Entrance! Plenty of parking on the street.

Delicious! Flavorful, authentic! Just moved back from CA and haven't found anything like it around! Definitely worth the stop. Perfect for takeout but there's a few great tables outside as well!

BLUF: This is the best Mexican street food in CT, and possibly all of the east coast. I've lived in CA for years and had Mexican street food from essentially every spot of note in the San Diego and Los Angeles area. This is as good, if not better, than any spot I've had, and it's LEAGUES better than anything else in New England. The owner(?)/manager I met is from Oaxaca and wanted to bring authentic food to the area, and they did not disappoint. Highlight had to be the Al Pastor. Have not had Al Pastor like this since I moved from CA, and I've tried so many spots in both CT, RI, and MA. Everything was good, especially the birria, and the temperature / freshness of the food is insane.

What a great spot to have in the Tri-town area!! We got takeout of shrimp tacos- AMAZING! Street corn to start was also delicious. They also have a large selection of sodas to grab with your pickup- we got a Mexican coke. We don't have many spots like this in our area and they are awesome!

We started with the salsa flight. The chips were phenomenal- light, not greasy and just the right amount of salt. The four salsas tasted fresh and unique. I still prefer traditional salsa but was fun to try these different kinds. I ordered the mushroom enchilada plate. Wow! It was packed with meaty textured mushrooms. The black beans and rice were very good as well. This seemed to be one of the only vegetarian options along with the chile relleno. This is a fun place with great food and service! We did have a special buffalo chicken taco, which was fabulous!! It was our first time at Sayulita since giving up alcohol, and I was definitely missing their margaritas. The restaurant is about double the size of the Glastonbury location, so check it out if you want the best tacos without the long wait!!

I had the Buffalo Cauliflower and Mahi Mahi tacos -- both were legit, but the Mahi stole the show with its bright, fresh flavor that just hit in a beach-town kind of way. We also shared the meatless sopes, which were super generous and totally satisfying. A little messy (in the best way), and I gave them a flavor boost with some of the house salsas -- which, by the way, are on point. I'd love to see a pescatarian version added -- they already carry Mahi, so tossing that on a sope feels like an easy win. Shrimp would be another great coastal fit, and a hearty mushroom option could also round things out for plant-based folks (even if it doesn't match the seaside vibe as much). My friend did a trio of tacos (Carnitas, Chorizo, and Al Pastor) and gave them an enthusiastic thumbs-up. No notes. Just solid, delicious tacos across the board. The staff were awesome -- super welcoming and kind. The vibe is relaxed and unfussy, with just a few outdoor seats and a steady stream of locals swinging by for pickup orders. It's the kind of place you almost don't want to tell people about because it feels like a secret... but also, more people need to know. I live in San Diego part time and have eaten my way through the West, Southwest, and Mexico -- and I'd still go out of my way for Papis.

And once you take your first bite, you'll be doing a happy dance. My sister and her friend visited Pica Chica Tacos recently and we happened to be in the area. The young staff was very friendly and helpful. We all decided to order Taco Entrées, which came with two tacos, rice, and beans. We were able to choose from a list and mix or match our tacos. I loved that they offered vegetarian options, so I tried the Cauliflower Taco and the Veggie Taco. My husband and mom tried the Beef Taco, Chicken Taco, and Pork al Pastor. We also ordered Juan-tons, a fun food fusion--roasted corn, poblano peppers, onions, and cheddar all wrapped in a wonton pocket and fried. So delicious! There was a sauce bar with over 30 different sauces (I tried to count them, but lost track). Our meals were packed in to-go containers, but they still had great presentation, making them Instagram-worthy. The bright colors from the red cabbage and pineapple not only looked good but also brought the flavors together. The tacos were generously stuffed. My favorite was the Cauliflower Taco--the cauliflower was perfectly fried and not greasy. I'll definitely be ordering it again. Overall, check out Pica Chica Tacos! While we went for tacos, they offer so much more to try, including burritos, chimichangas, burrito bowls, and desserts.

Their pizza is traditional thin crust (I wouldn't call it "New Haven style" as one reviewer commented). It is good, not fantastic but definitely reliable. My Italian-American BF likes it in case that means anything. They have a lot of topping options (mostly standard stuff) but their menu offerings are good too. You can get white or red pizza. I would like to see them bring back FRESH mozzarella as there is nothing like toasty, bubbling, golden fresh soft mozz on a pizza. They do have a decent selection of salads that go beyond the expected iceberg lettuce and tomato garbage. I haven't had the calzones or other menu items so can't comment on them myself. I have tried a couple of the other pizza places around, even the new "wood fired" place in the next town (very dissappointing) but I keep coming back to Davinci. Pizza is ready quickly. Service is friendly. Prices are reasonable. I cannot speak to the eat in experience. I am not inclined to eat there because the atmosphere is anything but inviting. All hard surfaces like tile floors & gyp board walls - so it's loud and echoes like crazy. No significant decor, no personality. It is really one of those restaurants that is more of a to-go place. Occasionally I see people eating there but IMHO it's not really an ideal destination for dining in. If you go to their website you can find a coupon and save a couple bucks.
