AMAZING!! A dear friend lives across the street and could not wait to take us to Thai Sky. We ate early so were greeted and seated immediately with drink orders taken and near immediately served. Then ordered the Crispy Wonton appetizer. They were filled with deliciousness. The provided sauce complemented very well. Midway through the Wontons our orders of Panang Salmon. Urey, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Pad Phet. The Panang Salmon was a huge broth-filled bowl and our friend claimed it to be exquisite. My wife's Sweet and Sour Chicken was great and definitely different than Chinese Sweet and Sour leaning more to the sour side but definitely NOT sour! My Pad Phet was great. We were asked when ordering the level or heat we wanted in our entrees ... that's a FIRST for us! Spice was perfect for each dish. Our dishes all contained eggplant which I found unusual. The eggplant was a bit overdone in 2 of 3 dishes but its use in the dish was a sterling idea. Honestly this is the best Thai food I've experienced since Thailand and in this case we could drink the water. Food was totally excellent across the board as was the serve. So, we love Thai food, Portland has amazing Thai options. But this place... well... their salad rolls were BORING. They fell apart and they were flavorless. I had the phad kee mao... bland, mushy noodles. Husband had mussaman curry which he said was decent but he ordered hot and it came mild. Dipping sauce for salad rolls was small but nice. So, if I need something meh and easy, I would order again, but I wouldn't choose it intentionally. read more

So, just a heads up, folks... I verbally exclaimed, "this is the best Khao Soi I've ever had," multiple times during my lunch today. If reading reviews that are overly-effusive in praise is a trigger for you... please stop reading now! I am no stranger to the Thai Sky commercial space as I frequented the healthy Vietnamese restaurant that was located here before. It's a bright and inviting space conveniently located on Division near Mt Tabor Park. If you'd like to get a walk in the park in before you dine, this is the place for you! The Khao Soi I ordered today was an absolute delight! Beautifully plated, the dish was both aesthetically pleasing and aromatic. I could smell the curry, shallots and lime beckoning me from the kitchen as it was being prepared. I loved the perfectly executed combination of crispy deep-fried egg noodles, as well as the slurpable and flavorful noodles in the curry. Khao Soi is one of my favorite dishes from northern Thailand; robust in flavor, a perfect pick-me-up for crisp fall and winter days. Seldom found on menus in the US, it's always a special treat to discover a kitchen's particular take on the dish. So as you can imagine, I jump at the chance to order Khao Soi whenever I can. Thai Sky did an excellent job preparing my lunch today, and I am encouraged to try additional dishes at this location in the future. Thai Sky is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. We ordered online and did pickup - the food was ready at the stated time, and packed so that it was still fresh-out-of-the-wok hot when it made it home. Portions were quite large, so our order turned out to be meals for two spread over multiple days. Everything reheated beautifully. My only heads-up for visitors is to point out that Thai Sky shares a smallish parking lot with Pizzicato next door, and the layout is a one way U shaped lot with narrow parking spaces, so if you have a choice of vehicles, lean towards the smaller one. The dining area is very nice - I'm looking forward to a time when eating indoors becomes possible again. In the meantime, this is a terrific spot for take out. read more

