Outstanding! We loved this little cannoli shop, tucked away in a side street in Covington! We got 6 cannoli to go, with Thanksgiving themed flavors: - Cranberry Vodka w/Spiced Pecans - Apple Pie Bourbon - Pumpkin Pie - Hazelnut - Chocolate Chip (2) Every one of them was delicious! The most amazing cream fillings, fabulous flavors, and crispy wrapper. And they looked great too. So well done! The store was small and cute. We knew it was cannolis only but you can get a coffee or wine and eat it there if you want. The owner/baker was very personable; we felt so welcome. Found street parking. You'll have to navigate around their limited hours but we made a quest of visiting on a Friday evening. Loved it and will be back for more!
After trying practically every wedding cake shop in the Tri-State, my fiancé and I had all but given up hope on having a dessert we both loved at our wedding. That is, until we discovered Del Gardo's. We set up a tasting through email, and had no idea how much we would love these cannolis until we visited the Covington storefront. Steve, the owner/chef/one-man-band had a beautiful platter of cannolis waiting for us to enjoy ... each flavor was just as delicious as the last. My favorite was the Cookie Butter cannoli, followed closely by the original (because who doesn't love a classic?) Del Gardo's boasts 100+ flavors, but they rotate out every week, so you may never get the same one twice. The shop itself is only open Friday's and Saturday's as an "adult dessert bar," where you can enjoy cannolis and cocktails ... but Steve was very easy to get in contact with to place a special order, and went above and beyond throughout the tasting meet-up. He even sent us home with an extra box of cannolis, so we could savor each flavor again. If you're getting the run-around from wedding cake bakeries ... or if you just want to check out a dessert you don't eat nearly often enough, check out Del Gardo's!
Awesome cannoli! A MUST visit! If you haven't been to Covington, Kentucky - visit Madison Ave, aim for Hotel Covington, walk across the street and BOOM! You can leave the gun, but definitely take the cannoli!
The best cannolis I have ever had live here at Del Gardo's. While I have only visited during the pandemic and was not able to have a cocktail/wine in the store, it is charming on the inside. It is cozy. I have spent an ungodly amount of money here and it was worth every penny! He usually has the normal chocolate chip cannolis along with a few others. My favorite so far are all of them. What is most memorable is the cream itself, which you can buy a tub of for $20. Also, I love the new riff (bourbon) flavor and the lemon flavor. My goal is to try all the flavors. Nothing has disappointed me so far. Do yourself a favor and buy four or twenty of these! Support small business and your feed your tummy at the same time.
3.5! Del Gardo is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings and specializes in Cannolis. They do offer coffee and wine to sip and enjoy as well. The space is decent and isn't cramped. However it's a Cannoli bar and not a bakery. The Cannolis aren't baked fresh in front of you. They have a lot of interesting flavors. I tried the Reese's peanut butter one. It was good. The cream was nice and was sufficiently added. It was the right amount of sweet. However for about $4.25, it is a tiny Cannoli.
This place scores a solid 3.5. I wish I could add half stars, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't offer this feature. The shop was pleasant and inviting. I loved the Italian music and the general vibe. It's a great place to hangout or stop in to pick up your cannoli to go. Their to-go box is also beautiful and they score 5 stars for the packaging. Though they offer catering orders throughout the week, they only allow you to order single cannolo on Friday and Saturday from 6-10 pm. I really applaud their flavor combinations and have never seen a place as bold as this one. They make any flavor you can think of from Almond Joy to Irish Creme. I am really glad they opened this shop since nowhere else in Cincinnati can you order an authentic quality cannoli. I am an Italian American and have grown-up with cannoli. They are one of my favorite desserts and I have tried dozens of cannoli. My expectations you can say are high for this dessert and there are three criterion you must achieve to create a great cannoli. 1) The filling must be creamy, uniform and slightly sweet, 2) the shell must be crunchy or have some snap to it and 3) the cannoli must be completely filled with cream (no skimping out). Del Gardo's successfully achieved 2 out of the 3 criteria points I listed. Their filling tasted great and had a smooth texture. They filled the shell completely with cream. However... the shell was soft. Typically this happens when the cannoli have been sitting out for a while. For the price you pay and since this shop is dedicated only to cannoli, I'd expect a freshly filled cannoli that doesn't have a soft shell. To fix this, I suggest they don't have as many cannoli set-out in the case and make them only as their customers trickle in until they sell through them quicker. Nonetheless, I still recommend you visit this cool place and order a cannoli.
Went on a date night in Covington this weekend and had to try some cannolis from Del Gardo's! The cannoli shells were light, crips and airy! The flavors were BOMB! I got chocolate peanut butter, churro, red velvet and Oreo. I'm not sure if it's just this stage in my life but I love when desserts are not too sweet, you can make something delicious without adding more sugar and these were absolutely delicious!
The pistachio tiramisu is amazing! And the dulce de leche cannoli is so good! Glad I finally made it here. And I've been telling a lot of my friends about this place and all the flavors; now I can certainly vouch for how tasty the cannoli are.

I'd give 3.5 stars to Del Gardo's! We were on the hunt for cannolis when we came across Del Gardo's on yelp. I was excited because they specialized in cannolis, so I had high expectations. The shop itself is a cute, small store with nicely decorated interior seating and graffiti art on the walls. They have tons of flavors listed, but have only a limited selection available on the day. We ordered 1 of each flavor: chocolate chip, Kit Kat, Reese's, snickers, and creme brûlée. The 5 cannolis came out to ~$20, which was definitely pricey for their smaller size. The chocolate chip was my favorite because the classic ricotta flavor was stronger than in the others. The other flavors were novel and fun to try but did not have that classic flavor I was looking for. The other downside in addition to the cost was that the stuffing to shell ratio was much lower than I would've liked.

