We recently purchased a home and the backyard was "old". Bushes growing together, dips and holes in the yard, patchy areas and each border around the house were completely different. Julio and Team arrived and completely bulldozed the yard and cleared bushes. They installed artificial grass, created new borders and planted a ton of plants for me. The yard looks absolutely amazing! More importantly, the workers were very nice, polite and finished the project on time. They had a "can do" spirit. I wish I had more work, I hated to see them go! read more

Excellent work at a fair price that's Castillo Landscaping. We researched several Orange County landscaping companies and felt for what was being offered the prices were too high and so happy to have found Julio and his team!Julio, his dad and Kevin were absolutely wonderful and considerate and thoughtful of our property. We had our backyard grass replaced after many years of much needed work and they also were able to clear out a lot of the extra greenery that grew during the rainy season. They did an absolute phenomenal job and Julio also texted us detailed care instructions on our new sod/grass and programmed our sprinkler system! So thoughtful! Give them a chance. read more

We've worked with Julio and his team on several projects over the past couple of years and they've consistently met our expectations. They helped us update our backyard by installing decomposed granite around a large tree, pouring a concrete slab, and landscaping the surrounding area. When another contractor applied the wrong stain to our fence, Julio stepped in to correct the mistake. He was patient, communicative, and worked with us to get the color right. We recently had someone from the company do some landscaping. The work was satisfactory, though the quote felt quite high. I would suggest requesting an itemized breakdown of plant costs and labor. I also asked for quotes on landscape lighting, concrete work, and ongoing plant maintenance, but never received a response, which was disappointing. read more

Castillo Landscaping was great to work with. Family owned company. Professionals and started off with good communication. Spoke good English and gave good suggestions. Julio who came and did estimate was also working on the project every day which was helpful for any issues that came up. Kevin was super helpful and answered questions whenever Julio wasn't available. Great team of people that came out to work on making our backyard visions into a reality. Everything they did was quality work and finished in a timely manner. Price wasn't the cheapest but also not the most expensive so I'd say they're also pretty reasonable with pricing and able to work with your budget. Definitely recommend working with them if you're looking to elevate your yard space. read more

Julio and his office manager Carmen were the first to contact me after I made a few calls off the list Yelp provided me for lawn replacement and landscaping services. My front yard was in need of major TLC and I wanted to get this done before the heat started up for the summer. Julio was out the following day to survey my job and I am pretty intuitive and I had good vibes from Julio upon his arrival and talking to him for awhile. When Julio quoted me on new grass and sprinkler service I wasn't sure what the going rate is these days... It's not something you do very often and I had no idea but I did ask Julio if he was confident with the price he was quoting and with zero hesitation he replied "Yes". This is what I do and for a long long time and you can believe that I will do an excellent job for you. Right then and there we shook hands and he was back the next day prepping my front yard, fixing the sprinker piping, replacing sprinkler heads, new borders around flower bed (Not Included) and installing a new sprinker timer system all while prepping for the new grass to be delivered the next day. In just wo days I had beautiful new grass and we were very happy with the work Julio had provided. My neighbors were almost as happy as we were. I told Julio that I never got another quote because I knew he would follow thru. And that he did... Unfortunately, we got a bad batch of grass. Friday they had installed the grass and over the weekend the grass had started dying. But I believed it would come back and by Monday night it was brown. Fortunately, I called Carmen and Julio showed up on Tuesday to evaluate the situation. With no hesitation, Julio made a call and told me not to worry. We will remove the bad grass and install new grass in two days. In two days Julio and his team came back and did just as he had promised. Julio is a man of his word and can back it with happy customers like us. Grass is as gorgeous as gorgeous can be. We are happy and yes, my neighbors are happy to see how great of a job Julio and company did for us. We appreciate Julio and the entire team at Castillo Landscaping. read more

