Great Thai food selections. The pineapple fried rice and cashew is delicious with soy curls. Also Avocado curry x spicy is my fav.

Absolutely top-notch vegan Thai food. We were a bit confused upon entering the place. From the outside, the place is called Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine, so we wondered whether we were in the right place. When you look at the menu, the place seems to be an amalgamation of four places -- of which, Basil Vegan Kitchen is a part -- with a shared menu. Interesting. Most things on the menu can be made vegan, and there's a huge selection. You select your choice of protein to come with each dish (vegan options: tofu, tempeh and soycurls), and the spice level. To start, we got the Tom Yum soup with tofu (small size; $7.50). This was as sublime as tom yum coups can be. Wonderful mixture of lime leaf, galangal, and, of course, lemongrass, with adequate sweetness to balance. You get tofu, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, and onions (white and green). Awesome. 5/5 Next, we got the House Special Peanut Curry ($16.25) with soycurls, a wonderful peanut-based red curry. It came with tons of veggies, soft and perfectly cooked soycurls, and a delectable sauce -- maybe a tad sweet, but still great. Lovely stuff. 4.5/5 The Pad See Ew ($14.75) with tofu was beautifully done, coming with with perfectly cooked flat wide rice noodles, broccoli, carrots, bean sprouts, and tofu. 5/5 I forget the name of the last dish we got, but it was a Pumpkin Basil Stirfry of some sort, which we got with tofu. This was perhaps the highlight, coming with so much delicious crispy basil. The pumpkin was thinly sliced and not very sweet (which I appreciated). This came with a ton of fresh veggies. Adored this dish. 5/5 We got 2 main dishes 4/5 on the spiciness scale, which was adequate -- I could've done with spicier. Overall, a little pricy, but the quality is top-notch, so it's worth every penny. Great, fast service. Couldn't recommend this place more. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Portland.

I wish I could give them 4.5 stars because my gripes are pretty minimal. I love finding amazing vegan food, especially that I can get delivered. We're flexatarian and try to stay more vegan when cooking at home, so it's fantastic to find really good food from restaurants so we can keep to it even more often. We were perfectly happy with the way the food arrived, the prices, and portions. The flavors were amazing and you decide the heat level of just about everything here, which is nice so we can mix it up between the different dishes. One issue we had was the coconut zucchini. There was no trace of coconut. You couldn't see it or taste it, it was just a tempura. Now for me that's fine, but for my partner who doesn't like zucchini it would need that in order for him to maybe like it. So although it was delicious for me it wasn't so much for my partner. There was plenty of fried tofu in every dish, but for me, I would've liked a little more veg in the curries. I like a lot of veggies so it lacked a little there for me, but my partner didn't care at all. I'm guessing because the flavor was so good he could care less. So this place is definitely a go-to for amazing vegan Thai food. Kind of wish I had a reason to go every week just to make my way through the menu!

Ordered via Uber eats and it was bland and watery. Not sure how the service is, hears it's good so might go back to try in person.

I originally went to another establishment across the street and I sat down, looked at the menu and got up and walked out. I passed this place on my way to the place. I was originally headed and wanted to come back. It was lunchtime and they had open sitting and I noticed the hockey game was on all the TV screens. There was open seating. The bartender took my order at my table. I decided to get the barbecue chicken calzone and the garlic fries. The barbecue chicken calzone came with pulled chicken cheddar cheese, onions and barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce was perfect sweet spicy Tan. Everything you want and a great barbecue sauce. I did ask for marinara because there were some sides of the bread on the calzone that I dipped in the pizza sauce.. perfect! I told the bartender what I'd like to drink, and he made some concoction a.k.a. his own version with ginger, beer and whiskey. The calzone was great. The fries were amazing. My beverage was perfect and right on time. Nice hometown feel local sports vibe, the USA Olympic team had just won gold in women's ice hockey. This may be a must-stop next time I'm in Portland.

We walked in at about 6:30pm on a Wednesday night and was kind of greeted by one of the servers. She wasn't too friendly and seemed to be irritated that we said we'd wait for a table as opposed to sitting at the bar. Once seated, that same server came over to try to take our orders and once again seemed irritated that we weren't ready to order. Luckily, another server took over from there and we had a pleasant anniversary meal the rest of the time! Here's everything we tried: Devilish Eggs - This came with 4 deviled eggs and was just okay. The crispy bacon pieces was the best part of this dish! Steak Tartare - This was the main reason we chose this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed! We spent our first anniversary together in Europe and had so much tartare and this really brought back some wonderful memories for us. The tartare was rich and mustardy, beef flavor was great, and it sort of just melted in your mouth. The crispy chips paired well with the tartare and I can't wait to come back and have this again! Mussels - This was a big bowl of mussels in a white wine garlic sauce with toasted baguettes. Mussels tasted fresh and garlicky with just a bit of funk from whatever cheese they grated on top. The toasted baguettes were so good dipped into that white wine broth. I wish this dish came with skinny fries but it was also so good as is. Would definitely order this again! Field Greens - I asked for this to come out with my meal but it came out about 10 minutes before the entrees came out. It was very light and refreshing. I saved half to have with my meal but most of it was wilted already by the time our mains came out. But it's okay! The fried chicken actually had a small portion of this salad on its plate. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known, so next time will skip the side salad altogether! Fried chicken - I really wanted to like this dish but alas, fried chicken breast is very hard to make juicy. I definitely prefer dark meat because that's harder to mess up. My partner enjoyed it but he doesn't mind dry chicken. The sauces were phenomenal! That mustard sauce was great and the sweet glaze was delicious! The potatoes would have been a lot better if they were smaller to get more of that crust to creamy potato ratio but still okay the way it was. My fiance cleaned this plate up! Brown Butter Cake - This cake was phenomenal! It's hard to mess anything with Brown Butter up so I had really high expectations for this and they certainly did not disappoint. The server was nice enough to throw candles on it since we were celebrating and it really ended our meal on the sweetest note! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A bit dark and romantic. It really reminded me of the small bistros in France that we frequented while we were out there. We'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

I came with three friends for lunch; we all placed individual orders then took our numbers (on a small standup sign) back to our table to chat and enjoy the day. Soon food came for the two men in our party, and we women encouraged them to eat rather than wait on our food. So eat they did, and in another 10 or so minutes more food arrived, but not my order. After a short discussion we realized that my food had been given to one of the men, and he had eaten it; now the food he actually ordered arrived, leaving him with two meals and me with none. Our server seemed to think it was our fault that we got the wrong food, and brought me a roti to eat but never replaced my meal. I was not pleased to have spent $17.50 for a serving of roti, which wasn't exactly the lunch I had paid for. I think i wpuld have liked the food if I'd had a chance to eat what I ordered. it would be most appropriate for the restaurant to refund my money since, through no fault of my own, I did not receive the food I paid for. It was the server who mistakenly put my food down elsewhere, and my friend who ate it had no idea it wasn't his. Unfortunately there was not so much as an apology, and I won't be returning to Mirasata.
