Hard to believe this place has been around for 40 years and I've only now gotten around to trying this place! They seem to serve mostly Greek food here but they do also have some pizza and pasta so I guess I'd call it a Greek/Italian restaurant. Interesting that the reviews upon first glance seem to be a mix of either really high (5 stars), or really low (1 star). I'll be different and go with a middle ground rating. Mom and I shared a Calamari appetizer. For our main dishes she ordered and Baked Spaghetti and I ordered a Baked Lasagna with Vegetarian sauce. The Calamari was wonderful. Large, generous pieces of Calamari that were nicely breaded and quite tender. The Tzatziki sauce was a bit thicker than I'd have liked it. A bit thinner would have been nice. Other than that though, I very much enjoyed the Calamari. Both our pastas came with garlic bread. Huge pices of garlic bread. The bread was nice and soft. Couldn't finish the bread or pasta. It was all very filling. But the food very good. We both enjoyed our pasta dishes immensely and had lots to bring home, along with leftover garlic bread as well. Service could have been a bit better. There was a server who came to the table behind us a couple of times, and despite the fact that I lifted my arm and called out to her both times, she failed to notice me, then spun around and walked away from both tables twice. Third time she went to their table I finally managed to get her attention so that we could get some takeout containers and our bill. My mom liked the restaurant a lot and I am always very happy to discover any place that makes my mom happy. Although the service could have been better, it's not enough to deter us from coming back. The food was very good, and the ambiance was quite nice as well. We will definitely be back here sometime, and maybe next time the service will be better. read more

For a family dinner tonight we decided to splurge on some delightful Greek food at our go to Greek Restaurant in North Vancouver called Andreas Restaurant. We have gone here many times before, not to mention ordered delivery many times before too, and have been quite happy with their menu choices and the variety of dishes they have to offer. While they are well known for their oh-so-cheesy pizzas, our family always has enjoyed the variety of their food. We ordered the Double Greek Platter which came with 2 Beef Souvlaki, 2 Chicken Souvlaki, 2 Lamb Souvlaki, Hummus, Tzatziki, Pita Bread, Spanakopita, Rice, Roast Potato, Calamari, Souzoukakia & 1 Large Greek Salad. Picked up a large 10 rich toppings, and when I got home, it was burnt on the bottom, badly burnt. When I called to ask for a replacement I was told by the owner's daughter manager that I was only trying get free food. Sent her photos and was offered a 10% discount on another pizza. Lots of other people have had the same experience. My favorite review was the guy who ordered two Greek platters for delivery. Only one platter was delivered and when he called same thing" you want free food" and then she said "you have to prove that we didn't deliver all the order".................nothing left to say. Was great for many years when the origonal patriac and his wife were running the place. Now??? Take your chances I guess.. anyone else have a similar experience? read more

The quality of the food, respectfully, was the worst I've ever had. Period. I had a couple of bites of the lasagne, pizza, garlic bread and wings and threw the rest in the green waste. This place use to be my favorite, I've been going here for years!! Last night was a nightmare! The server couldn't speak English , there was like 3 tables in the restaurant and it took her over 10 minutes to bring us a beer. I had to actually get up and get it. Lets start with the appetizer We ordered to come out first ..it did not ..we ordered bacon wrapped scallops ...the scallops were very small like bay scallops ...usually they are the bigger ones in most restaurants The pastas was supposed to have shrimp added ...they were Salad size mini shrimps usually are normal size shrimp ...same with chicken it was like chopped up small squares of chicken .... They have plenty of seating and the staff is very nice. Their menu is vast and has a lot of variety. I went there with a friend and our kids. It was early, before 5 and our kids were running around. It wasn't a big deal we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Best pizza in the Lower Mainland! Montreal style, packed with toppings under a blanket of cheese. Rich, Lucious and luxurious. You can take your weak New York style pizza, or cornmeal crust pizza or downtown Vancouver $4 slice and use 'em as napkins to soak up the deliciousness of Andreas. When I come here I'm always amazed at how this place has not changed. The menu, the decor the famous money wall (which I still do not understand). I consider Andreas to be one of those long time joints in the neighbourhood. It's a familiar place where people go because they've done so for decades. I guess they know what to expect and like I mentioned very little has changed. It's a place good for groups, especially if you have kids. Tonight I chose to dine here because I was craving lasagne. I figured that it would be very similar to the many other Greek/Italian places that one would find in Vancouver....it's not. They have a huge dining room which was mostly empty and yet the wait to get a table was longer than should have been. The service was slow, the kitchen I presume was VERY busy with the numerous take out and delivery orders. The prices are slightly more than your average Greek/Italian place. Sadly, the taste was not there. The lasagne was bland, bland and more bland. The garlic bread was barely toasted and I hard time trying to figure out what side of the bread had garlic. This restaurant is not a foodies paradise, it simple a place to go because it's close, it's the designated long time neighbourhood joint. It's not a place to go if you're craving lasagne. read more

