As part of planning our friends' baby shower, finding a gluten free bakery was a must. Thankfully, one of them had stumbled upon Defloured when exploring Andersonville. We filled out a thorough form and reached out to their team a couple of months before the shower. Kelly emailed us back confirming our vision and what they could do for us and everything was confirmed within days. Fast forward to our delivery day, we were contacted via text with an estimated delivery time and not only were they on time, they gave us pro tips to ensure our baked goods remained fresh for our guests later that day. I think the photos speak for themselves, but the Defloured team did a beautiful job with our themed cake and their cookie and bar tray was also delicious. Equally as important, our guests with celiac raved about their experience consuming them.

My friend ordered from here for a girls game night. It is a gluten free bakery! The treats were delicious! We had snickerdoodle cookies, brownies and cake pops. The cookies were so soft and very tasty! Can't wait to try more items.

Defloured is a GF bakery that offers cakes, bars, cupcakes, cookies, sandwich cookies, whoopie pies, scones, breads, cake pops, bundts, cream puffs, and event bake-at-home chicken pot pies. I tried their Raspberry Bar, and it was pretty good - there was a food ratio of the crunch and the raspberry filling. This was refrigerated, so it was a little hard - not sure if one could 'thaw' it out or warm it up a bit, which I'm sure it would have been better. Very easy to place orders - they only request that it's made in about 7-10 days in advance. Friendly service! +GF bakery +tasty raspberry bars

Stopped by to pick up a birthday treat for a bestie of mine that is gluten free. There is absolutely a reason for this establishment to have the well known reputation in the city for serving and baking some of the best gluten and vegan desserts around. Prepare to wait rain or shine outside of the bakery, they will come and personally take your order. Pick your items from the window, full cake options available upon request. We picked a carrot cake and also took a small box of baked goods for a snack! Tried the chocolate zucchini Bundt cake. Oh my word, moist and truly decadent. Whether you are gluten free or not, everyone MUST try defloured!

My favorite guilty pleasure as of late has been the Defloured vanilla cake slice. It is SO good. It is light and fluffy and the vanilla frosting is amazing. It tastes like something homemade you'd make in your own kitchen. Absolutely love it and can't wait to try some of their other cakes!

This gluten-free bakery serves up some amazing, high-quality treats, and they have several vegan options to choose from as well. All of the bakery options are displayed in the windowfront, and a store employee will come outside to take your order. It makes sense to not have everyone crammed into a limited space inside. Whether you are gluten-free or just like delicious treats, this bakery is a must-stop.

Was at a birthday party that had their carrot cake and as someone who would never seek out something gluten free, this cake was amazing.

Do they have dairy free cakes?

They do offer some products that are dairy free. Not all, but some. If you look on their website under "goodies", you can see which ones are also dairy free.

From frosted cookies, cupcakes, and even cake by the slice, they also sell pies (including by the slice), brownies, scones, and all kinds of other goodies. There's definitely something for everyone (With a sweet tooth) here. It's a great spot! This location in particular had a lot of seating, as well, and is also accessible from the Northwestern Med building or from the street! I especially loved the Cookie Monster cupcake. Vanilla cake with a chocolate chip cookie baked at the bottom, with chocolate buttercream. I think. It was DELICIOUS! The perfect sweet treat!

A Longtime Fan, but Lately... a Mixed Bag at Sweet Mandy B's…read more I've been a loyal Sweet Mandy B's customer for more than five years. In that time, I've raved about their desserts to friends, hosted celebrations with their cakes, and considered them one of my go-to bakeries in the city. But over the last 12-18 months, something has shifted and the experience has become surprisingly hit or miss. The first indicator was a slice of their snickerdoodle cake that we tried several months ago. The cupcake had always been a favorite so we thought we would try the cake slice, but this time it arrived disappointingly dry. A few weeks later, we tried the banana cake slice, and it was a completely different story, moist, flavorful, and topped with a rich chocolate frosting that reminded me why I fell in love with Sweet Mandy B's in the first place. Their cupcakes were another longtime love of mine. However, they now come standard with sprinkles or chips on top. When I asked if I could get one without those toppings, I was told I'd need to place a custom order (which can't be done for a single cupcake). It felt surprisingly inflexible for such a small request. For a recent birthday, I ordered a yellow cake with chocolate icing. Unfortunately, it landed on the "miss" side of the spectrum, dry and crumbly. Thirteen guests tried it, and more than one commented that even a boxed mix would've tasted better. Lastly, we picked up the peanut butter Rice Krispies treats, a nostalgic favorite. These, too, were disappointing: stale, tough to cut, and ultimately left unfinished because no one enjoyed them. Bottom line: Sweet Mandy B's still has the ability to wow when they get it right. But the inconsistency in quality has become hard to overlook. As a longtime fan, I'm really hoping they return to the delicious reliability that made them such a standout in the first place.

For my graduation cake, I chose the tres leches and it was so creamy, moist, and delicious. I basically ate half of the cake by myself lol. We got two cupcakes to share -- the purple velvet and the main squeeze. The purple velvet is ube butter cake, ube mousse, and ube cake crumbs. The ube flavor is both sweet and nutty and the mousse topping was light and delicious. The main squeeze is lemon cake filled with lemon curd, cream cheese frosting, and a buttercream lemon on top. Both were incredible, but my favorite was the lemon! I loved that the lemon flavor was light, and the cream cheese frosting balanced it out really nicely. The space is so cute inside! It's also a lot larger than I was expecting. We grabbed a seat at one of the tables inside to enjoy our treats. I will definitely be back with my toddler for a cupcake date soon!
