Lamb + veggies & rice
Angelina F.

We came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner and the food was SO GOOD! We arrived to an assortment of dips + bread and another appetizer that included calamari, lamb/beef patties, and a few other items. Both assortments were delicious, but my favorite item was probably the lamb/beef patties. For our entree, we decided to get the lamb with rice & veggies. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the meat practically fell off the bone. It was even better paired with a few veggies and rice as well. I would 100% order the lamb again! Also a big shoutout to the waitresses who took care of our large party - they were so patient, attentive, & friendly.

I was craving for some good calamari, and started looking into all the good Greek restaurants in North Van. Based the good Yelp review, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is very spacious, all the decor are old fashion with friendly staff. We chose a table that's away from others, they have both booster and high chair available at the time for the little one. When the Calamari came, the portion was very standard, and flavor was okay. I expected them to be a little more crispy. Each of us ordered the roast lamb, backed seafood with egg plant, and chicken souvlaki with different sides. The roast lamb were well cooked, juicy, fell off the bones. I asked for baked potatoes and Greek salad, both were very nice. However, my family ordered the rice and baked veggies, both rice portion came out to be very small, almost enough for one person. When the dessert came, the ice cream came in a big bowl, with whipped cream on the top, nothing wrong with that, just there was zero presentation, just like how I would eat the ice cream at home. The mud pie came out as a surprise as I thought it would be a baked Pie, instead of a piece of ice cream cake. Normally at any Greek restaurant, pitta bread is always complimentary. However, when I asked the waiter, he said they have stopped giving out pitta bread complimentary, not even with the meal. You would have to order it. I don't know if it's a COVID thing, or it's a cost thing. I wasn't very happy to hear that, but still ordered a side of pitta bread. Overall, I'm not sure if I would go back based on the changes and portions.

Outstanding Greek restaurant in north Vancouver above SeaBus pier in Lonsdale. About a six block walk but worth the effort. Alexis friendly with good menu knowledge. Service attentive. Enjoyed our dinner such that we will return. Reservations suggested if dining after 6 PM

Amazing Greek restaurant just off Lonsdale! Coming from England to Canada, I'm really missing Europe, almost every year me and my partner go on a Greek holiday so when we found out about Mythos we had to check it out! Authentic, delicious cuisine, awesome staff and a great ambience. A must visit!!! (Get the mezze)

We've been making our way around the local restaurants with weekend take outs lately and this recent find tops the list! Definitely a case of you get what you pay for, we've found the offerings here absolutely delicious! The hummus and taramasalata with pita bread is fresh and flavorful, very addictive and generously portioned. The souvlaki plates are hearty, with lots of flavour again, well seasoned and tender meats and tasty sides. I can see why they're known for their potatos, with a slight zing of lemon among other seasoning. If their meals are this good to go, no doubt it's even better during dine in. The ambiance is nice too, cosy and romantic. When things get back to normal, we'll make our way there, but in the meantime, we'll enjoy the take out!

Amazing restaurant ! My boyfriend and I went there for dinner, at first we weren't sure about the place. It seemed dark and small from outside. However, it has a great and big area and also perfect lighting. We order the dayspecial. Oh man! It was soooo delicious. The dishes are well served and taste AMAZING! I was so full, but the food was so good that I kept eating it! Haha Our server was very friendly and helpful she made us fee very welcomed. To be honest all the staff was nice and polite. I will definitely go back there for more. Ps. The picture is not great, but you can have an idea about the size of the dishes

Prawns, Scallops and Beef Souvlaki

I am still in awe of the meal my mother and I just had tonight at Mythos. I had been some time ago when they were previously located up on Lonsdale and we were both in the mood for Greek food. This location used to be where Pasparos was situated for so many years. I ordered the Prawns, Scallops and Beef Souvlaki. The beef was medium rare to perfection and to so much better than anything I've ever had at The Keg or Milestones. The prawns and scallops were amazing. Service was prompt. I believe they need a few air conditioners in the place as it's rather hot inside due to the kitchen but with the windows and doors open it was pleasant enough. Without a doubt, I will be back again.

$21 House specialty lamb shoulder is a must order! 5 out of 5 but some may find it fatty.

Their Greek style roast lamb is still a big hit with the rest of the family, who all still eat meat. I'm the only one who has stopped eating meat. They have a David's Deals menu now that they didn't have in the past. The deals are all combo meals but smaller portions than the regular sized meals. These are great for people with smaller appetites and a little easier on the wallet as well. I had the David's Vegetable Moussaka and it was just right for me. Managed to eat up everything on my plate and was very full, but not ridiculously full. Not sure if they've always had this Vegetarian Moussaka or if it's something they started offering in more recent times. Vegetarian/ Vegan eating is a lot more popular these days than in the past. I was never a huge fan of Moussaka back in my meat eating days, but I very much enjoyed this Vegetable Moussaka. Think I'm starting to become a bigger fan of Moussaka now. All the accompaniments...Greek Salad, pita bread, lemon roasted potatoes....those were awesome too. I love love love Greek style lemon roasted potatoes!

