On a Friday afternoon I was torn between Red Robins or a Lamb Shank - I know very random. I elected to try Zeitoon solely for the lunch special. I walked in to the restaurant and noticed how clean the place is. The restaurant had a few customers at the time, one doing a pick up and another couple who dined in, et moi. Anyway, let's talk about the food. I opted for the Lamb Shank and Dill Weed Rice, which to my surprise had a gigantic serving. I wasn't expecting the special to be this huge, I would even say good for two. The server said that its the same portion as the dinner platter but with a cheaper price tag. For an $11.95 special though, I'm not complaining, however, the lamb was a bit chewy and could need a little more salt. read more

We noticed the new place a while ago but never dared trying it out until recently. The place is nicely renovated, but overall the food was awful. They seriously need a new menu or a new cook. The bread felt and tasted like it was microwaved before they served it. It was chewy, hard and tasteless. My kebab was ok, but the side were minimal (almost none, it came with a traditional bread, no rice or vegetables). I like bread and meat, but I need more diversity on my plate. It was not a meal. The prices are above average, I expected a variety of different ingredients on my plate. We will not go back until a change in food and possibly menu, and can not recommend it to anyone. read more

I placed an order for Zeitoon through door dash, biggest mistake. I admit that the blame is not fully to be placed on Zeitoon; however, they're resolution was horrible. Long story short after two hours of waiting for our dinner I get a notification that my order has been cancelled by Zeitoon. When I call DoorDash they said that Zeitoon gave my food to the wrong person and then my order got cancelled. Imagine it's 6pm you have guests and you are waiting for your dinner which was placed almost two hours earlier. I then call Zeitoon, and not even I'm sorry or we made a mistake. They did not even acknowledge that they did an error. If you apologize for your mistakes and try to come up with a solution to resolve the issue then maybe you wouldn't lose customers. Never ordering from there again and will try to avoid them as much as I can. read more

Prices are a little over the top compared to others, we asked for 2 sticks of kobedeh and specified 1 was for eating and the other was to go. We were given 2 orders of kobedeh (4 sticks in total), the beef was cooked well and tasted like traditional Iranian kobedeh but the price was absurd. We also ordered the chicken which was just processed chicken that tasted bland and plain. We got the yogurt and mint which was really good so at least that was decent. What was the worst about this place was how inattentive the staff were. First we had to wait for our menus while the three waitresses sat around the front desk chatting, then we had to wait to get our bread while she again, stood with the other waitresses holding our food and laughed with them. Lastly, we were forced to go up and ask for our receipt and change, since we gave the woman two $50's even though our meal was $60 so we obviously expected money back. She stood back there as if we were giving her a $40 tip for her terrible service! We'll stick to Urban Gate from now on. read more

Oh god. First off, WAY TOO OVERPRICED!! $16-$20 for kabob? Papa Shish Kabob five minutes from this place sells it for $8 with much larger portions and better flavours! Their food is dry, tasteless, and over priced. Service is terrible, takes waitresses 30-40 mins to come to you. And they never have what the menu claims. They said they've run out or a machine is broken... totally not worth your time. Skip!! read more

We just ordered takeout and the portions were generous and the food was good. I was delighted to see their online order system on their website - very easy as I could view the menu and order at the same time. I ordered the Kabab koobideh- good portion and a side of the garlic yogurt as a dip. My husband ordered the steak and koobideh combo. We are stuffed!!! read more

I wanted to try this location because I heard it they just opened one up in Port Moody. I've tried Zeitoon in North Van and I really like it so I was excited when I heard there was one close to home. I must say the prices are a bit on the higher side, and if you want just kebab, just the skewer, it's only a dollar less than regular price unless you get the koobideh because that's the more popular one sold as just a skewer so I think that's kind of silly so you might as well order the whole plate of food with rice, or whatnot. They do have lunch specials though if you dine in. Anyways, I just grabbed take-out yesterday and the food was delicious. Even though it's expensive I must say the quality of the food is definitely there. I usually don't like koobideh because I can taste the onions in it and I dislike mostly anything that tastes like onions but here it didn't taste like that, and the chicken was really good too. The meat was so tender and not dry at all, just very flavourful. I was expecting it to be good but it was better than I expected. So I guess you get what you pay for. There is kebab house in Poco which is cheaper but the service is sometimes lacking. I have yet to try their dine in service here in Zeitoon so we will see otherwise the food was sooooo yummy and they gave me a pretty large salad as well. read more

