb chop kabob, steak kabob, ground beef kabob, chicken wings and humus. The humus is absolutely amazing. It is so good, I would return just to have that. Everything else was really tasty. My only complaint (and it is minor), is that they have only been able to serve beer and wine because their bartender has been "off". The restaurant is pretty new and spacious. The service and food are overall pretty good. A bit pricier than other Persian restaurant around the area. I really enjoyed the Kashk-O-Bademjan which is a sautéed eggplant with mint and walnuts for appetizer, it's very creamy and tasty. For main, I ordered the Chenjeh kabob lamb. It's pretty good as wand not dry. I'll mostly likely come back and try the other dishes. read more

Pros: Among almost every Persian restaurants in Greater Vancouver area, the taste of Pasargad's food is the best, imho. Staff are very friendly and ambience is warm and family oriented. Food is hot and fresh and much healthier than their competitors. Cons: I drank my water before the food arrives. Nobody attended our table to refill our water, so I almost choked once. I drank my mom's water. This was a huge turn off. Tomato was small and uncooked. This is not a big deal though. It is an easy fix, but the fact that I had no water or juice to swallow my food was extremely unpleasant. I would have given 5 out of 5 if I had a second cup of water before I finish my food. I expressed my dissatisfaction when writing the tip. Final note: I will definitely recommend this place, and I will go back again, soon. read more

I'm always looking for the best Koobideh. This place delivers! It has large portions, the best flavour, juicy and perfectly cooked. The best in Coquitlam. The only downside is that it is quite expensive compared to the other kababs in town, but it is worth it. Also, their Persian wings are really really good. read more
