I highly recommend Advanced Concrete Specialists and will definitely use them again for any future projects. After the city of Cerritos removed a parkway tree that had uprooted the sidewalk and driveway, I found them through Yelp to replace the driveway. I liked the fact that they were family-owned and had been in business for over 60 years. Case was soon on site to inspect the proposed project and offer his expert recommendations. Among the several quotes I received, his was by far the most professionally presented. Without hesitation, I selected Advanced Concrete Specialists and I was not disappointed. Case, Gary, Pamela and their team could not have been more professional and thorough in their work. Case patiently worked with me as I delayed the project multiple times while coordinating my project with the city's separate public works sidewalk replacement project. Gary and his team were efficient and so friendly to work with as I took several pictures of the many tree roots they had to remove from beneath the old driveway. The entire project was largely completed in two days: one day devoted to driveway, tree root removal and grading and the second day devoted to laying down the rebar and concrete, giving the new driveway a nice finish and hauling away tree roots. After a weekend spent letting the concrete dry, they were promptly out on Monday morning to pull up stakes, hose everything down and provide a final cleanup. Moved into our place a few years ago and wanted to redo the patio and backyard a bit just to freshen it up and to get more space out of it. Prior to advanced concrete specialist coming in and working their magic, water didn't drain properly and would create puddles, despite there being cover overhead. I reached out to advanced concrete specialist and got a quote. I actually received several, but they were the only ones that actually came out, looked at the scope of the project, and asked me questions. All the others provided quote by the pictures I sent in. The team moved super fast, especially considering this was during the most recent storm. It took them two days to clear about 550 sq ft of cement and dirt and place the rebars down. Had it not been scheduled to rain that weekend, I'm confident they would have poured as well. It took approximately 3 total days for everything to be done, the rain delay extended it to be just over a week. Definitely recommend this company. read more

My father has been working with this company for over 30 years. This was the first time that I have project managed one of their jobs. My father has used ACS for a wide range of projects both large, small, commercial, and residential. The project I managed was fairly large for an existing residential property. We replaced a garage slab, replaced and widened the driveway, and replaced and widened the driveway apron. Lots of demolition work and rebar installation. It was an absolute pleasure working with Case, his son Gary, and the work crew. It was clearly evident from start to finish that I was working with people that were professional caring experts. Reacting to very good reviews here for this business, I contacted them for a price quote for my driveway slab. They gave me a phone quote which I liked and the estimator promised to look at the site the next day and get back to me. He didn't. I waited and called and waited and called. I finally went into their office and was told that they wanted the job and the estimator, who wasn't there, would get back to me that afternoon. He didn't. Meanwhile, my completely dug and prepared driveway had sat for a week and, nearing a vacation trip, I was getting stretched for time. (I had made the fatal mistake of not getting other bids since this company was rated so highly.) So I emailed them explaining my disappointment with their lack of customer courtesy. I was firm but not over the top. Amazingly, I got an email back with a final quote attached, but also an odd explanation of how they had not been at fault for bad customer courtesy or lying to me since I had "unusually high expectations". I can't really figure that one out. read more

They really know how to do business. They provided a detailed, thorough and accurate estimate for a 250 sq ft. side yard walkway, with 65 sq ft of it raised (51/2") for a platform/foundation for a shed (all one pour). The estimate included excavation, old concrete removal, rebar installation, and foundation bolt installation. Their estimate was $808.00 less than another local business's estimate which lacked the above details and quoted an innacurate square footage of 330 sq ft. I had a diagram of what I needed and Gary completely understood all the details. The crew was extremely professional on both days they worked. The walkway and shed platform with foundation bolts is a work of art. The finish is perfect, the expansion joints are perfectly spaced, the foundation bolts are perfectly placed, and the drainage is also perfect. The crew left the area very clean. I would bother calling anyone else in the Long Beach Yellow pages (I used another business in the past and wasn't half as impressed as I am with Advanced Concrete).
