I visited Deda Restaurant in Pasadena and it turned out to be one of the more unique dining experiences in the area because it focuses on Georgian cuisine, which is not something you commonly see in many cities. The menu highlights traditional dishes from Georgia that combine influences from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. One of the standout items is khachapuri, a boat-shaped bread filled with melted cheese and often topped with an egg. The bread is soft on the inside with a slightly crisp crust, and the rich cheese filling makes it incredibly satisfying. Another memorable dish is khinkali, Georgian dumplings that are filled with meat and broth. Eating them is part of the experience since you pick them up by the top knot and bite carefully so the flavorful broth stays inside. The restaurant also offers grilled meats and other traditional dishes that highlight the bold yet balanced spices typical of Georgian cooking. The flavors tend to focus on herbs, garlic, and slow-cooked ingredients rather than overwhelming heat. The atmosphere inside the restaurant feels warm and welcoming, with a comfortable dining space that encourages sharing dishes with friends or family. Georgian cuisine is often enjoyed communally, and the menu works well for that style of dining. Service during my visit was attentive and helpful, especially when explaining dishes that may be unfamiliar to people trying Georgian food for the first time. Overall, Deda Restaurant offers a memorable introduction to Georgian cuisine in Pasadena. If you enjoy exploring international food and trying something different, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting. read more

Unfortunately, our second visit was even more disappointing than the first. After quite a while, I decided to give Deda another chance, hoping that the food and service had improved. Unfortunately, the experience was actually worse this time. The service was terrible. Our waiter seemed unhappy to be working there and was neither welcoming nor attentive, which immediately affected the overall experience. The food was equally disappointing. We ordered the pear lemonade, but it tasted much more like apple than pear. The pork was extremely dry, tough, and difficult to chew. The eggplant rolls were especially disappointing and tasted nothing like what I would expect from a well-prepared Georgian dish. Once again, the Adjaruli khachapuri was the only highlight. It was good, just as it was during our first visit. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I intentionally came back after a significant amount of time because I thought the restaurant deserved a second chance and would have had time to improve. Instead, both the food and service were worse. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has so much potential, which makes the experience even more frustrating. After two disappointing visits, unfortunately, I don't see myself giving it a third chance. read more

Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff. We were celebrating my husband's, mother in law's and sister in law's birthdays last night! Party did arrive 10 minutes early so I won't knock them for asking us to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. The food was delicious and beautifully curated. We enjoyed our dinner so much, I forgot to photograph everything. My husband grew up eating khinkali in Armenia, Georgia & Russia. He is a very picky eater but he was raving about each bite he took and honestly, he cleaned house! He ate every bit of dinner & dessert! He is the last person to want to try fish/seafood dish, but he tried both of what we ordered and loved it! Every single plate was impeccable. I wouldn't consider the servings to be small, remember this is not the Cheesecake Factory. I will list everything I ordered for a table of 6 and I have photos of half. Might I add service was lovely. Miguel was head of the bar and took care of us at our table - he made us delicious cocktails off menu & provided us a round of shots at the end. I would highly recommend this establishment and we will most certainly be back! Not pictured: khinkali with cheese, pomegranate glazed salmon, sturgeon & house pickles, other cocktails curated by Miguel. read more

As someone proudly Georgian, stepping into Deda in Pasadena felt like coming home. From the moment you walk in, you're wrapped in the warmth of true Georgian hospitality--something that can't be faked, only felt. The ambiance is cozy yet refined, with thoughtful touches that speak to our heritage. You don't just eat here--you experience Georgia. Now, let's talk food. The khinkali are next-level juicy, aromatic, and made exclusively with Wagyu beef, no pork. That's not just a premium choice, it's a respectful one. These are deeply authentic and lovingly prepared, with top-tier ingredients. A rare and thoughtful touch in Georgian cuisine abroad. The khachapuri is golden, gooey comfort. The chakapuli bold, herby, and full of soul, brought me straight back to my roots. And the Georgian wine selection? Spot on. Whether you're discovering Georgian cuisine or grew up with it like I did, Deda is more than a restaurant. It's a cultural experience, a celebration of tradition, and a taste of home. Bravo to the Deda team for honoring our roots and opening the door wide for everyone to enjoy them. ! read more