Finally made it to @delgardoscannoli These cannolis are as good as they look. Bring me back to my childhood in New York. Picked two more traditional cannolis. Chocolate chip and pistachio. Both were excellent. The chocolate chip was not too sweet. Great combo of the chocolate to the filling and the crunch of the shell. That pistachio though brought me back for sure. Just a smooth delicate almost creamy flavor. These happened both be ricotta based filling. Just like I remember growing up. A lot of their artisan flavors are marscarpone based. Can't wait to try them next! Also they make a great cappuccino but you can have or wine too. Just wish they had a little more seating but so much of their business is takeout. Limited weekend evening hours but you can order your own. Great dessert stop after dinner. Try it out. You won't be disappointed!
I was randomly searching for desserts near me one day and came across Del Gardo's in Covington, Kentucky. It's a whole shop dedicated to cannolis!! I had never heard of a cannoli bar in/near Cincy so obviously we had to try it. They have so many fun flavors like black raspberry chip, French toast, and more. Our favorites were the chocolate chip and lemon ricotta cheesecake cannolis. The filling was super light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness, making them really easy to eat without feeling too heavy. Such a fun little spot if you're wanting to switch up your usual dessert run. read more

Small downtown area in Covington, KY has Del Gardos, the owner is a Long Island transplant that sells a great selection of mini calzones of different flavors as well as tri color cookies. All the ingredients come from the east coast. Well executed in this small town. read more
I was really excited to come here, as I had heard great things from a local foodies page. The hours are a bit tricky but I happened to be in the area for dinner one night and stopped by with the bf. The owner was sitting on a chair, on his cell, and jumped up to greet us. The store is down a street not well-lit at night and large for the little bit of product he had. He explained the flavors to us and I was immediately surprised at how tiny they were. We went with four, each a different flavor, and again with them being so small, I was surprised to pay $17. I was considering a piece of the tiramisu but didn't feel like splurging more until after tasting the quality of what we already purchased. We thanked the owner and headed out with them to-go. Let me start by saying that cannoli's are my bf's all time favorite dessert and he has tried them many, many places, some very authentic. He was so excited to finally get to enjoy these! However, upon getting to indulge shortly after, neither of us were impressed...at all. The shells were okay, the PB one was straight PB inside and too heavy (a PB flavored cream would have been so much nicer/lighter), and two of the four weren't filled inside, one being completely empty (you couldn't initially tell because there were hard icing dots at each end). Empty cannolis? See pic and insert heartbreak. The orange one had such a fake imitation orange flavor I spit it out. The original one was best but just okay. Judging by so many good reviews, we may have just caught this place on an off night but for the price and quality, we won't be back. read more

This was a great experience! H/t Chowdown Cincinnati for the recommendation. The owner really has the NYC game and charm going on. The cannolis were crisp and delicious. We do not normally enjoy dessert, but this was def worth it. Dear 3.5 star reviewers. We see you. THE CANNOLI KING. PRICE 4/5 You can usually find a cannoli for around $3. However, these aren't your typical cannolis and some are alcohol infused. Four cannolis came to about $15 but Mr. Del Gardo A.K.A. 'The Cannoli Guy' (although we've dubbed him King) could get away with charging more so be greatful. LOCATION 5/5 The shop's location is in the perfect place to stop into while in the city on either side of the river but ducked off just enough to not have to combat terrible traffic or parking. QUALITY 5/5 From 82 flavors (which are not all available daily) you have to love one. That's just law of probability. If you're a tightA$* and somehow don't find a cannoli flavor that suits you, you're bound to fall in love with the King himself anyway. He runs the shop himself and is all-around a cool human-being. & Look at that smile! read more

The cannolis are yummy, the space is welcoming, the owner and staff are pleasant, and they sell beer & wine so I really can't think of any reason to give them less than 5 stars! I finally made it here for the first time and within 24 hours I was back for a second time! :) They have a vast array of flavor combinations and usually post special flavors on Instagram. I brought a box of cannolis to my friend's house and they were a big hit! read more

The owner is super friendly and energetic however I wasn't super impressed with the cannoli. They were tiny and each one is $4. I honestly expected them to be super sized for that price. The flavors were just meh and the vibes inside the shop were so confusing. It's like metal diner type tables, graffiti walls, chandeliers and then like 1940s music. What is the direction here? I know people typically do bulk catering orders here for special occasions and that's probably what I would do if I wanted them again because going here for just one or two sweet after dinner treats is not something I would be interested in after my first visit. read more

I highly recommend Del Gardos's for Cannoli class. Had a great time with the girls tonight. Steve is the owner and MasterChef -he is extremely entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of cannolis. Most importantly they're amazingly delicious! read more

I made a special trip to Del Gardo's amidst a St. Patricks day dinner party to try the holiday specials they had on the menu as the opening time is 6pm. I'd been wanting to come out for some time and try the pretty and decadent looking options they often have. I knew I wanted the Irish Slammer with the liquor infused cannoli cream. I didn't ask how much they were, just ordered from the delightful owners (presumably). The packaging and presentation were top notch. That's where I am saddened to write this, for the rest wasn't as I'd hoped. The cannolis tasted okay but the problem is they were barely filled with cream, which is the MAIN point of a cannoli. I have a picture of so you don't think I'm being unreasonable in saying this. This was every one of the cannolis not just this one, which also inspired me to write about this. Not to mention the liquor in the filling wasn't detectable at all. For almost $4.50 a piece I didn't feel it was worth it, nor did the people I shared them with. Hopefully this is a one off for Del Gardo's. read more
