The best part about this place is the location. Everything else was lacking. Inside and outside seating - wasn't clear if outside seating is open seating? We walked into the building and there were customers in line behind us and out the door. It took a good 5 minutes, maybe more, before anyone that worked there acknowledged the line and us waiting to be seated. Very awkward and not welcoming. Inside has tall ceilings with a bar top in another area along with booths and tables. Got the vibe that the place is understaffed. Finally, was acknowledged and we asked to sit outside. Outside seating is a little crammed and is right on the boardwalk area off the beach. The views of the beach are amazing! Our waiter was all over the place and very busy juggling other tables. Our server was friendly but service was super slow and not attentive. Menu-wise has a lot of options, breakfast and lunch and booze. Our table got pancakes, café combo (French toast), and an omelet. My French toast was good and my dad enjoyed his pancakes. My husband's toast was brunt and potatoes were undercooked. I have been here twice with two different groups. The quick short answer everyone love everything. If you need details and are convincing to come read on. First up find parking and make sure you paid. They do give tickets in the area. There's plenty of seating inside but there is also a few tables overlooking the beach and pier. Plenty of breakfast options for everyone. The price and portions are good, too, along with quality. Coffee is excellent and there are a wide assortment of adult beverages. I have had the Farmers Hash and omelette. The hash potatoes are excellent as well as the bread they serve. Everything else was great, as well as the service. Very conveniently located right off the beach by the pier. We placed a takeout order from the beach (near the sand volleyball courts and the pier and picked up our food after a short walk. We ordered a gyro, mahi tacos, and two kids meals (chicken fingers and kid's burger). Nothing was spectacular, but everything was good. My wife, who is tough to please, enjoyed her mahi tacos. They were a little pricey, but the kid's meals made the overall bill more manageable. We would definitely go here again if we're in the area, though there are other food options that we'd like to explore. read more

I really wanted to like this place - the location is right on the beach near the Deerfield Beach Pier, it has a great diner type menu, and the servers are very friendly. I thought, what could go wrong with basic breakfast? Well, the service could be slow, which wouldn't normally be a problem except in this case we had a plane to catch in Miami... ...and the two of us that ordered fried eggs over easy in the avocado toast were given eggs where the whites were not yet fully cooked - just another 20 seconds would have done the trick. The one that ordered scrambled eggs found hers were cold upon delivery. My Florida omelette (which I requested as a scramble with salsa on the side) came hot, but with salsa on top, which made that half cold (hence my asking for it on the side to begin with). One of our plastic water glasses was chipped all around the rim making it unsafe from which to drink, and the bacon requested well done was well, not well done. Sigh. If staying in Deerfield Beach again, we *might* go back, when we aren't in a hurry, and are willing to send things back - mostly because of the location. But we will definitely try Crepe Cafe and The Modern Rose - which we didn't choose this time because they weren't right on the beach. Food over view! read more

The draw to this spot is the location. Situated just outside the entrance to the Deerfield Beach Pier, you've obviously got some spectacular views. With both indoor and outdoor seating, you also have the opportunity to enjoy your surroundings from most spots inside. The food was alright. I enjoyed the avocado toast. Served on flavorful whole grain toast, seasoned and topped with arugula and presented with eggs cooked to your liking. I had mine over easy and placed them atop the toast and topped them off with some Cholula hot sauce. This was a pretty basic offering, it was tasty, not spectacular. My other half got the fish and chips and some over easy eggs with toast on the side. According to him the fish was fresh. I was surprised to see it came as one piece, but I feel that also indicates it was fresh. For a cafe I'd have to say the food was average and they offer a decent variety including breakfast, appetizers to share and lunch items. Unfortunately service was a bit slow. I understand we went at a busy time. The food came out pretty quickly, but then there was a lag after that. Our drinks sat empty for some time and there was never a follow-up to see how our food was. I also noticed upon arrival empty places sitting on the counter at the bar from previous patrons, and these plates sat there until after we finished. I thought it was odd. We came to eat here, having enjoyed the food previously, but it seemed there was no management present. A short girl with some gold hanging on her with a few tattoos, JoAnna, just lacked customer acknowledgement and courtesy. It was so mis-managed, that we hung around and just left after watching her rudely speak to other customers. These are tough times, and perhaps they cut back on management and they were overwhelmed. There seemed to be plenty of employees, just nobody in charge providing direction. "Chaos" was the word here! Turns out they didn't mess up our order this just wasn't our food. We watched the waiter walk the food back inside and then bring our exact food to the table next to us. We have eaten here a handful of times. They open early for breakfast, much earlier than the other area restaurants and the food is like diner food. It is typical breakfast fare, but they offer pastries of many varieties in a pastry shelf...a nice touch. We have really liked the food. This time, our experience was below par. The restaurant manager (we suppose - or a supervisor or team leader), a kind of short guy who is extremely muscular or stocky, was rude to customers and employees alike. It was hot outside and we have waited inside previous times. This guy rudely directed a waitress in front of us to "get these people out of here and wait outside". Mind you, it was not too crowded inside. The waitress was embarrassed by being talked down to - she was shaken, and it was uncomfortable for us as well. We then left, not to ever return. All that would have been necessary was a smile and being kind to his employee, and us. In the end we ate a five star two doors down at J B's, where we will go hereafter. read more
