I needed a tree replaced, the old one removed and a new turf for my professionally installed (initially) putting green. After about $3000 paid to Deiby, all I have is the old tree removed. The new tree never came to life and I informed Deiby about it several times. He said he would replace it. Never did. I was in a wheelchair at the time and could not inspect the putting green; but when I could walk I noticed that it had a huge open seam in the middle of it. It was supposed to be one piece. No one can putt on that. Asked for replacement but never got it. All the other bad reviews. are the same experience I had. I didn't check first because a good neighbor swore by Deiby. **TLDR: He took $12,200 for work he never did, disappeared for two months, and wouldn't make it right despite many chances. Now in formal complaints process.** We hired Deibys for a substantial backyard renovation including flagstone, pergola, patio, lawn, drip irrigation, gate, and landscape lighting, among other work. To be fair, the flagstone work he did complete was done well, and we genuinely think he's a capable contractor who may just have more on his plate than he can manage. But at some point you have to confront that and make it right. He kept $12,200 of our money for work that was never done. That's on top of a larger contract where we already paid even more than that for the work he did complete. Nearly two months went by with no progress. Every time we reached out he would ghost us and then reappear with an excuse and promise to come back and finish but he never did. We worked out a new arrangement to give him a chance to make things right, he agreed, then ghosted us again. We were genuinely accommodating and gave him every opportunity to work through this with us. Looking back, there were signs we ignored. He lied a few times, sometimes small things, sometimes not. As long as the work was getting done we let the small things go. We wish we hadn't. At one point, one of the guys on his team came to our house and started banging on the front and back doors looking to get paid. We had already paid Deibys on time and in full, so somehow this guy didn't get the money. We usually come to Yelp to write positive reviews. We tried everything to resolve this privately and to avoid writing a public review. We gave him more chances than most people would (we even offered a bonus if he would return our money and come back and complete the work on paid-as-complete basis). In the end we just want our money back so we can move on and stop living with a dust and mud pit in our backyard and watching our plants die, when we could be celebrating family holidays in our yard together. We had to file a formal complaint to try to get our money back. Save yourself the headache. read more

The work he does can be really good. When something goes wrong or needs adjusting, he will not answer or show up for weeks. I spent over $5,000 on landscaping with new lighting and soaker sprinkler system and plants. Two joints came undone and water was flooding the backyard. They came to fix it and turned on a sprinkler manually to test. They forgot to turn it off and it ran for two days (I did not know it was happening since it was all below ground). The sprinklers did not run for two weeks while they adjusted something else and all the new plants died. He said he would replace the plants and always had emergencies with his family, out of town, on vacation or would say he would be there and just not show up or text. To say he is very unreliable is an understatement. My friend used him so I did and then I found out she had to threaten him with a lawsuit to finish her job after she paid him upfront. I would never recommend him based on problems with showing up and paying. He also said his credit card square did not work so wanted to be paid in cash. $5,000 in cash- um NO. read more

This guy is a liar, a cheater and most recently he has become a huge disappointment. Unfortunately I've used him for almost 6 years and he has just stopped coming on scheduled days... he did this once before for a few months and I was stupid enough to hire him back. He never follows through on even simple things like project quotes. He tells you he will be there tomorrow, but of course no-shows with yet another excuse... and another excuse.... I have reached out to him over and over again and no response. Yet he is always happy to take my money.... Today I had to go to his home as he has once again just stopped coming and I paid him for 10 bags of fertilizer which has never been delivered. Now after constantly reaching out to him, he finally paid me back for them. He has broken walls, broken trees, killed areas of grass, I honestly don't know how he stays in business. We found this company via Yelp and started talking to Deiby since beginning of October. Within a few days he responded quickly and promised to get work done quickly which his crew came and pulled our lawn pretty much in one day. He asked for half payment and asked to get work done for backyard also and we agreed. Then no show for a few days and no messages. Took two weeks and finally we thought work was completed. Our backyard sprinklers started leaking after they finished and it was from them bursting the pipes. We contacted him and took couple days to come back. Now it was October 31 and we found out front lawn water system was not capped and we could not water the front plants that they placed. My husband contacted him multiple times and after Thanksgiving he messaged him again and he said his crew came by and said no leak. We have cameras in front that recorded his crew did not even stop to look just drive passed our house. Then he made all the excuses that his crew member got hurt, he had big projects going on, his crew broke someone sprinkler pipe etc etc. the problem is HE DID NOT LET US KNOW WHEN HE PROMISED TO SHOW AND DID NOT SHOW. He doesn't even have the courtesy to let customer know he will not come by so now this is March 2023, literally since end of October we have been waiting for him to finish his job that he promised. He will promise you a "full service" to get your business but at the end after a couple of months its dwindled to less than half of what he promises. He confirms the time of the visit, however, he fails to show up on time. He never sends any updates. One day he says his wife is in labor and he could not call. The next morning he rescheduled and the same thing happened. he did not call not show up. He later claimed he has COVID. I completely understand. But what kept him from letting me know so that I did not have to waste my time? He needs to learn to value other people's time. Be very careful if you decide to hire him. After he visited my property and told him what I wanted, he gave me better suggestions to save money. You don't hear that very often from contractors. The following morning he sent me an estimate and I signed the contract later that day. The following day he started work, which included demo of cement, grass, and shrubs. I added new stamped cement, a stucco pony wall, plants, irrigation and low voltage lighting. He completed the entire project in 6 days straight!