SUPER SHADY WITH THE BILL. This place is a joke..never go here especially on weekends when they have live music they have a set menu and you have to order from it you cant order from regular menu they are very strict about this. The set menu is 50$ for 15$ worth of food. You get an appetizer, main and dessert for 50$. The food was the worst Persian food I've ever had. The service was the worst i have ever seen in my life. The waitress kept (3-4times) coming to the table and asking what we each ordered. I got an eggplant dip and kebab with bread for 50$. I asked for the bread 4-5 times and it never came and you need bread for the dip. I went out for a smoke when i got back the table was cleared. We had 6 split bills and every bill had extra drinks added to them. All our bills were overcharged. When we told the waitress our bills were wrong she got very defensive and argued about it but finally took it off the menu. When we got in the car we found out she double charged us. She got me to pay me and my gfs bill then got her to pay the same bill by telling her i never paid. Super shady read more

Just found out about this place a few days ago even though I drive by this area all the time I never knew it was here. I went in to try the food as I absolutely love Iranian food. I tried the Koobadeh, yogurt and saffron rice. The food was quality and very tasty! Pricing was consistent with other Iranian restaurants in Coquitlam but the Quality was superior. Ample parking and the service was good. I will return. read more

I usually don't write bad reviews but because the owner Azadeh was extremely rude, I decided to write one anyway. We were a group of 24 on a Saturday night. I have to say food was good but service was horrible. We had to wait 20 minutes for water, ordered vodka cranberry and it took them over 40 minutes because they had to go buy cranberry juice, asked for tooth pick they had to go buy some. We were told to keep our cutleries because restaurant was full and they didn't have enough. What restaurant runs out of fork and spoon????on top of all that one of our guests found a piece of glass or something in her food. When I brought it up to the owners attention she said Accident happen all the time and this has happened to her at other restaurants. I have to say that she did apologize for the fact that there was a foreign object in the food but she also said "I only have 6 waitresses tonight, the restaurant is sooo busy, we are sold out". She also told me that I was rude to her on the phone. I have never spoken to this lady in my life. Is it my fault that your restaurant is busy???? Maybe they should use some of the money they made tonight or the 18% tip they charged for the crappy service to buy some extra cutlery I suggest think twice before you take your guests to this place. I know I will never go back. I know from time to time objects can get in to food. But all she had to do was maybe offer one free drink or a small dessert since we had pre paid for everything or at least be a little more sincere about her apology Her husband came and apologized for the incident later that night. Really good juicy and fresh Persian food (I've had the Koobideh (2 beef kebab skewers) and Jujeh (1 grilled chicken skewer)). Living in this area I've tried out quite a few places for Persian food, I can say that this is one of my favourite and their happy hour prices are amazing! Seriously amazing for he quality + quantity of the food you're getting. If you're looking for a healthy option, you can easily just get grilled meat with salad (Koobideh Kebab with Shirazi salad), so much flavour, I haven't been disappointed. read more

Today I came in for a scheduled interview with the manager at Zeitoon. It was supposed to be a 5pm, and when I came the manager was not there. Instead, there were three servers at the front counter. I asked one of them to phone him, which they did, only to find out he was at another job. Basically, he either forgot about me or just did not care enough to let me know he could not make it. The manager (Elliot) did not even apologize to me or attempt to reschedule the interview. I ended up going home very upset. If this is how the management is at Zeitoon, I cannot imagine how well the service is provided to guests. read more
