Where do I start? I could start with the absolutely awful music that was playing. I'm sorry, but these 2 people have no business being on a microphone and it's hard to believe anyone would pay them to do so. I will say, in fairness, that there was only 1 bartender/server. Yes, the same person doing both...so it's obvious that there might be a wait. She took our drink orders and left us with menus. Came back with a tray of drinks, only to spill them on the ground and had to go get new ones. Finally got the drinks and the beer was not cold at all. Ordered 3 orders of wings and a wrap. How difficult is that? About 30 minutes later we get 1 order of wings and the wrap. In the meantime, 3 other tables came in and sat down. 30 minutes more, we still don't have the other 2 orders of wings and the tables that came in after us are already served and eating. Waitress never comes over to see if we need anything. When she finally does come over we explain still waiting on wings. She acted clueless as if she didn't know what was happening. We waited, stupidly, another 30 minutes and finally had to tell her we were leaving. She asked if we wanted the wings removed from the check...REALLY? No, we'd love to pay for food we didn't receive! I went downstairs and asked for a manager, of course I was told there wasn't one. But the woman there said our wings were given to another table. I don't really believe that. And even if it was true, HOW LONG does it take to make 6 wings? Please don't waste your time going to this place.

They have a good amount of outdoor seating to the right of the entrance. Inside is a small bar with about eight seats (didn't count) and several high tops. There is also a loft with more seating overhead. We walked up a few steps to enter the building from the parking lot. I'm not sure if the side entrance also has steps so if you have mobility needs, call ahead to check. We sat at the bar and as it was a hot day, I asked for a water before ordering a drink. The water was refilled several times during our visit without my needing to ask. I really appreciate that! The bartender seems to be the owner from the way he was talking and let us know they have live music two night a week plus some nights they offer a special menu like Prime rib night or dogs eat free night. Yes, besides the kids menu, they have a menu for your pup. The interior is very much a barn, with lots of fun, metal signs and train memorabilia all around. Two TV's were on in the front corners of the room so you may be able to watch your game (golf the day we went) but it's not really set up as a sports bar. There is one fair sized restroom for everyone that is clean and locks with a hook and eye latch. They have a good size drinks menu which includes a variety of cocktails, a selection of draft and bottled beers and wine. The bar has quite a collection of whiskeys and tequila's. A separate menu is available for their pub fare foods. The menu is very well crafted. Lots of chicken options, sandwiches and wraps, burgers, hotdogs and salads. My SO got the spicy chicken sandwich. When asked, our bartender let him know it was spicy, but not too spicy and they have hot sauce behind the bar if he wants more heat. Which of course he did. He enjoyed the sandwich; crispy chicken, tasty sauce, fresh veg and bread. Messy to hold, after using several napkins he finished it off w/his knife and fork. Table ware set on the bar after ordering is in small paper sacks. I went for a burger. The patty is quite large, cooked to order and juicy. Fresh veg on there, soft bread and tasty. I enjoyed this burger and it was large enough I almost couldn't finish it. I opted for a side salad (for an up charge) instead of fries. The salad is a good sized side, the veg were fresh and the dressing is on the side. I did try the fries that came with the chicken sandwich and those are really good fries. Fresh potato, crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted. Really good. This was an excellent stop. Chatted with some friendly locals and the barkeep. Had a beverage. Grabbed a tasty sandwich. We left stuffed and happy. What more could you ask.

This is…read morevery much your standard local dive bar--and I mean that in the most straightforward way possible. You're not coming here for a standout meal or craft cocktails. You're coming here because it's open late, has cold drinks, and it's probably close by. In my case, it was conveniently located near our Airbnb, and with limited late-night dining options in the area, I ended up eating here two nights in a row--strictly out of convenience. Both nights I had the Clam Strip Roll. It's fine. Not great, not terrible. Just... fine. On the first night, I made the mistake of ordering the French fries, which came with an extra charge. They were underwhelming--small portion, cold, and not seasoned. Definitely not worth the upcharge or the calories. The second night I opted for the default chips instead. Still not great, but at least they didn't cost extra. My friend had the BLT on night one--nothing offensive about it, but nothing to write home about either. The toast was uneven, and the onion rings (also an upcharge) were a letdown: soggy and bland. On the second night, they went with the Works Burger and a side salad. Again, both were just average. The burger checked the usual boxes, and the salad was basic but fresh enough. In short, the food does the job, but it's not going to be a highlight of your trip. Drinks were a brighter spot--cold and reasonably priced, which is really all you can ask for in a place like this. The atmosphere? Exactly what you'd expect from a small-town dive bar. There are a few pool tables, TVs mounted on the walls playing sports, and music that leaned into classic rock and barroom standards. It's unpretentious and low-key--probably the kind of place where regulars sit at the same bar stools every night. Service was solid. Orders were taken quickly, drinks arrived fast, and needs were met with minimal fuss. Nothing over the top in terms of attentiveness, but nothing lacking either. It's the kind of service that keeps the gears moving without drawing attention to itself. Overall, Lyme Tavern is a functional, no-frills stop. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit, but in a pinch--especially if it's late and you're nearby--it'll do.