When I phoned to complain the manager initially said that is how they make it now and then said to send a picture. no response to 2 emails and a phone call. They used to be good, now they have lousy food and can't even be bothered to answer a complaint. read more

In response to an email promotion I phoned in a take away order at 20% off. The young lady taking the order was not aware of the special, checked & confirmed the BBQ 1/2 chicken with lasagna was indeed 20% off. In great anticipation, I presented myself at the front desk only to be met by the haughtiest young man I've ever had the displeasure to come across. This young man proceeded to advise I was not entitled to 20% off my meal as I ordered by telephone rather than on line. I asked he check with the young lady I placed the order with, he declined. I asked he check with someone else, he declined. I asked he consider customer relations, he declined. I declined the order. Never have I been treated with such disdain, at least not since the maître d on a cruise ship back in 1998. Until we moved to Vancouver Island in 2002, you could find my husband & I at the window table for 2 every Wednesday from 1986 on. We knew John & Andrea, our usual waiter was Gordie. I ordered pick up tonight. A long time since I ordered from here but I occasionally am in the mood for the thick Greek style pizza , and the food here before was good. My order tonight was not. First, you need to know I really like garlic and I'm not put off by a garlicky dish. I ordered a pizza with bacon, hot peppers, garlic and mushrooms. The bacon was bacon bits, but hey sometimes that's what places do. For me, the issue was the garlic. Clearly bottled chopped garlic, but could handle that if they caramelized or at least cooked the raw garlic. This was raw garlic thrown on a pizza and warmed. Overwhelming, sharp, bitter. Ruined what otherwise might have been an ok run of the mill pizza. It was inedible.. I heard this place had really gone downhill. I see that is true. read more

North vancouver branch: I placed a catering order ( 3 emails and went into restaurant to confirm how to place orders ) for $650. Hadnt received confirmation with less than 24 hours to my party. I followed with multiple phone calls with multiple waiters who apparently couldn't find order, blamed colleagues, inconsistencies in whether they had received the order, then got rude,curt and impatient when she tried to take my order again. She ended by cutting the call while I was talking. At no time could I find a senior staff/ manager to talk with. I phoned back to cancel the order due to rudeness and inefficiency-- . The next day I received yet another call from a waitress asking me if they could prep my order in 4 hours!! Clearly overall significant lack of communication. I have supported the restaurant for 20 years- saddened by the decline of service and courtesy. Happier to support other excellent local Greek restaurants for the future. read more

This time my father in-law called in and told whomever he was speaking to "no mushrooms no pineapples" not once but 3 TIMES. An overall terrible experience. We called in a order on Father's day for pick. We are told Half a hour. We show up and they tell us there is no order. Apparently they got the name wrong. They refuse to give us the order and put it in again. We are told it will be 15 minutes. It ends up being 45 minutes, during which time serval people (3 or 4) show up whose names they got wrong. It is only when they show the call log in their phone that they are given the order. When we arrive back home we are missing like a third of our items. Still charged for and on the bill but not receive. We call in twice only to get hung up on by rude staff. I get that places can be busy, and I have never complained on Yelp before but this was such a high level of incompetence that I just had to post a review. This restaurant has gone down hill in the past few years. The last time I ate inside the restaurant I said never again due to poor service, below average food and high prices. Their flyer came in the mail yesterday and I decided to try one more time. Apparently the prices in yesterday's flyer are no longer valid as I was told they "went way up 2 months ago". Stupidly I slogged on and ordered for pickup. My 30 minute pickup time turned to 55 minutes without an apology. After all that, the food was terrible. Wish I could write a review but I didn't get my food. I used to order from Andrea's for years. Loved their pizza but after over 20 years of patronage, I noticed their quality took a big decline and pizza would show up burnt or under done about 50% of the time. I Haven't ordered from them I about 5 years. I Decided today to give them another try again. Placed an order for 2 large pizzas. Was told it was going to be about an hour as it was New Year's Day and they were busy. Not unexpected. After 2 hours I call them back. Order had not been placed. I was told it would be another hour. I said 3 hours to get 2 pizzas was not acceptable. I said if there was some kind of discount I could be persuaded to wait. None was offered! Nothing!! I own a small restaurant. I would have comped this meal for the mistake. Super disappointed as we always really loved their food. I can see now why I stopped ordering from them years ago. $32 for a pizza?? I will start off by saying that you get a lot of food for the price that you pay and that I like the combination of Greek and Italian cuisines. But with that being said... let me explain why I gave my rating. To start off with, it is a small location, like hold your arms at your sides or you risk elbowing someone in the head level of small. We even saw a woman in an ECV have nowhere to put her scooter while enjoying her meal except for against another​ table's chairs, causing those people to be forced to sit. What if those people had to go to the bathroom or a medical emergency? The​ service was also... well... how can I put this nicely? It could stand to be improved by leaps and bounds. We were greeted by one lady who checked our reservation and seated us at a table in the back and she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. But our actual waitress literally​ approached our table, asked us what drinks we wanted (as she poured water into the water glasses) and then as we tried to order said to stop because she couldn't remember. Let's not forget that as she's pouring the water it's getting everywhere because the ice was blocking the spout. I don't know if she didn't realize it or just didn't care... but given her demeanor,​ I'm going with the later. The food was OK and as​ I said at the beginning, you get A LOT. But even that could be improved cause the alfredo​ sauce had barely any flavor and my mom's spaghetti sauce looked like it came premade in a can and they just heat it up in the microwave. Also, not everything has to be smothered in cheese... a nice sprinkling would be fine. Would I come here again? I don't know... maybe as a last resort option but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more

