I have ordered from Dee Dee Vegan Thai many times on Uber Eats and have always loved every dish I've tried. This was my first time dining in person here. They share a space with Ladda Thai House, but market themselves under Dee Dee Vegan because of their extensive vegan menu. They have ample seating both indoors and outdoors with cute decor. During my time dining here, our server was pretty kind, but wasn't very helpful when asking for opinions or questions. This could be because of a language barrier, I'm not entirely sure. My grandmother is extremely sensitive to spice, and we explained that its important for her dish to have no spice, but when it came out it definitely had a bit of a kick to it. Other than that, all the food was beautifully plated and tasted amazing. I would still highly recommend coming here!

Same location as Ladda Thai - the vegan menu is the last page. Been here twice and the food was really good both times. Choices of vegan protein include fresh tofu, fried tofu, soy curls and tempeh. The tofu is so good I haven't gotten around to trying the tempeh yet but look forward to giving it a go next time! Avocado curry noodles were amazing. Huge portion of rice noodles drowned in a vat of spicy tasty red curry sauce topped with sliced avocado and other yumminess. Reminded me of spicy jungle noddles at some other places. Fresh rolls are solid (not amazing but the peanut sauce is warm and thick and delicious. Try the khao soi if you haven't before! Noodles in curry soup with bean sprouts and pickled veggies on top add a really nice brightness and depth of flavor. We got level 1/mild on everything and the curries were still pretty spicy (for me) so be warned about dialing up the heat up front!

9.5/10. Best Tom kah soup ever. We enjoyed everything and would definitely come back. Cute space, nice outside seating (was too cold to sit out). Nice neighborhood restaurant. Vegan options available. Service was amazing. They're on top of it. Our servers were Adi and Sky. They gave great customer service. Always offering to refil our waters and clearing out empty dishes right away. Highly recommend this place.

Food was prepared well. The tom kha flavor was decent but too sweet. The coconut curry didn't have enough flavor. The khao soi was good

The the combination of smoky, tender barbecue with the creamy Thai curry was so good. The burnt ends brought that deep, savory, slightly charred flavor, while the curry gave it a completely different dimension. The flavors worked well. I just wished the burnt ends were more fatty. We also tried a pork belly dish, which was another highlight. The pork was rich and flavorful, and I loved the crispy fried egg, green beans, cucumber, and fish sauce with it. If you're visiting Portland and want something playful and different, Eem is absolutely worth checking out!

Drinks: I cannot handle day drinking anymore, but I couldn't resist... - Acid test: bourbon based - Separation anxiety: rum based, tiki; I was hesitant about the lychee (not a fan), but it was very well balanced. This was my preferred cocktail Food: family style - Sweet and sour chicken: even the small was a big portion. Flavor was great on this, and it had a crisp, crunchy batter - Wok fried yu choy: great wok char - Smoked pork krapao: crispy pork belly pieces, a fried poached egg (literally deep fried). Break up the yolk to dip with the pork. The cucumbers and green beans are a nice clean accompaniment; spicy fish sauce was great - White curry with brisket burnt ends: I've never had a white curry, but the white curry and cauliflower was a great match for the super rich brisket pieces. I love the interesting combination! Note: pretty much everything has some spice to it, so for kids, the jasmine rice and yu choy are the main items, though my older daughter did ok with the fried chicken and brisket! Music was great, and all of the food flavors were bold. Though flavor combinations were unique, everything was cohesive. They were packed on a Wednesday for lunch, so I'm glad we got here before noon to snag a table. I wish the Bay Area had more interesting fusion done right like this (I feel like fusion is a bad word in the food world...)

You can watch them frying the roti in front of you, they have a great flavor (they're a bit on the thick side), and the curry is absolutely sublime, with an incredible depth of spices without being hot. I also really enjoyed the freshness and textural blend of the "rice salad," with great cucumbers and herbs, although it was too spicy for my dining companions. I admit I didn't think the fried chicken was anything special--the chicken was moist (even the white meat), but the outside could have been crunchier. But I'm not the biggest expert in fried chicken, nor in pad thai, and both were certainly competent even if not as exceptional. Sticky rice was also cooked perfectly.

Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. Overall, I'd come here again to eat and try other items as well. I'll give it a 5 star for now but more 4.5.
