This place has really really good food! As a vegetarian, I was surprised at how well everything was done and how many options there were. The waitress was very sweet and helpful and they serve complimentary nachos in the beginning as well. I absolutely loved the tempura avocado tacos--super unique and delicious. My favorite was def the tacos and the quesadillas! Everyone MUST get the quesadilla--the tortilla is so different and it is soo flavorful! Had a chance to check out comomango and it did not disappoint. We were treated like VIP here, the service was fantastic. Onto the food. We ordered A Lot. Guacamole was great, split a tamale to start, fantastic! We also got the hush puppies which were delicious. They were so moist on the inside. For entrees we got fish tacos, birria tacos, rice and beans and a chile relleno. The tacos were great they have homemade tortillas! The true star of the entrees was the chile relleno. Delicious! What a great spot to go after a long day at the beach! Comomango has delicious food and drinks with an incredible atmosphere! Their chips are fresh and on the thicker side, so they won't break when dipping them in their guacamole. The pineapple cilantro margarita is a must try! First time here and was very pleased with taste, presentation, and portion size. Chicken nachos were some of if not theee best I've ever had. My daughter who is VERY picky had a quesadilla and she said it was by far the best she ever had. I asked our waiter/bartender if he could make me a Sangria and he did a superb job. 2nd best sangria I ever had. My only issue was the pricing for lunch. Because it's so expensive her, I would only stop in maybe twice a year on special occasions. Few small issues that I think would be worth fixing. Don't be stingy on the sour cream, Pico, and guacamole....they are served in thimbles. Except for the guac, these things are dirt cheap. Change the portion sizes....also get the TV working at the bar with a sports package. If I'm sitting at the bar having a drink and a game is on, I'd like to know I can watch it. Nice mexican spot in madison. Everything was overall very good. Ordered the family taco plate for $68 and it came with 12 tacos. They are street tacos so smaller in size but they filled them with your choice of protein nicely. Drinks are nice and strong. I will make this a current visit whenever I'm in that area. Stopped here yesterday a little after 12 yesterday for lunch with my mom, I've seen Comomango on Instagram and have been wanting to try it. The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of parking in the lot directly behind it as well as street parking in front. The ambiance is great, and the aesthetic of the place reminds me of Mexican restaurants I've been too in AZ. A true Mexican cantina! I had a mango margarita & crispy shrimp tacos for my meal both of which were excellent. Dessert was just okay, but the presentation of it was lovely. We each had a second drink, i ordered the spicy pomegranate margarita which was great, my mom ordered the candy cane margarita which was not good, so we kindly asked for a new drink and the bartender made her a Carmel martini which was delicious! Highly recommend that! Our waiter who was also the bartender on was a one man show and was busy for a Monday afternoon but was very attentive to us and never seemed to miss a beat. I deducted a star for the fact that when i went into the restroom i saw they had an advertisement for happy hour prices for drinks, which we were present for during and that was not reflected on our bill. It did state at the bar, we were sitting at a high top in the bar section, not sure if it actually meant AT the bar. And we were also charged for the candy cane margarita that my mom did not even drink, i have no problem paying for it. My wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner on a Friday night. Our usual spot was overcrowded so this served as a fresh change of pace. Although it was busy here, too, there was plenty of parking behind the restaurant. We were greeted immediately by who seemed to be the manager, and we were brought right to two end seats at the bar. From there, we had a great view of the whole area, which was perfect! We started with two house margaritas, which definitely hit the spot! We had to ask a few times for some waters, but that was to be expected on a busy night. We put in our order for the California Burrito and the Crispy Shrimp Tacos, and the food came out in a timely fashion. The flavors were pretty good and nothing was different than expected, but nothing stood out as absolutely amazing. For the price point, I would've loved to see at least a side per dish, but we still weren't disappointed. All in all, it was a positive dining experience! Adorable restaurant! I remember seeing a reel on Instagram and I wanted to check it out. Beautiful presentation for the guacamole. Very tasty and fresh, served in a margarita glass with picco de gallo. Different and I loved it! I tried the Birria tacos and my daughter had the chicken taquitos. She loved her dish however I thought the Birria sauce was lacking a couple spices. We only had some Jaritos sodas but I am wondering how the margaritas taste like so I would definitely love to return. The atmosphere is great with a very cozy interior and 2 great outdoor spaces. We, two couples, ordered entrees last night. Three of our meals came, mine did not. A woman facing me at the table in the booth behind my wife (who I could see & hear) told the wait person that one entree delivered, 3 al pastor tacos, was not theirs several times. And, that they had already 'touched' the food, again several times. The wait person took the plate away instead of leaving it. About a minute or so later my 3 al pastor tacos arrived at our table. Not sure if they were supposed to be hot or even warm. They were neither. Given that I wasn't sure if my tacos were fresh from the kitchen or not, I didn't complain. Not too many places to dine in downtown Madison, so I wish Comomango was better than our experience there this sumer. We ate inside in August and it was simply too hot and too loud to be enjoyable. It seems their AC wasn't functioning well. We drank tons of water to try to get cool to no avail. Tacos were a disappointment, too. The tacos themselves were small and the flour shells and coating on the shrimp were soggy, not crisp. Guac was ok but overpriced for the portion size. read more

