I've always had a good experience. The food has always been great, the service quick, and the people behind the counter very helpful and efficient. I usually go inside to eat. I don't like to wait in drive-thru lines. The parking can be a bit crowded as there are a lot of stores in this strip mall. Anyway, Del Taco to me is head and shoulders above Taco Bell. What a bunch of idiots... Ordered food thru the app, checked in and showed up within 3 minutes and let the employee (cashier) know that i was there to pick up an app order, which they acknowledged. 5 minutes later, told another employee i was there to pick up an app order, which again, was acknowledged by the employee but they didnt bother to check on anything. After 15 minutes, a 3rd employee asked if i was waiting for something and told them FOR A THIRD FUCKING TIME that i was there for an app order. It took THREE employees to realize that i was there to pick up an app order that i watched sit for 10 minutes on the bar behind the counter, and at least 5 minutes under a heat lamp, and nowhere fucking close to the designated app/online order area. Obviously, I'm not going to eat food that has been sitting for 15 minutes, and not going to waste any more of my time waiting for these fucking morons to remake the food. Of course, the torta behind the counter tried to pass blame because she thought i "was waiting to use the bathroom," in the lobby, staring at the designated app/online order spot. The last few times I've been here, the food has been horrible compared to other locations. I have ordered fries no salt or easy salt and they must rinse them out and re-fry because they have been so dry and a very weird texture. I called and a guys scolded me since I was calling to mention the fries were disappointing, again while he was at the window taking orders and dealing with customers. WARNING don't go here unless you are a Del Taco expert and know about ALL items (those not on the menu). I confirmed my chili cheese fries were just cheese and sour cream as usual before walking away when my order was ready because they forget and leave the meat on the item, but he said I didn't order the deluxe chili cheese fries so my fries were only sprinkled with cheese. I asked what was it that I ordered then, very confused. He said I only ordered chili cheese fries and not the deluxe. I was literally looking at the menu as I ordered, which has literally 3 options and not any "just chili cheese fries." I asked which item is he talking about because there is only three options on the menu, and he said he entered the item "from his kiosk." I said " thats ridiculous, how am I supposed to be aware of other items in your kiosk? There is only ONE chili cheese fries option on the menu." He replied with whether or not I wanted a refund, but I told him I didn't have time to argue or wait for him to fix his mistake because I was on break. Service was fast. Inside was pretty clean. Hot sauce and ketchup on every table. Only complaint was that my chicken soft tacos had barely any chicken in them. I have been a customer of this Del Taco since they first opened and I would of given you at least 4 stars but the new Torta that I saw on TV that got me excited to try was such a disappointment. Very little meat, very bland tasting and for the price was such a let down from all the good things I've had in the past at this store! who bothers to yelp a del taco for reviews on what exciting/unique things to try? Its a typical fast food chain on the lower tier of yumminess (INO is on the upper). Lets move to what I really wanna cover...The soda machine. I used to make fun of the soda machine here cuz its one of those "100+ drink choices" machines that looks like a red box at albertsons but it has a coke logo on it. Theres only one spout, a handle to push for ice, a touchscreen of options, and a big fat button that says push (that dispenses the selected drink). The screen has 22 drinks including water. I originally thought the trick was to mix your own drink like burger king features. I laughed at it because a good portion of the selections are just diet versions of the regular drinks so they're not really a "different" drink. So you initially select a basic/general drink choice like Sprite/Bargs/Coke/etc and the touchscreen will center on that drink. Heres the cool part. Below/surrounding the enlarged "base" drink will be these smaller bubble options of different flavored versions of that "base" drink. YEAA WOWW! For example lets take you selected Coke. [tap on coke] [screen refreshes to a big centered bubble saying coke w/smaller bubbles around it]...[they read...raspberry coke, cherry coke, cherry vanilla coke, vanilla coke, orange coke, lime coke...] YEA LIME COKE! so for people that love a lime hard candy, a limecicle, or a water with a slice of lime when they eat out....yes do visit to try this funky awesome machine. it comes out with a hint of green too which also amuses me. read more
