While traveling through the area we decided to have lunch. Our first choice was closed so we settled on this restaurant. After viewing the menu, I decided we would share an Italian grinder that proved to be light on the protein with the whitest iceberg lettuce I have ever encountered. In addition, the requested oil was minimal as were the spices. I do hope the owners are not holding their breath waiting for my return. read more

A day of sightseeing and hunger brought me here. Disappointing. Overcooked, too greasy, and just not good overall. Friendly people, and the pizza is certainly edible, but you can do much better. read more

As I was making my way to Niantic, CT, I made a detour in search of a quick bite, and after driving through Chester, I came across Deep River Pizza. I called to ensure they sold pizza by the slice, and they did. I parked and my sister and I walked over and placed our order of two slices and a drink. Our total came to about $9. I tipped. The restaurant is not simply pizza. There's a daily menu and Spanish inspired dishes. We received our order in 10 minutes. The pizza was greasy, but the crust, sauce, and cheese tasted great. My only complaint is the greasiness. I am also not a fan of the tipping screen being handed to customers. read more

Excellent gluten free pizza. I always get a GF clams casino pizza. My husband gets the Hawaiian pizza with red sauce. They have a great menu. read more

The food is delicious but the website leaves a bit to be desired. I can never find a menu.

They never seem to get our order correct. Ask for provolone cheese get American ask for genoa salami get cooked salami, ask for no lettuce just tomato and they give you extra lettuce no tomato. Light sauce on pizza you get extra sauce. I'm not sure if it's a language issue or them just not caring. This was the 5th time and last time. From now on Pizza Pub will now be our pizza place if choice. read more

Great pizza and friendly workers! Always make you feel welcome. It's our go to stop for pizza in Deep River!

We enjoyed the pepperoni pizza here. Nice crust, tangy sauce and plenty of good cheese

Have done take out here a few times. Always ready on time and delicious. Would recommend highly

Great Greek style pizza. We had a sausage pizza. The sausage is sliced nice and thin and very tasteful. Owner is a hard working guy with great customer service. read more

This little spot is fantastic! Located right on Deep River's Main Street, this spot is more of a take-out setting. If you want to stick around the area though, Deep River Pizza has a small counter inside for dining, along with a few benches outside. (The lovely Main Street is a great setting for enjoying your meal! ) The menu offers a large variety to choose from, but as you can see from the photos, we always keep it simple with their pizzas! (This is a thicker, doughier crust style; I prefer brick-oven but their crust is so buttery I can't stay away!) Would highly recommend for an outdoor date during COVID, or for a takeaway meal at home! read more

An outstanding place for carry out. Chicken francese is excellent. Large portions. Excellent salads. Grinders and pizza are excellent, but take out dinners of chicken and seafood are real gems. read more

I tell you this pizza was kissed by god and the sandwich was made by Jesus himself . The bread was perfect and crispy on the sandwich and the sandwich is seasoned perfectly but yoooo the pizza god damn. Deep River Pizza - Grilled Chicken sandwich with bacon and bbq - Pizza Near Me - Deep River, Connecticut

3 stars, it's your run of the mill local pizza joint. Prices are decent, workers are friendly and the food is almost ready on time. Good grinders, the pizza is pan style a tad too greasy for me. Dressings for salads are packaged. There is also no place to sit down and eat. read more

Fresh Delicious food!! Good priced too, I ordered a meatball grinder and it came out perfect. read more

I used to love this place. But recently it's been terrible. Last time we thought they must've changed the ingredients for their dough for the pizza or something because it tasted different (in a bad way) so we decided to try again but ordered something that's not pizza. My cheese ravioli was frozen in the middle. My garlic bread was wet and soggy, the mozzarella sticks were also frozen in the middle and wet. They forgot the dressing to my salad, and my moms chicken tenders were pink in the middle, I hate to say it DRP... but you lost two very loyal customers. read more

Have lived here in Westbrook for 5 yrs and love pizza. This is my fav spot hands down. Gotta try buffalo or meatball/ricotta read more

Best grinders around! The bread makes the sandwich and these are always fresh and overstuffed! In the mood for a big sandwich you can never go wrong with the Cheeseburger grinder! read more

Great pizza. Awesome grinders. I haven't found a single item on the menu that I don't like

Been going to DRP for years now. They have by far the best pizza in the area. The prices are great, portions are huge, and the pizza is a thicker crust and never skimps on the toppings. And I'm a new haven native and grew up on some of the best pizza in the country an deep river pizza stands with the greats. And I mean that. Just try the "town hall" pizza next time. It's a 10/10 from me. read more

Deep River Pizza is consistently good. Grinders, dinners, pizza all good. Pizza slices available until 5pm. It's mostly take out/delivery. Limited seating. Reviewer Andy C. must have an axe to grind. He must have forgotten John at DRP provided hundreds of pizzas at cost for months while the Elementary School cafeteria was being renovated. read more

REALLY GOOD! Being from New England, I take my pizza seriously and this definitely didn't disappoint. Split a salad and pizza with a friend. The first dressing we ordered was a packet of Ken's, which we decided we didn't want bc of the ingredients; so we switched to the house made balsamic and house ceasar- both delicious. I don't remember what pizza we ordered but it was amazing. The ambience was pretty average - but the friendliness and service of the staff made up for it. Also, it's BYOB. read more

Classic New England style Greek pizza. Great specials: try the Taco, steak bomb, or buffalo chicken pizzas. My favorite neighborhood pizza place. read more

My favorite pizza around! I prefer a thick pizza and not thin...it's perfect here! Love their unique special pizzas like Philly Cheesesteak and lasagna pizza. My all time favorite is BBQ pizza with BBQ sauce instead red sauce, it's amazing and you must try it! read more

The staff at Deep River Pizza is friendly and accommodating. The pizza is very good unless you order it on a Sunday. Apparently that is the day they use up all of their leftover ingredients as they are closed on Monday. Twice I made this mistake. The crust on the pizzas both times tasted flat and old and barely chewable. The other ingredients were certainly not fresh and the vegetables were limp. Again, the pizza here is good. Just don't go on a Sunday. The staff is very nice and has never been rude. read more

For a small town pizza place, the pizza was pretty good. The pizza is pan style, but still pretty good. The service was good as well. Not a lot of place to sit inside. But worth a stop. read more

Good pizza, great owners but wish they used higher quality bread for grinders. Greek style foods and always a smile when you pick up your food. Definately recommend. read more

I'm fairly certain I've gotten pizza take-out from this joint in the past and was okay with it. Today I ordered a calzone and was totally underwhelmed. The crust is tasteless and the edges too thick. The three ingredients are sparse and the dipping marinara is more like a bbq sauce. I just don't get it. Got an order of fries too that are thick and soggy- tasteless. Both the calzone and fries sizes are ample, but for my taste a lot of mediocrity. Can you tell I'm unhappy? read more

Great place to eat!! They have all types of specials , and a huge variety of pizzas and other foods. The only downside is they don't have jalapeños chips. Other than that I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. read more

Best pizza around! Great sauce, great crust, great service. Very friendly and consistently delicious!

Great food!! Always consistent! The staff is really friendly! I love their monthly special pizzas and subs. The gyro is pretty good too!!

Great food. Well made. We had an issue once with a pizza being made incorrectly when we had it delivered. They brought a replacement within thirty minutes and told us to keep the other, if we wanted it. Delivery is usually faster than the quoted time. I do wish they offered delivery every day though. read more
