Cute place sort of off the beaten path. I didn't know until we got there that they are connected to SoCo Wine, which used to be in Wallingford. It's a bit far for a regular visit, but if you're in the area it's definitely worth stopping by. They've got good selections of beer on tap, which I hope to see them continue to expand.

    This is the place!

Barrel House is a brewery with so much character! I'm so happy I discovered it! You're guaranteed to make new friends and have a great time here. We sat at the bar, Amanda was our bartender. I wish we knew ahead of time that they also serve food here. I would have much rather ate here, then where we did. I got a blackberry sour, which is actually sourced from another brewery, it's just my kind of beer, so tasty. Later I got Tart Monkey! Another great one! They have plenty of outdoor seating and games for those warmer months. They also produce their own wine. I went to the bathroom and there was a picture of Jason Momoa encouraging proper hand washing, if that doesn't do it, what will? They had some sad looking Poinsettias left over from Christmas with a sign that says "Poinsettia Trauma Center" you just have to laugh. There are plenty of board and card games available to play. They also have these miniature people sitting on the edge of a glass, we had a fun setting up various scenarios with new friends we made here. What a fun place, with so much to do here. I can't wait to go back to try their food, wine and outdoor fun!

Outdoor sipping on beer, wine, cider, Prosecco...and live music on Saturdays. We were greeted with a friendly smile by Chris. The indoor bat is small but incredibly quaint. The outdoor has lots of seating and has table side service. Amanda runs around making everyone happy. We had the Isotta Manzoni sparkling rose. Perfect sipping on sparkling rose. Amanda said they wanted to open a comfortable neighborhood bar for all people. Well they accomplished that!

The Food and 5. the entire staff. Having just returned for a special family gathering (with a birthday thrown in), my brother, sister-in-law, and sister from West Hartford and Simsbury were blown away. I should note both my visits were in the daytime. Besides the rustic beauty of the vineyards, the grounds are lovely and set a peaceful tone for the restaurant. The interior is beautiful and with plenty of warmth and natural light from the windows. The walls are adorned with artwork for sale but tastefully done, as was a handcrafted bench (which I bought!) that allowed me an opportunity to sit and soak in this surprise dining experience. Our server for both experiences was Garret and honestly, we are spoiled - polite, upbeat knowledgeable and accommodating - even when he was the main server he never ignored our table. Every food course over two visits were nothing less than fantastic - from flavor to presentation the food was perfectly prepared. The server in taking the order and the wonderful chefs were both very accommodating for a member of our party with dairy allergies. From the website and now two visits this is not a winery tour or exclusive wine tasting spot - this is a beautiful restaurant that makes (in the basement) and serves their own wines - even the red is made on property from grapes brought in from out-of-state. I will be going back frequently and cannot wait for the colder months, holidays and dinner by their fireplace!

Not too hot out so we were able to sit outdoors overlooking the lovely property. The staff is very friendly ans helpful. We asked the bartender if we could enjoy the Happy Hour at one of the tables, he said, No. Only at the bar. Something that was not spelled out on the menu nor the website. We sat at the bar. The menu listed the house gin at $5. I asked which Gin did they use as House Gin. The bartender said, I can give you Tanqueray but the price is not $5 like the menu says, it's $7. He said that menu was from Milford, not Westbrook. Weird...so I get a glass of wine, which did ring at $6 like the menu said. We ordered a few "tapas". Out of the four that we tried, the best one was the turnover (empanada), then the meatballs (tiny meatballs), then the fried calamari (which tasted and looked out of a frozen wholesale fried calamari bag) and last the pork medallion (not tasty at all). When the bill came, two of the tapas had the wrong price (higher than what the menu said)....I had to ask the bartender to rectify, which he did.....Poor people the ones that do not check their bills....they can easily be overcharged here....Big time..... Not recommended....not coming back.

We get it - long lines create the illusion of demand, which then creates the feeling of novelty,…read moreuniqueness, value. That was what I thought about Sally's. Well the reputation of Sally's initially came from recommendations from acquaintances and uber driver. So I figured: Sally's must truly be the best pizza in New Haven the pizzz capital of USA (well that's what the signage at New Haven Tweed airport says!) So on a Monday mid-afternoon (July 13 2026) I made sure I put my Teams offline and drove to New Haven from Milford. Traffic on 95 but that's I guess typical. This doesn't happen in VA Beach where am visiting from; but not a novice in dealing with I-95 traffic since I've lived in Northern VA for 36 years. Anyway why am I describing all this? Is Sally's truly worth the hype, long lines and oh btw for pickup/delivery you get in line to order, and have to come back 45 minutes to pick up your order!?? The notable thing is that service is a 4 for takeout. You have to wait a few minutes for the staff who takes orders to be at his station to take the order. He disappears for minutes. But ordering was quick and when they tell you ready gif pickup by 4:15pm, it was ready (but of course got to get in line for that too!) The answer is: only if you don't want to drive to NY to get really great pizza. I ordered the garden (signature) pizza. It looked like a garden alright: vibrant green not overload of red pizza sauce or overly sprinkled cheese. The crust was pretty thin (way I like it) but not as thin as real pizza in Italy. The toppings were fresh. But it was on the bland unseasoned side. I'd give the pizza a 3.
