Great Thai food selections. The pineapple fried rice and cashew is delicious with soy curls. Also Avocado curry x spicy is my fav.

House special peanut curry with soycurls (vegan)

Absolutely top-notch vegan Thai food. We were a bit confused upon entering the place. From the outside, the place is called Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine, so we wondered whether we were in the right place. When you look at the menu, the place seems to be an amalgamation of four places -- of which, Basil Vegan Kitchen is a part -- with a shared menu. Interesting. Most things on the menu can be made vegan, and there's a huge selection. You select your choice of protein to come with each dish (vegan options: tofu, tempeh and soycurls), and the spice level. To start, we got the Tom Yum soup with tofu (small size; $7.50). This was as sublime as tom yum coups can be. Wonderful mixture of lime leaf, galangal, and, of course, lemongrass, with adequate sweetness to balance. You get tofu, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, and onions (white and green). Awesome. 5/5 Next, we got the House Special Peanut Curry ($16.25) with soycurls, a wonderful peanut-based red curry. It came with tons of veggies, soft and perfectly cooked soycurls, and a delectable sauce -- maybe a tad sweet, but still great. Lovely stuff. 4.5/5 The Pad See Ew ($14.75) with tofu was beautifully done, coming with with perfectly cooked flat wide rice noodles, broccoli, carrots, bean sprouts, and tofu. 5/5 I forget the name of the last dish we got, but it was a Pumpkin Basil Stirfry of some sort, which we got with tofu. This was perhaps the highlight, coming with so much delicious crispy basil. The pumpkin was thinly sliced and not very sweet (which I appreciated). This came with a ton of fresh veggies. Adored this dish. 5/5 We got 2 main dishes 4/5 on the spiciness scale, which was adequate -- I could've done with spicier. Overall, a little pricy, but the quality is top-notch, so it's worth every penny. Great, fast service. Couldn't recommend this place more. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Portland.

I wish I could give them 4.5 stars because my gripes are pretty minimal. I love finding amazing vegan food, especially that I can get delivered. We're flexatarian and try to stay more vegan when cooking at home, so it's fantastic to find really good food from restaurants so we can keep to it even more often. We were perfectly happy with the way the food arrived, the prices, and portions. The flavors were amazing and you decide the heat level of just about everything here, which is nice so we can mix it up between the different dishes. One issue we had was the coconut zucchini. There was no trace of coconut. You couldn't see it or taste it, it was just a tempura. Now for me that's fine, but for my partner who doesn't like zucchini it would need that in order for him to maybe like it. So although it was delicious for me it wasn't so much for my partner. There was plenty of fried tofu in every dish, but for me, I would've liked a little more veg in the curries. I like a lot of veggies so it lacked a little there for me, but my partner didn't care at all. I'm guessing because the flavor was so good he could care less. So this place is definitely a go-to for amazing vegan Thai food. Kind of wish I had a reason to go every week just to make my way through the menu!

Ordered via Uber eats and it was bland and watery. Not sure how the service is, hears it's good so might go back to try in person.

We took the bus here and it was close to a bus stop, and I think there's also street parking available as well. The decorations were very cute--it's a smaller restaurant, but they really made sure the ambiance was nice. I ordered some tea and a see ew, and we shared waffle fries and brussel sprouts. Each dish was flavorful and so good--my favorite was the see ew. I still think about it! Definitely a return restaurant on my next visit to Portland!

Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for a recommendation. They suggested the bibimbap and mentioned it was on the spicy side, which I was totally okay with. While their cocktails looked really tempting, I ended up getting a Mexican Coke, and I loved that they had it. The bibimbap was absolutely delicious. It had so many different flavors and textures, and somehow they all worked perfectly together. The waiter also suggested mixing everything together before taking the first bite, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was super cute, with a cozy little tiki-bar vibe inside, and they also have a few outdoor tables. The service was exceptional throughout. This is an easy 5-star review from me.

I kinda get both sides ya know , sure one person in the group wants a drink w dinner but dude just tough it out and have your dinner. Instead they popped off and all started fussing and being entitled and it was just gross. I was enjoying a fantastic dinner but that table was like trying to take the stage. Pretty solid all-vegan Mexican brunch…read more We arrived on a Sunday just after their 10am opening, and it was already starting to get packed. You order at the counter, and they bring out your food. (Despite counter ordering, 18% tip is still the minimum stanard option they prompt you for.) We all ordered the Soyrizo & Huevo Desayuno ($18), a brunch plate with soyrizo tofu and potato scramble, refried beans, Mexican rice, a grilled jalapeno, some grilled onion, and a couple of corn tortillas. Very tasty scramble, though the refried beans were a bit oversalted. Huge portion -- very carb-heavy, would've preferred some veggies in here, but that's Mexican cuisine for you. Doesn't really hold a candle to authentic Mexican cuisine you get down in Mexico, but pretty solid for Portland / northern US. The coffees we ordered weren't great quality -- pretty weak and watery. All in all, reasonable value, huge portions, tasty mains. Worth checking out.

This was where has this been all my life? good. We ordered enough food to feed a small family reunion: fried chicken, popcorn chicken, collard greens, mac & cheese, cornbread, mashed potatoes and gravy... and every single thing was ridiculously delicious. I kept looking at the food like, "Wait... are we sure this is vegan??" I've been vegan for years and this is hands-down the best soul food I've had since going vegan--which honestly makes it some of the best soul food I've had in years. Experience: I visited Top Burmese for dinner with a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. This was both of our first times. I am vegan while my friend is not and we had no struggle finding options that suited our needs. What stood out: Service: The staff was knowledgable and checked in on us frequently. Our food only took about 20 minutes to come out despite a busy dinner rush and we were offered chili flakes to spice up our curries. was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Food: For the table, we ordered the samosas which were perfectly flaky and filled with fresh veggies. I ordered the ruby garden non alcoholic beverage as well as the tofu curry with coconut rice. Every bite and drink of what I ordered tasted unique and made with intention. The samosas were incredible dipped into what tasted like a sweet and sour chili sauce. My tofu curry and coconut rice had a delightful blend of textures and tasted like no other curry I have ever had before. Ambiance: The atmosphere is so cozy with Burmese decor alongside dim lighting. It is perfect for a date night or catching up with a friend. Overall, I will be returning to Top Burmese to enjoy more of their vegan friendly curries and appetizers!
