CREAM OF THE CROP Support this local , private owned business that offers a popular ( yet, unique to the States) Filipino treat, ready to eat or can be ordered for a gathering. Their signature Sylvanas really threw me for a loop upon tasting them. I think I had a preconceived idea of what they would be like. But in my mind they actually tasted different than what they looked like. The small ones were bite-sized. And looked kinda like a Macaroon to me. When you bite it it's actually very light and soft and airy. It resembles a wafer texture. The little wafer sandwich cookie had buttercream in it. But the butter cream was super light and not dense at all. When you think of buttercream, you think of cakes and super sweetness. But this was opposite. It was so light and barely sweet. Because they are so light you could probably pop a bunch of these and that could be dangerous The ube flan was also more dense than I thought it would be. You tend to think of flan as gelatinous yet creamy and coated in a nice sweet liquid. This one was dense and lightly sweet and was more of a créme bruleé consistency and taste. Overall the products are light. Since these desserts are not very sweet, they can probably be eaten at all times of the day. Unfortunately you can't sample the Sylvanas , but you can buy 3 minis for $5 to give them a whirl

I love seeing a new business pop up in our neighborhood, and Crumbs nd Creams is a very welcome addition! We stopped in today, their second day open, and were greeted by a friendly woman at the counter, who was then joined by a cheerful counterpart who was at the register. Their enthusiasm for the brand and excellent customer service stood out in a big way. It was later in the day, so their large Sylvanas were sold out. That worked in our favor as we opted for the 3 minis for $5. We certainly had a fantastic trio, with MATCHAlap being our favorite. If you favor matcha-flavored fare, you must try this! We also purchased the MOKAlit and 2Become1, which is inspired by leche flan. Their buttercream is outstanding and really stands out with the 2Become1. If you aren't too fond of coffee-flavored desserts, you may still like the MOKAlit, as its coffee-flavor is subtle. The interior is an intimate, inviting space with some merch for sale and a small seating area. I look forward to working through their menu!

Came here last week on a whim and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Crumb.nd.Creams is a family-owned bakery that makes authentic homemade silvanas. We got and LOVED the ube favor. Also highly recommend the original, flan, and butter pecan flavors but the ube was easily the star of the show.

Believe the hype. Such a cool place with great Filipino food & pastries…read more We usually get there around 8am or so. They open at 9. The line starts around then or earlier. I get the egg, cheese,& hash brown sandwich. The fluffy egg is magic. Potato bun is soft. Hash brown is crispy. The Ube latte is delicious hot or iced. But the star of the show is the pastries. That huckleberry basque is my favorite. Fast, friendly service. The outdoor patio is adorable. They bring your food out to you. Oh yeah, they stop some of the breakfast items at noon though. Go early.

By the time I completed my order, the pickup time was 12:15pm. However, it's nice to order from wherever you are and know what time to swing by for your pickup. When I got there, the line wasn't as crazy as I've seen photos of, but it was still long. You get to walk inside past the line for online pick up. There's a sign on the counter. They make any drinks you order fresh when you get there, and it's really quick too! Service was very friendly and fast inside! The ube latte was one of the best ube flavors I've had in an ube latte before. Highly recommend! I had it iced. The pork belly adobo (only available on weekends I think) was a little disappointing. It's very possible it wasn't that great because it might've been sitting a few minutes before I picked it up and then it was 15-20 minutes uber back to my hotel to eat it. Food is always better when eaten fresh, so I don't fault them for it. The egg was perfectly cooked. I thought the pork belly would be cut in bigger chunks like their photos online, but they were cut very small. I want to try the breakfast sandwich next time I'm in town. The chocolate chip cookie with dark and white chocolate was big, soft, and yummy. I also got the banana tart which was SO good. It was not what I expected, but the flavors and textures were spot on. They have some benches on the side of their restaurant so if you do online order for pickup, I'd recommend trying to grab a spot there and eat the food fresh. I would recommend the baked goods and ube latte, not sure about the hot food until I can go back and try more menu items.

This is a fast casual spot so service was pretty fast. There is a decent amount of seating, most of which was surprisingly taken around 11am on a Thursday. For starters, they no longer have their rainbow cake! I was surprised to hear that considering how popular it's supposed to be. We got both banana lattes which were extremely sweet. It's basically dessert with a hint or caffeine. I'm a big fan of banana, so I actually liked this but I would've preferred half the sweetness. The Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant was so good! A solid breakfast sandwich - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey bacon was insanely crispy, and that sambal aioli was just what this needed. I highly recommend adding Avocado like I did for some freshness & creaminess since it's a heavy sandwich as is. The Cinnamon Roll was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed this breakfast!

Glorious. One-of-a-kind. Amazing. Definitely some of the best pastries I've had in Chicago…read morerecently. If you haven't made it over to Sugar Moon yet, it's well worth a trek out of the way! We visited around noon on a Sunday, and after reading the reviews here, I wasn't optimistic there would be many pastries left. Maybe I should play the lottery, because luckily there was no line and a pretty good selection of pastries left. The staff were super friendly and there were so many unique flavors of baked goods. We decided to split several and opted for the blueberry cloud cookie, chai cinnamon roll, banana pudding croissant, espresso cornflake cookie, and potato focaccia. The shop was more of a small take-out operation, so we took the pastries to a nearby park to eat. Everything was absolutely divine! The group favorite was the focaccia- the creamy potatoes and cheese brought a rich flavor that was perfectly balanced by the fluffy bread. The chai roll was perfectly soft and delicately spiced, completed with that soft cream cheese frosting and gooey center we all like to see. My personal favorite was the banana pudding croissant- the dough was so crispy that I'm pretty sure others could hear the bite, and there was a generous amount of filling with fresh bananas and visible vanilla beans in the whipped cream. The espresso cookie was super soft- while I couldn't taste the espresso very clearly, I absolutely *loved* the caramel-coated cornflakes topped with sea salt. Super unique and would definitely order again. Despite their decadent appearances, none of the pastries were too sweet. Already plotting a return visit and can't recommend this shop enough!

I got there 30 mins after they opened and had to wait outside for around 15 mins but the line does move fast. There is very limited seating inside so plan to just grab and go. I tried their banana pudding croissant and raspberry scone. The croissant melted in my mouth, it was so flakey and buttery. The raspberry scone was soft and sweet enough. Awesome spot in Logan Square! One of my favorite bakeries in Chicago.
