Snacking on eggrolls.

They're not filling, they're very light but good!
Flory W.

I was craving some eggrolls (I recently had some Filipino Lumpia we made at home, I just can't get enough of these!), so we ordered a serving for snacks, during my event in Sellwood. I could eat 10 of these and still not filled up. But it's perfect light snack, healthier than candies or junk package chips!

Medium spicy - Pad Se Ew with shrimp

I was craving some Thai food & this medium spicy pad-se-ew with shrimp hit the spot with the exact flavor, that I like. Along with the right amount of fried eggs & broccoli mixed in.

We were looking for a different restaurant in the area and saw this area with food trucks while driving by. When we got to where the restaurant was supposed to be, we couldn't find it so went back instead to the food trucks. I'm glad we did because we had some of the most delicious food I've had in awhile. I got the yellow curry with vegetables and it came with white rice and the melon drink. I went with a mild curry because most places their mild can be hotter. In this case, I could have dialed up the heat. My coworker got the pad thai with chicken and egg rolls. The melon drink was so delicious. I think that was my favorite part of the meal! It tasted of melon and not just sugar and additives.

I only ordered the iced melon drink - and wouldn't normally write a review just on that - but it was soooo refreshing on a hot Portland day. Moreover, the lady in the window was incredibly nice.

N4. Pad Thai

Officially the best pad thai I've had in Portland! The other items I've tried are delicious (most notably the drunken noodles and crispy rolls) but the pad thai is top notch!

Pad thai - mild spice with chicken.

Exceptional Thai food- the crab puffs were as good as we have had anywhere. The pad thai was excellent, unfortunately it was so piping hot that we filled up on our other choices from the other places before digging in. What i tasted was really good, just didn't get to eat that much to review.

Drunken noodle with chicken

This food cart has pretty authentic thai food. I will have to go back and try out different dishes to give a full review. The food quality and quantity can compare pretty closely with the thai restaurant inside H-mart. However I still think the other restaurant is still better in flavor and quantity and the cost is identical. The other restaurant offers free tea. Since I love drunken noodle dish so that was the first dish I tried. The serving size was good for $8. The flavor was almost there. It was definitely lack of any basil flavor as I didn't any basil. Instead they used brocolli which I didn't care for with that dish. I also ordered chicken which was okay. I would like to try tofu next time. Another complain I have with this food cart was that she charged 25 cents for using credit card. It was not much but I wish she had a warning sign about the additional charge like the neighboring mac & cheese stand. So for this reason and no basil, I gave it a 4 stars. Otherwise it would have been 4.5 stars.

$14 for pad see ew & chicken fried rice...large servings and blow- me-away flavor !! Friday nights like this cannot be beat :-)

Krab cream puffs

Pad Kee Mao was great, but the star are the krab puffs. May be the best I've ever had.

pad kee mao w/ tofu ($7)
Sarah C.

The pad kee mao ($7) was the best pad kee mao I've had at a food cart. This is the first Thai food cart I encountered where the food actually came out like I had ordered it from a restaurant with the difference being the wait time was significantly shorter. I've had some unfortunate experiences at Thai food carts around Portland where the pad kee mao was just prepped wrong or was lacking ingredients. Here, at E-Side Thai Cuisine, my entire dish was cooked to perfection from the wide rice noodles to the sauteed red & green bell peppers, onions, broccoli, & mushrooms to the fried tofu. The serving was generous enough to allow for two meals so instead of stuffing myself silly I saved the rest for the next day. The prices are a little higher than I've seen elsewhere but I rather pay that extra dollar or two for quality cooking. Check this cart out if you're in the mood for Thai food or have never had Thai food. Waiting outside in the cold, rain, &/or wind won't be so bad once the very nice owner hands over a hot plate of savory noodles & veggies to you. After that first bite is taken you'll forget you were ever cold.

Chick & Pig Thai Street Food - A very nice Lemongrass chicken with sticky rice

Chick & Pig Thai Street Food

This was our first experience at this new cart pod (new enough that the beer hall was still under…read moreconstruction). Chick & Pig has hit the ground running. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, even without libations. Lemongrass chicken with sticky rice, wide rice noodles with chicken, and sweet potato fries! made for a lovely meal. Because it's coming from a food truck, you don't get the fancier plating and presentation that a sit down restaurant provides, but nothing detracted from the flavor. The buzzer worked fine for notifying us of pickup time, so everything arrived hot and fresh. It's nice to have a quality Thai cart pod option in the neighborhood. My only advisory concerns parking - the large parking lot next door is, understandably, not for pod customers, and this stretch of SE Division is too narrow to allow for much street parking, so expect to accumulate a few steps when you visit.

I got the pad kaprao with pork belly after seeing a good review of that dish from the Portland…read moreMercury (https://www.portlandmercury.com/food/food-issue-2026/portlands-top-20-food-carts/). Unfortunately, I came away pretty disappointed. Everything except the pork belly was actually really good. The rice had a good texture and separate grains. The fried egg was crispy and had a nice runny yolk. The cucumbers had a nice thickness and crunch to them (could been colder though). The prik nam pla (fish sauce, chiles, maybe a little lime?) was really great -- something about the flavor really popped for me and was tasty. And everything was served hot and fresh. But the pork belly sucked, and that kinda ruined the dish for me. The fatty parts weren't melt-in-your-mouth at all. They were just chewy. The skin wasn't crispy, it also was chewy. The meaty parts weren't juicy at all, they were tough. I dunno, everything about it seemed wrong. And getting the pork belly right seems like a crucial part of the overall dish. After eating maybe 1/3 of the pieces of pork belly, hoping each time that the bad pieces were just outliers, I gave up and just pushed the rest of them to the side while I ate the rest of the dish. Oh well.