This is the fourth time I've hired Castillo Landscaping. The first time was about a year ago for tree trimming on my first rental property in Signal Hill. The second time was to remove two sizeable unhealthy palm trees. The third time was for my second rental property in Signal Hill for a new gravel front yard, decomposed granite rear patios, and tree trimming. They handle the Biweekly maintenance service. The fourth time was again for the first property to replace all dead sod with new, repair the sprinkler system, remove another tree, add gravel to the parkway, and all new concrete front patio and extension to the driveway. They handle the Biweekly maintenance service. As always very professional, clean, respectful, and honest team! Julio worked with me patiently to review many options to fit my needs and budget. read more

Long overdue review. Helped my mom look for a landscaping company for her rental home. It was overgrown with weeds so she wanted to get concrete poured to stop the growth. I found CASTILLO LANDSCAPING to have the best reviews in our area. Asked for a quote and Julio got back to me asap. He was very friendly and easy to talk to about ideas. We asked several companies but felt that CASTILLO would be the best to serve us with their excellent communication and service. They were always on time and did what they said they'll do. Would recommend to others! read more

Been meaning to write an update. We originally had Castillo Landscaping remove our grass and put in DG . Two years later we were tired of the upkeep with weeds after a rainy winter so we called them up again to do our concrete. JR is always great at communicating and came by 3-4 times to check in and work ideas with us. He was patient as we decided what we wanted to do based on our budget. The concrete and curb planter look great and we still have a planting space but its a way better space for our toddler. We love it so much and are so grateful for the whole team that came by and made our space usable. My husband has been following along on social media and these guys do amazing big jobs, we are just such a small little project compared to the great work they do. read more

They did a good job of removing all the grass. They were professional & efficient. We recommend them.

I never write reviews but I had to for Julio at Castillo Landscaping. The project itself came out amazing and the quality of the work is perfect as you can see in the photos. But the best thing was the professionalism and work ethic of Julio and his crew. Julio was so communicative about everything from the start, from the initial meeting for a quote to the final checks at the end of the project. He was here everyday working with his crew and was so easy to work with. He was quick with information and estimates, even calling the utilities and city for us regarding lines and permit needs. Even the heavy rains we had didn't slow him down, he timed it all so that we finished faster than expected. He had the most reasonable quote and any added costs were communicated throughout and we got such a high quality and beautiful finished front yard and garden that looks more expensive than it was. I will for sure call Castillo Landscaping for our backyard redo- I highly, highly recommend them! read more

Truly a pleasure to work with Julio and his team. He was honest and transparent with his work and his pricing reflected it. He and his team, provided honest feedback and maintained the utmost professionalism. He executed the project in the exact timeframe he projected (incredibly rare in this field). They did both our concrete and landscape, and never jeopardized the quality. Strongly recommend them for your future projects. read more

I can't recommend Castillo Landscaping enough! Our front yard was a mess and our sprinkler system was broken. I'd been wanting to redo my yard for a while and Julio was able to perfectly capture my vision. He was really helpful and courteous, even with a few unexpected problems like my sprinklers creating a geyser in my front yard. They were very responsive. The yard looks great now! He did such a great job that we're planning to have him do our backyard as well in the future. read more

Castillo Landscaping just completed our brick walkway and new steps. The craftsmanship far exceeded my expectations. I am in awe of the quality and expertise that went into it. The design is absolutely beautiful. From beginning to end of the project they were always professional, curtious, and patient, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend working with Castillo Landscaping for your outdoor projects! I had such a positive experience with Julio and his team. I was so pleased with their professionalism and work ethic from start to finish. We had pavers installed in the front and backyard, a new driveway, sod, and irrigation. I received a very detailed proposal/ contract that outlined the scope of work, cost for each task, breakdown for labor and materials, payment schedule, etc. Most contractors are not this detailed. He communicated with us daily, throughout the day, so we always knew what was going on with the project. He shopped around for materials, to keep the cost low and I was provided receipts for each purchase. The quality of the work really exceeded expectations. Our front and backyard look so much better. I would definitely work with again. read more