They seem to serve mostly Greek food here but they do also have some pizza and pasta so I guess I'd call it a Greek/Italian restaurant. Interesting that the reviews upon first glance seem to be a mix of either really high (5 stars), or really low (1 star). I'll be different and go with a middle ground rating. Mom and I shared a Calamari appetizer. For our main dishes she ordered and Baked Spaghetti and I ordered a Baked Lasagna with Vegetarian sauce. The Calamari was wonderful. Large, generous pieces of Calamari that were nicely breaded and quite tender. The Tzatziki sauce was a bit thicker than I'd have liked it. A bit thinner would have been nice. Other than that though, I very much enjoyed the Calamari. Both our pastas came with garlic bread. Huge pices of garlic bread. The bread was nice and soft. Couldn't finish the bread or pasta. It was all very filling. But the food very good. We both enjoyed our pasta dishes immensely and had lots to bring home, along with leftover garlic bread as well. Service could have been a bit better. There was a server who came to the table behind us a couple of times, and despite the fact that I lifted my arm and called out to her both times, she failed to notice me, then spun around and walked away from both tables twice. Third time she went to their table I finally managed to get her attention so that we could get some takeout containers and our bill. My mom liked the restaurant a lot and I am always very happy to discover any place that makes my mom happy. Although the service could have been better, it's not enough to deter us from coming back. The food was very good, and the ambiance was quite nice as well. We will definitely be back here sometime, and maybe next time the service will be better.

Food was excellent and so was the service. Would definitely recommend! Atmosphere was good.read more

Wonderfuly light and flaky phyllo filled with layers of warm spinach. I was pleasantly surprised how warm it stayed and long the pastry remained intact and not soggy. My partner had the Greek Ribs & Chicken which came with all the Greek fixings ( rice /Greek salad / potatos / tzatziki & pita). The ribs has a nice seasoning run on them but like most Greek chicken ( I found it was quite dry). The potato's were not heavily lemoned either. It really was just a roast potato. We also had a Baklava. This was over sweet & heavy with what I found similar to the taste of black licorice or ouzo. Personally not a fan. We lucked out and got a seat to eat but most people appear to be doing take out orders and pickups here. Food takes a while to be ready so be ready to wait and eat with people sitting or standing waiting for their food. There is small side table, window counter and larger side table but there is definitely not too many places to sit. I'd recommend just puting in an order before showing up to save on waiting time. Staff was friendly despite how busy it got. Located on Hastings St. Plenty of street parking & side street parking and definitely transit friendly.

We also ordered grilled halloumi, which brought that satisfying squeak and a lightly crisped edge. A nice surprise: they sent out profiteroles on the house for us to try. It's a small gesture, but it rounded out the meal on a sweet, generous note. This Gastown souvlaki shop runs tight on space, so expect a possible wait, especially if you go at a peak time. There's an authenticity to the dinning experience and the food is elevated compared to the standard fair all around town. It's a small restaurant in Gastown. There are only a handful of tables. It's not a huge menu, but the things you expect are there. Everything on the menu looked so go we wanted to try everything. Fortunately there is an "everything" platter for two people where you get to sample everything. The platter comes with pork gyro, chicken kabab, lamb kabab, greek salad, green salad and French fries. Not being a fan of lamb, we asked if we could substitute the lamb kabab for a second chicken kabab. They were accommodating and said they would happily do that, but the owner, encouraged us to tray the lamb. I could tell how passionate and proud of his food he is, and that convinced me to try it. It was absolutely the best thing on the platter. The serve was great. The food came out fast in a beautiful wooden bowl that presented the food wonderfully. Kababs can be a tough thing to get right. Often they're over cooked and dry. Which is the kiss of death for chicken and particularly lamb. These were served hot and juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries were seasoned well and crispy. The salads fresh.

The experience was similar each time. The space is nice, but it was very quiet during all my lunch visits, presumably because of all the construction work on Broadway. It was a last-minute decision to come here, so I called about an hour before we planned on arriving to reserve a table. They were pretty busy (Saturday 7 pm) so I'm glad I called. The three of us each ordered our own dishes but shared a little bit of everything so I got to try the Beyond souvlaki platter (my dish), the grilled humboldt squid, and the lentil salad, all of which were amazing. I was really excited about the Beyond souvlaki because I love the souvlaki flavours but don't eat the usual souvlaki meats, so this was the first instance where I was able to try this sort of thing at a restaurant. The souvlaki skewer was bursting with flavour and all of the sides were delicious, the potatoes practically melted in my mouth. The lentil salad also exceeded my expectations - there was a substantial serving of lentils and lots of dill to give it a fresh herby flavour. The squid fro what I could tell (I don't eat squid very often at all) was also well-prepared, very tender and, like everything else, flavourful. Prices are not cheap but their portions are very generous. I appreciated the big vegetarian/vegan section of the menu! They even have vegan feta available as a feta substitute for the salads, so all of the vegetarian dishes except the spanakopita are or can be veganized. Our server was nice and the service was very timely. The atmosphere was calm. This was a great choice for us! I'd love to go back and really bring my appetite so I can try some dessert too!
