Okay again, I see a restaurant with a low star rating and I'm wondering what people's scale for stars was. Do you have a problem with fresh vegetables? Was it the perfect seasoning in the spanakopita? Oh wait, I know what it was... You were jealous at the table near you got the saganaki. We have been here multiple times as our office is in the area and every single time I've gone the food has been stellar. The Greek salad is always packed with peppers and not just a cucumber salad. The rice and potatoes are delectable. Really high quality food and I'm just not sure why the heck somebody would give it 3 and 1/2 Stars. The service has always been on point too so... I don't know. Maybe I've just gotten lucky? But we're moving out of the area and I am so sad to be leaving Ramies. read more

Been going to Ramie's off and on throughout the years and find the food and service here consistent. Love the fact that they have parking at the back of the building. After 8pm, there's free street parking around the area too. My favourite is the roast lamb here - it's tender, decent portion, served with rice, roast potatoes, Greek salad, and warm pita bread. They don't skimp on the tzatziki yogurt here like many places do and I always have enough leftovers for lunch the following day. At $28 for roast lamb, it's a solid choice at Ramie's. Service is always friendly and consistent. Not hard to see why it's a neighbourhood staple that's been around for years. read more

This is the second time that our office has had a dinner party for over 20 people at this place. They are quite accommodating for our special requests for cake that we had delivered. They have limited wine selection however. The prices are competitive and the portions are good. I like the seasoning ie. not too salty not is the rice greasy. Menu is typical of Greek places. Located at Kingsway, I would have passed this place except for a recommendation. The restaurant offers dine in and take-out. The service is friendly and there are seating for couples as well as groups of people. The menu serves authentic greek dishes at reasonable prices. The homous was great and the bread toasty and fluffly. I haven't had chicken souvlakia for awhile and was not disappointed!! It came with rice, roast potato, vegetables, greek salad, and tzatsiki. The food here was not very good. We shared a calamari appetizer which was okay. I had the moussaka and my husband had the lamb souvlaki. Both orders came with bland Greek rice and potatoes and boiled green beans and carrots that were awfully bland and mushy. Our drinks were not great either. Husband ordered a double Caesar that was not double and was not spiced very well. The ambience was not very nice the seating was squeezed in and could hear everything the other guests were saying because we were so close together. The service was okay but overall we couldn't wait to finish our food and leave. Didn't bother with dessert because I was so disappointed with the rest of the food and drinks. We were originally planning to eat dinner across the street but the lineup was crazy. We decided to try Ramies Greek Restaurant instead. We dropped in on a Friday evening (around 8:30pm) and were the only customers dining in. The inside is roomy with several tables but avoid sitting near the door because they do a shocking amount of takeout orders. It was a non-stop flow of delivery drivers. The menu is split into appetizers, soups and salads, BBQ dishes, pasta, house specials, souvlakia, platters for two, seafood and desserts. Most of their entrees are in the $17.95 to $26.95 price range. - Pita bread - this came out first while we waited for our entrees. Lightly brushed with butter. The pita bread were soft with a nice chew to them. Wish they would have brought out some tzatziki as dip. - Roast lamb ($23.95) - the lamb shoulder as a mixed bag. Some parts were slightly dry but the other parts (closer to the fat) were fine. The Greek salad was plain and unmemorable. The vegetables (carrots, red pepper, zuchinni, green beans) were tasty but wish they gave you more. Rice pilaf and roast potato were good. - Greek ribs ($20.95) - ribs were on the small side and I didn't find them particularly "special" or memorable. Again, a mixed bag of dry and passable meat. I like the pita most. Warm, lightly salted and a bit buttery (or just brushed with olive oil?), it hit the spot. We had the roast lamb and mousaka plate which came with rice, potato, Greek salad and tzatziki. My friend likes the roast lamb which is nicely done. The cut was proper and not full of bones. The servers are always really nice. Gets busy at dinner time. Portions have gotten smaller with inflation. You don't get hummus anymore to dip with your pita bread. They also reduced the amount of rice that come with your meal. Other than that, still more affordable than other places. Was leaving Metro and craved Greek food. I noticed the dated interior and lack of patrons upon entering the establishment and it nudged me to back out. However, the number of takeout orders on the table and strong Yelp reviews influenced me to stay. Glad I did because of the friendly staff and prompt service. The best part of the meal was the beef, which was moist, tender, and tasty, but was terribly matched with soggy rice, and calamari that had either been microwaved or heat-lamped for hours. It looks quite 1980s in there, but is relatively clean. Plenty of tables, and a few booths are available too. There's a patio in front. Staff were friendly. Dishes are a bit more expensive at $18-25 for most entrees. Must be the rent here. The souvlaki I had was okay. Nice decent sized portion. With that said, nothing really stuck out. I ordered through Uber Eats. I have had excellent food from here, both dine in and takeout. My last order (a few days ago) was a complete reversal of my previous experiences. The calamari was the worst quality I have ever eaten, anywhere. The rings were small on diameter, the sides were thin. It was over cooked and poor in taste. I threw most of it away. The roast lamb had the taste, texture and appearance of being pressure cooked and finished for a few minutes in the oven. It was almost flavourless. The spanokapita was over done with some herb (maybe oregano). My daughter actually spat it out in one bite. Even the rice, greek potatoes and veggies were uninspired. I'd order from a kiosk in a mall food court before ordering from here again. Save your money ... avoid. read more