The food I ordered (for home delivery ) was , and I am sorry there is no better or more gentle way to say this; totally awful. We ordered online from this restaurant last night. 2 roast lamand one prawn souvlaki. I spent, relatively speaking; (what is for me), a lot of money to treat me and my parents to a take-out order of greek food. We were so excited to receive the order, but, unfortunately, so absolutely disappointed with everything we got. Everything was bland and under-seasoned. The rice was tasteless, as was the greek salad. No olive oil,no lemon, no oregano?? The potatoes were neither crispy nor lemony, nor flavourful. The roast lamb was the most disappointing of all; it was chewy, and tasted like no thought or effort, nor spices / marinade - nothing, had been put into to cooking it whatsoever. My mom said hers was mostly lamb neck, with lots of vertabrae, and inedible black veins. Not appetizing, nor enjoyable to eat at all. Also,just by the way, I asked for a substitution of a cesar salad instead of greek salad for one meal, which we never received. I am honestly just so upset at the waste of money. I don't mind paying when the food is good, once in a while, as a treat. But I feel like I may as well have literally thrown my money away, or burned it. And yes, we ate it, (not all of it) because we were hungry, and it's all we had for dinner. My mom said she threw up 3 times during the night afterwards. Good to hear, Here's a good Yelp testimonial- Ordered food from Andrea's Restaurant in North Vancouver last evening (after swearing off never ordering from them again based on my last awful experience). Ended up paying extra for possibly the worst Cesar Salad ever, literally a soupy soggy mess. Had probably been sitting pre-maid in one of their fridges for at least a couple of days. Plus I paid north of $30+ for a 12oz New York steak. Having a restaurant background, I know this wasn't a New York cut, further to that 50% of the cut was pure fat. I get it fat on a steak is to be expected and typically adds flavour. This was straight up disgusting and over the top expensive (transitory inflation or not). When we called to complain the manger told us that she would not comp us nor provide us with a future discount. Instead she insisted we pick the fatty steak out of the garbage as well as the Cesar Soup and return it to them for replacements. Whatever happened to the customer Is always right?!? Andreas is fortunate as they have a bit of legacy business in place (40+ years, if I'm not mistaken) so they'll get away with serving garbage like I had last evening. Clearly the current owners/managers don't give two you know what's about food quality or customer service. The entire experience was pathetic and disgusting. I will never EVER order from them again. I've lived on the NS for almost 50 years, and I know thousands of people that reside on the Shore. I will be sure to share my experiences with them in the future, all and all this was one of the most pathetic experiences I've ever had when ordering delivery from a restaurant. 5:40 my dad (75) and I head into the restaurant for supper. Vaccine passports checked and we were seated. Only one other table seated. So, I thought with 4 servers running around this will be great. Dad orders a Caesar Salad with Shrimp and wine, myself hummus and pita and baked lasagna. Dads wine arrives and within 20 minutes dad has his salad and I have my pita. Server is attentive and asks how things are, refills our water glasses. There are not 4 tables in the restaurant and a steady stream of people picking up take out. Dad and I have been talking and I really took no notice of the time. Just before 7:00 pm, the server comes by again and I ask about my lasagna. I understand it take a bit of time to cook, but going on 90 minutes is a bit much. He says the kitchen was too busy with take out and delivery and my food will be out shortly. Told him that a restaurant should NOT prioritize take out and delivery and that it affects him as a server, because I am HIS client and he really should advocate for me. Isn't that his job to ensure I get my meal promptly. I paid our bill and I did tip the waiter, as it really wasn't his fault. My dad maintains that it was. So I am curious..... have all restaurants shifted their priorities to delivery and take out? Are servers afraid to advocate on behalf of their clients (dine in diners)? I do believe that the manager/owner should address these questions and they should have to pay for my McDonalds dinner read more