We came on a Thursday night. There was great live music playing on a patio, though we were seated inside. The drink selection looked pretty extensive & delicious. Being pregnant, I stuck with the watermelon water which was refreshing. I got a simple cheese quesadilla that I shared with my toddler. This review is my opinion. Read through to the end. Plentiful parking in the parking lot, as well as the street. We checked in with the host and was informed, our reserved table was not ready upon entry. We headed the bar, where the ambiance was terrific, the bartender was attentive, friendly and remained busy tending to us, as other guests. Spicy margarita was phenomenal. We were seated shortly and greeted by our server, who remained extremely busy attending to many tables. We were one of the few tables without water and our water glasses remained upside down until the end of our meal. No big deal, the server was busy. Started with the guacamole and chips. Served in a large glass with a handful of chips. Surprisingly, the guacamole was not plentiful and tasted bland. Not worth the $ charged. Entrees arrived. Small portions for the price points, and food tasted basic, but was okay. Server was not that attentive, had to flag down for napkins and another drink, but we understood she was busy. All the plating was aesthetically pleasing, posted a few photos. We were still having a good time, despite the missteps, what turned the tide was when a man (manager? owner?) came over and slapped down a plastic card with a QR Code and asked us to do a Google review. I explained we were not prepared to do a review at the table, but we'd think about it. I asked if we could keep the card and he said no, he needed it back. He walked away and came back with a couple minutes and asked if we reviewed. I said no. He became aggressive and tried to strong arm us to do a review by saying they need reviews, they are still fairly new, etc. We could not believe he would behave in that matter and totally ruined our entire dining experience by being a bully. read more

We've been to Comomango several times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. We've been for dinner more than once, brunch, and cocktails at the bar while waiting for take-out. The tacos remind me of the tacos we've had in Texas - street taco style, served simply without all the "white people taco night" toppings. The chicken mole is so delicious, I wish they would jar the sauce. And if you've never had chilaquiles for brunch, you don't know what you're missing. The chopped salad is very good for a lighter option and overall, everything I've had at Comomango has been full of flavor and very fresh. Decor and service are also enjoyable, although if you prefer a quiet atmosphere you will want to sit in the dining room when they have live music (which I believe is on Thursdays). The owner is very welcoming and accommodating and there are many, many tequila options if that's your drink of choice. I would strongly suggest reservations no matter which night you visit and be prepared for the restaurant to be busy. The parking lot is big but it does fill up so you may need to find parking along the street or in the larger lot behind the post office. read more

The place was packed but reservations gave us a table in the very loud bar area. The place is cute. Nice motif, and I could see on a warm night that they could open an area to create an outdoor dining space. A small area, in a front (quieter) dining area in this old, house in an historic area in Madison add to the charm giving the opportunity for a memorable evening. Opportunity lost in our case. The waiter admitted he was new but he dropped the ball more than a blind juggler. The several rounds of drinks were each 15+ minutes waiting BEFORE a designated squeaky wheel had to visit the bar requesting an Amber alert be issued for our margaritas. We order Nachos with chicken and guacamole, and some chicken wings. We got the wings and the guacamole. The waiter said he never heard the Nachos. The menu is limited. Tacos being the main focus, which 4 of the 5 of us got. The best of the group was the crispy shrimp. In general the food lacked not only distinctive taste's but also any inspiration, innovation or presentation. The quantity was also disappointing, which can be forgiven by quality. Alas this cannot be blamed on a bad night. They did comp. us a Tres leches desert, which was very good. We ordered takeout last night from Comomango. It was my first time, and I was curious about the new Mexican restaurant that replaced Moxie. The atmosphere is warm, festive, and really beautiful. We had several apps and a couple of burritos; everything was really good. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I look forward to eating at the restaurant soon. Finding good Mexican food in CT has been a challenge--I am happy to have Comomango. read more