I recently remodeled my backyard and I am very glad I decided to hire Castillo Landscaping. After my initial call, Julio was able to schedule an appointment within the next couple of days. Julio was very knowledgeable and insightful and had a clear understanding of my goals for my backyard. After taking all the required measurements, Julio came back with a very reasonable, itemized estimate. Once work began, Julio and his entire crew were there every day, from morning to evening, until the entire job was done. Julio was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process. We have worked with Castillo Landscaping twice now, and had the greatest experiences each time. They are responsive, reasonably priced, always punctual, professional, and extremely easy to work with. In 2019, we worked with their team to remove old and withering trees, bushes, and plants from the border of our backyard. The Castillo team re-landscaped the area with gravel, succulents, and a drip watering system. In 2021, we worked with the Castillo team to remove our grass, replace it with artificial grass, and trim our larger trees. We are thrilled with Castillo Landscaping's services, and we highly recommend them for their expertise and exceptional work. Julio Sr., Julio Jr., Victor, Ruben, and Marvin are the best! They truly did wonders with transforming our backyard, for which we are so grateful to their team, and look forward to working with them again in the future. read more

We are so incredibly thrilled with the work Castillo Landscaping did for us! We finally have the backyard we've been dreaming of. Julio Jr & Sr were so professional from the first time we contacted them. They were quick to respond, understood our vision even though we weren't sure how to convey it, and even expanded on it. They were realistic with timeliness and were always quick to respond with any questions or concerns we had. Our project only took them 2 weeks and I believe it would have been done sooner if the sod were available earlier! We weren't sure we would be able to find a team to help us after all of the other companies we had contacted that either ghosted us, didn't understand what we wanted, or were asking for a small fortune. We can't wait until we are ready to renovate our front yard... we know they will do an excellent job. read more

Castillo landscaping has been excellent to work with on our home landscaping projects. I couldn't recommend them more. They are very professional, transparent with all their quotes and they have a very skilled crew and estimator. The crew is very respectful and mindful of the recently renovated portions of our property and completed their work with care and left it spotlessly clean. We've used them twice so far, our first experience with them was for our front yard -- we hired them pour new slabs at our driveway and entryway and install DG. Our second project was pouring slabs and laying gravel in our backyard. I had drawn a plan of what I wanted and they followed it to a tee. The backyard made a complete transformation from complete mess to an oasis for us and our daughter to escape to. We will be hiring them for future projects. Castillo Landscaping turned our backyard from a place of stress into a place of zen. We extended our San Augustine grass area for the kids and he installed commercial gopher mesh with timer ran sprinklers. He installed professional Ortho Villa in Manor pavers giving us a generous hardscape for entertaining. He installed pea gravel to a section of our yard previously covered in dirt for an added area available for entertaining without the 'concrete/hardscape look to blend together three separate areas of our yard. The grass and pea gravel is blocked in with metal borders which gives it a polished look. We left a three foot border around the perimeter for privacy trees. They executed our request with precision and made suggestions with no pressure every step of the way. We went from a yard that took weekly maintenance to look acceptable to a peaceful setting that will take a maximum of half an hour every few weeks to maintain- aside from the twice a year trimming of trees. What this crew dod was give me a no hassle sanctuary we can retreat to and enjoy with minimal effort. They were always quick to respond with every communication, patient in the decision making process before even booking the job and extremely respectful of start and end times with careful attention to our property. In a lot of ways hiring a professional is like entering a relationship and i have no regrets with this one and believe me, we shopped around before coming to our decision. You will not he disappointed, contact Castillo Landscaping now and fond out for yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. , read more

Im a little late in posting this but its long over due. We couldn't be happier with how our backyard turned out. It started off as a bunch of dead grass and weeds. A couple of weeks of hard and detailed work later and we can finally enjoy our house to the fullest. They were able to strip away the grass, weeds, undesired plants, and a ton of dirt... trim down our tree... demolish and take away an old brick divider... set up a retaining wall with character... lay down DG, play area bark, and artificial turf... set up an auto sprinkler system... And planted some initial shrubs to get the garden started (with the ability to easily add on and update the sprinklers). Amazing stuff. Really nice and incredibly professional folks. Im thankful to have met them let alone work with them. I cant wait to reach out to them for the next project. read more