Ramie's Greek Restaurant is a well-established restaurant on Kingsway that we've visited on a number of occasions. Usually, we wind up ordering one of their special platters for take-out (really a good option if you're looking to try a bunch of different items). However, we came here for dine-in service in September for an impromptu date night. Instead of their platters, we just opted for their regular menu and ordered the Moussaka ($17.95) and Ouzo Mushroom Chicken ($18.95 + $3 to sub for lasagna and Caesar salad). Before our main dishes came out, they brought out some freshly made pita bread. Why does pita bread taste so good when it's fresh and then like cardboard 5 minutes later? The moussaka is always a favourite for us when we come here and made with eggplant, zucchini, and bechamel sauce. They also include rice, potato, veggies, and a greek salad to boot. I've never had the ouzo mushroom chicken here before and I was surprised at the size of the lasagna that this came with. The chicken was quite tender and smothered by a nice sauce. On a subsequent visit, I decided to finally try their Greek Ribs. Being used to the more common bbq-style ribs, I found the Greek-style ribs here to be drier and not as fall-off-the-bone tender that I would have liked. Still, the ribs were fairly flavourful. My hubby was craving for Greek food again. Sure, why not? We tried Ramies Greek on Kingsway in Burnaby, they have free parking in the rear or just park on Kingsway meters. There some few tables available outside during summer time. Of coz, we would prefer inside sit in cool air-conditioning dining room. They severed with fresh made greek pita bread and we had calamari to start as appetizer, the portion was huge but it's fresh and delicious. Typical Greek fair, the only thing that was a nice touch was that you also get some veggies on the side. We tried this restaurant on a Friday night. It was not too busy, but staff restricts the number of patrons due to Covid. My wife had moussaka, myself and my other companions had chicken souvlaki. The souvlaki's were good but I was missing some type of dressing on the Greek salad. Even some olive oil and vinegar would be a nice touch on an otherwise bland salad. One minute ago So it's Valentine's Day and my sweet boyfriend decides to take me out for a dinner. I told him that we haven't tried this place. It was pretty busy considering the occasion. We were seated after probably 5 minutes of wait. We were handed the menu. We ordered the Feta Dip. It was under Appetizer and it says on the menu "All appetizers serve with Pita Bread". I ordered the Roast Lamb under House Specials and it says "All House Special served with Rice, Roast Potatoes, Veggies, Greek Salad and Pita". My boyfriend ordered the Calamari Dinner which also states it comes with rice, roast potatoes, veggies, greek salad and pita.  We were very happy with the appetizer, though it took 30 minutes for it to get to our table. For our main course, we had to wait another 30 minutes. There was a couple who came after but, was served before us too. Our food came missing the pita bread. I called the server back and ask if our meal comes with pita. She said, "I gave it to you already". I looked at my boyfriend puzzled. And I told her, the menu says it comes with it. She said, "I can get you more if you want". I told her very nicely "no, that's ok." She walk away, and after couple minutes came back with a plate of 1 pita bread, and said "here you go". And just walked away.  Thanks to that server, I lost my appetite to eat. The roast lamb was overcooked. The veggies looks like the frozen veggies that Costco sells. And to top it of, the pita bread that she gave, according to my boyfriend, was a bit hard. So most likely, it had been sitting for quite sometime and it's over toasted too.  It was the worst service we ever had! I wouldn't come back to this place. If I could just post this without giving a star, I wouldn't even give it 1star. It's not just about the pita bread. But, when I clearly said no to it, I find it very rude that she had to go back to our table and dump an overcooked bread. And, she didn't bother checking our table as well considering she was doing her rounds before she dumped the bread on our table. read more

In the 20 anniversary celebration, we went this Greek restaurant. Souvlakia was good and big portion which are $1 cheaper than usual. The beef and prawns were yummy. We keeping coming to Ramies for their good prices (with entertainment book coupon) and solid greek food offerings! We came by for lunch and got two platters, one of chicken souvlaki and the other calamari. Both were huge and more than enough with a very juicy skewer of chicken and not overly breaded squid pieces. The greek salad was not too oily although their sauteed veggies were a little bit heavy. They also provide plenty of rice, a lemon potato and pita with every meal. OMG did this place take me back to a little place on the island of Crete when I took my first bite of the Saganaki...it was nearly a spiritual experience. The chicken entree that I had was great and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My only problem with this establishment was the bread. Oh it was delicious...I'm on a low carb diet and it was unfair for them to put it on the table. Oh was it good! Great value for the money. Oh. We went back the following week as well. We stopped by this place Sunday late evening to grab a quick bite. Obviously this place is not best for a quick meal, but their food was impressive. Came here for dinner with a friend and found this place to be quite enjoyable. We each ordered a skewer platter, and were first served their fresh-out-of-the-oven bread. The bread came in a basket and was crispy and aromatic. The main dish that followed was quite hearty as well. It contained roasted vegetables, salad with feta cheese, half a roasted potato, rice, and a skewer. I found the portion to be more than filling. The quality was good for most items, except the roasted vegetables which turned out somewhat bland. The best parts are definitely the potato and skewer. Very surprised with the poor service and also the quality of food. On a couple of recent occasions, I ordered the chicken souvlaki and the chicken and rib combo to takeaway. The chicken was so-so; it came with rice, salad, pita. The sides were just ok. The portions were really small and the food was not hot. The lady also told us the wait wouldn't be more than 25 minutes and it turned out to be more than 1 hour on both occasions. The ribs were also just so-so; they were supposed to be dry-rubbed though not very exciting. When I received the order the second time, the oil from the salad spilled all over the bag and onto the car seats. When I called them to see what they could do, the lady basically wouldn't do anything to make the situation better. The first time, the lady who answered the phone blamed the kitchen and there were disagreements between the front of house and the kitchen that customers could hear. We could also hear that they messed up other customers' orders; not a great environment to be in. The interior is also quite outdated. As they have a lot of takeaway orders, there isn't much room inside the restaurant and in the summer, it's stuffy. read more
