Have been here a couple times and everything is really tasty! The desserts are made of real fruits and you can taste it in every bite

I'm absolutely in love with Amande Dessert! This place feels like a little piece of Paris in the city. Their macarons are the best I've ever tried - perfectly delicate, not too sweet, and full of flavor. My personal favorites are mango, passion fruit, and chocolate. And their cheesecakes... wow. Creamy, rich, and beautifully balanced. The owners are incredibly kind, attentive and genuinely care about every single guest. If you're in Chicago and love desserts, this spot is a must.

Walked in for just a couple of macarons. Ended up getting 2 cheesecakes that were instantly devoured. For 8 macarons and 2 cheesecakes we paid about $48 total which incredibly reasonable. Viktor was excellent. He explained every macaroon flavor and even asked if we had allergies before recommending flavors. Super attentive. Can't wait to come back and try their merengue roll and take a couple more cheesecakes home! Definitely becoming a regular

Pastries everywhere on display, way too many good options to choose from. But I came for one thing. A classic Saucisson Sec Sandwich. Been chasing that since I had it in Paris. And yeah... this one hit. The baguette was exactly how it should be. Crusty, a little toasty, nice crunch when you bite in, but soft inside. The butter was simple but made a big difference, creamy and just enough to bring everything together. The sausage had that deep, cured flavor, a little salty, a little earthy. Then the cornichons cut through it with that sharp, tangy bite. Every bite had that mix of crunch, richness, and acidity, just done right. That's what made it so good. Place itself is cozy, and the people working there were great. I'll definitely be back... still thinking about those pastries too.

Everything from here is most impressive and YOU WILL RETURN! The owner and staff are very friendly and are very appreciative of your visit. Fantastic customer service and never, ever rushed. Quite busy, rightfully so, but the line moves right along quickly. I have purchased practically everything over the years for myself, my company and my church and have had nothing but incredible responses. There are many choices of the tastiest authentic breads, pastries, etc. plus there is that cozy place to enjoy a fabulous soup and authentic French sandwich plus perhaps dessert. This is a true gem in Old Town!! Great history online about the award-winning owner in France and the US, plus his years in the business and proven techniques with pictures. The green and white color palette immediately reminded me of Ralph's Coffee. It felt classic and polished but still charming. Everyone working there had a smile on their face, and the warmth felt so genuine and comforting, especially first thing in the morning. They had such a huge selection of pastries and cakes that it was honestly hard to choose. I ended up getting the cake shaped like a cherry because it looked so interesting. It was a black cherry cake and I paired it with a cappuccino. It was the perfect combination. The cake was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with a small side salad. It was fine, but not the standout for me. If I came back, which I would, I would probably stick to the pastries and coffee and try more of their baked goods instead. Service was amazing. The ambience was adorable. I loved how all the silverware, plating, and dinnerware matched that perfect green tone. Every detail felt intentional. It was just perfect.

The food was really excellent, as was the service. But it was ridiculously priced. The reuben sandwich was $28. It was a great sandwich, very lean, but you could get a sandwich as good for half the cost elsewhere. They only have a couple of kid's items, but my friend requested buttered noodles for her kid rather than the cheesy noodles. I got the hibiscus drink and lavender lemonade, both non-alcoholic, and they were very good. My little one especially liked the hibiscus. And we ordered the appetizer of whipped ricotta and honey; my daughter liked this more than anything else we ordered. We didn't have dessert at the restaurant, but ordered to go. The pot of gold was really good. There were little "gold nuggets" on it and that was my daughter's favorite part; good thing since I didn't realize it had a layer with Bailey's in it. It was very rich, and the cauldron was really thick chocolate (and actually was a struggle to get into, a bit!). The restaurant is small but it didn't feel crowded. We never felt rushed or unwelcome, and we were there for a couple hours (longer than I realized; it took an unusually long time to make two reuben sandwiches). Their pastries are really nice but somewhat expensive, like the rest of the menu. It was a nice, sophisticated experience.

However, for a neighborhood dessert shop, these were as close to macaron perfection as can reasonably be expected. What I'm referring to is the crust/shell. If I'm correct, a textbook-perfect macaron shell is firm yet as delicate as a frozen soap bubble, with a much softer dough underneath. With these, I felt as though a hair (and I'm not exaggerating) of the firmness transferred from the shell to the dough. Again, I grant grace due to the inherent difficulty of perfecting this delicate pastry. Where these macarons truly shine, and do so more than any I've had previously, is their filling. I was able to try a salted caramel and a coffee. Both of these had very distinct flavors, not simply a generic sweetness with hints of something. I could have immediately identified these flavors, even if you hadn't told me what they were. While it was later in the evening and not busy, I still want to give points to the friendly and personable individual working behind the counter. Thus, while perhaps not a cross-town destination, Andersonville's Macaron Bar delivers products that can perfectly satisfy a sweet craving.

This is a fast casual spot so service was pretty fast. There is a decent amount of seating, most of which was surprisingly taken around 11am on a Thursday. For starters, they no longer have their rainbow cake! I was surprised to hear that considering how popular it's supposed to be. We got both banana lattes which were extremely sweet. It's basically dessert with a hint or caffeine. I'm a big fan of banana, so I actually liked this but I would've preferred half the sweetness. The Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant was so good! A solid breakfast sandwich - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey bacon was insanely crispy, and that sambal aioli was just what this needed. I highly recommend adding Avocado like I did for some freshness & creaminess since it's a heavy sandwich as is. The Cinnamon Roll was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed this breakfast!