Monday night with no one else here, though a few folks popped in for take out. The waitress here was so friendly. They have paper menus, and the menu two different ways on the wall. I had the kha soi (sp?) the curry sauce most delicious, well-spiced, was just a little crowded in the bowl. Absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I are always looking for good Thai restaurants and we were both extremely satisfied. He got the yellow curry which tasted flavorful, authentic, and fresh. I dropped by here to pick up a quick lunch and ordered by standby when I go to a new Thai restaurant; Pad Kee Mow. I must say that the server that took my order was super friendly and even though I had not called ahead I was served pretty quickly while they also handed out several pre-preded meals while I waited. The result was a fantastic version of my 'test' dish and I will definitely be going back to try more of their menu. The spice level was perfect (I ordered spicy) and the overall composition was great with freshly cooked flat noodles, good portion of veggies and protein and lots of fresh basil. My friends and I all decided to grab dinner at food stalls since we were in the area. A couple of my friends decided to try Thai Sky. We stopped by on Thursday, December 29th around 7:45pm. It was freezing, so I tried my friend's Coconut Milk Soup with Chicken. I normally don't like Tom Kha Gai much as I'm not a huge fan of coconut milk (I'm more of a Tom Yum girl), but this was so comforting. Nice, hot and creamy. Plus it had a good spice. Though, it didn't have much chicken as I only remember seeing a few pieces at the bottom. Another friend got their Pad See Ew and seemed to enjoy it. I was in downtown running an errand during lunchtime so I decided to visit my old food cart pod by my building where I used to work pre-covid. I got there around noon and I chose this cart since no one was waiting for orders. I ordered the cashew stir fry, pad see ew, and peanut curry. They were all made fresh! This restaurant came into my radar from a Yelp recommendation on Talk. Me and a friend came here; hopeful it was going to be fabulous and a place we would be happy to return to. Here's our take on our whole experience. Got in there about 5.30 (this was for supper). And you have to wait to be seated; at that time their was nobody in the dinning area. The young man sat us by the window. It was kind of cold in there. This happened to be when the cold front had come in; on 22 December Thursday. Water was served. And we placed our order. My friend picked lrg Tom Kha with chicken and papaya salad. I chose panang curry with mixed veggies, papaya salad and tofu fresh rolls. Here's the skinny... The papaya salad was fine actually better the fine. The papaya was firm and cut thick enough so it didn't become soaked with the dressing. But we both noticed a different taste that we were not used to but we couldn't figure out what it was. After a little bit of eating the papaya salad my friend said it's garlic "they put garlic in it" and he was rite little pieces of garlic. But their was another flavor we were still trying to figure out and again my friend got it .; It was sesame oil. This was a new taste twist for me. I still enjoyed the papaya salad and kudos to Sky Thai they spiced it correctly. Next the tofu fresh rolls; were good as well as the peanut sauce was good too. Now for the main dish my friend said the Tom Kha was very thin lacking the nice creamy coconut milk that he has come to know and like at other Thai restaurants and my friend said the only flavor was sour......he said it was terrible. Now my panang curry. Basically had no curry flavor it was just flat. spoon after spoon I kept searching for that nice curry taste but couldn't find it. Also all of the vegetables were wilted and overcooked. They also did not spice it hot as I had requested. Panang curry was very disappointing. The restaurant it self is very nice inside and they have they're own car park on the side of the building which; is not huge and shares parking with all the other businesses on either side of Sky Thai Kitchen. You cant see the parking lot from the restaurant so if it's important to keep an eye on your car while dinning you wouldn't be able to while dinning in. As for Customer Service....hmm ja ja, well it was kind of nuetral the young man didn't even crack a smile and I don't think I heard him say much at all so CS was not really bad or good just kind of not their. But to be fair idk what kind of day he had. So.... Always think good thoughts and hope he has better days ahead. read more

It's been a minute since I've felt strong enough about something to leave a review. But this place is absolutely worth every star. First things first, they use recyclable containers. (I'm still surprised that some places still use the plastic clamshell!) As for the food, it was flavorful and fresh. We got the pad see ew (both a chicken and a tofu), a spicy Thai fried rice and 2 HUGE tofu salad rolls. We especially loved the perfectly cooked vegetables (firm not soft!), and crazy yummy carrots. I am hungry just typing this! The little food cart amongst the many that are downtown is so so good. I was recommended I try this place out by my coworker who I often accompany on her walks to this place but hadn't tried any foods until recently - and I'm ADDICTED. I have had the Pad See Ew with chicken and the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, both SO good. I always had the chili flakes and peanuts for texture. The noodles of both dishes typically are on the softer side which I'm loving right now as I've got a mouth full of metal for 2 years, so the peanuts and bean sprouts are a really good balance of soft and crunchy. I'm a texture kinda gal, crunchy foods are my happiness, but aren't great for braces *eyeroll* The cost for the serving size is what gets me, the portion in my picture was only $10! TEN DOLLARS! Usually I'd go to a restaurant and pay $13.95 so $13.00 for my food and a tip?! I'm sold. Idk about you, that's a deal for me. Not too far of a walk from where. Came here for dinner tonight and was very impressed. We got crab rangoon (delicious- but I mean, deep fried anything is, right?), chicken larb salad, and beef pad see ew. We ordered the larb salad "hot" and the server politely informed us that they use a traditional Thai spice scale, so we went with a medium pad see ew. The larb salad was perfectly spicy, as was the pad see ew. The most spectacular thing about dining in at this place was the presentation of the food. Every plate was so beautiful. read more

Thai Sky Kitchen has moved to a new location on Division and it is sooooo cute. The owners are back at it and ready to serve up the most amazing and fresh thai food. My favorites are the pineapple fried rice, peanut curry with chicken and pad kee mao. Other must try items are the egg rolls and OMG rolls. Seriously, you will be addicted. With so many Thai restaurants, it's difficult to choose but this place should be on the top of any list. This previous food cart only got better now that it has its own sit down space. Everything was fresh, tasty, super clean and great service. Spicy beef and papaya salads, salad rolls, chix pot stickers, garlic beef garlic green beans, mango/sticky rice...nothing disappointed us.