This has to be one of the best places I have been to!!! So a friend has been recommending this place to me for a while now and eventually I got to visit it. I wish I had sooner!! The service was amazing, the servers were very nice. I really loved the ambiance of the place, and the food, it was amazing!!! I was so happy with the place, can't wait to take my partner there this weekend!! Edit: So I decided to go in early than i had planned with my partner and to say I was disappointed is an understatement! The service was very slow, we were ignored for a whole 20 minutes after we arrived. When the waiter finally got a chance to take our order, it also took a long time before we could get out food!! Finally we are after the long and frustrating service we are going to get some nice meal, right? Wrong!!! Everything was awful! The food was so soggy and didn't seem it was fresh! It was so bad that we actually didn't finish our food. We were so disappointed, and our evening was ruined. I would not recommend. I believe I got lucky the first time. read more

We celebrated a birthday dinner at Deda, and the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. Our server, Alona, was absolutely outstanding. She walked us through every dish with such warmth and knowledge, making each recommendation feel personal and exciting. Thanks to her, we discovered incredible Georgian wines that paired beautifully with our meal. We ordered the traditional lobio, the comforting imeruli khachapuri, the iconic adjaruli khachapuri, and perfectly crafted khinkali -- every single dish was bursting with authentic flavor and prepared to perfection. And to finish, the Napoleon cake was heavenly, the perfect sweet finale to an unforgettable meal. What made the evening even more special was when the entire staff joined in to celebrate with us, creating a joyful, heartfelt moment we will always remember. Deda delivered an unforgettable dining experience -- warm hospitality, incredible food, and a truly celebratory atmosphere. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Great restaurant with delicious food and welcoming staff! We celebrated our anniversary here and had a truly memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted. For our meal, we chose a selection of veal, lamb, and beef dishes -- each one cooked to perfection, tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The meat was juicy and well-seasoned, clearly prepared with care. We also ordered khachapuri (cheese-filled bread) and khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and they were absolutely outstanding -- authentic, hearty, and full of rich flavors. The ambiance was cozy yet elegant, ideal for a special occasion. The staff were attentive (Nova) without being intrusive. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to explore delicious Georgian cuisine or simply enjoy a warm, satisfying meal in a charming setting. We'll definitely be back! read more

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Deda in Pasadena. If you've never had Georgian food, this is the place to start -- rich, savory, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Our server, Nova, truly elevated the evening. With our permission, he took the reins after asking a few thoughtful questions about our taste preferences and curated the entire meal for us. Every single dish he selected was exceptional. The Wagyu dumplings were incredible -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The veal stew with creamed potatoes was deeply savory and comforting without being heavy. And the warm eggplant salad was a standout -- layered, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. Nova's confidence, knowledge, and attention to detail made the experience feel special and effortless. We'll absolutely be back -- Deda is a gem in Pasadena. read more

We live in LA since 2021, and it has been a dream of ours to have a Georgian restaurant in our city. Not a take-out place, not a little cafe, not one or two Georgian dishes on a menu, but a RESTAURANT, where you can host your out-of-town guests, celebrate your family's special events and just have that amazing food that the whole world is lately raving about. Friendly, welcoming, cozy place. Amazing food. My son is no stranger to khinkali, we cook them in our house, and he usually eats 2-3. He had 5 at Deda! Khachapuri is incredible! Salads are super fresh. The trout in walnut sauce is my favorite appetizer. Wild Boar sausage is on another level. Highly recommend to anyone who grew up with this food, as well as those who would like to discover Georgian food for the first time! read more

We had a fantastic experience at Deda in Pasadena, CA! Everything was top-notch from the authentic and flavorful dishes to the warm, cozy atmosphere filled with Georgian music that added a wonderful cultural touch. The food truly tasted like Georgia! I highly recommend trying the Khachapuri, a must-have dish, and pairing it with a glass of Georgian wine for the full experience. Every bite and sip felt like a trip to Georgia. The restaurant is charming, the staff is friendly, and the ambiance makes it a perfect spot for both a casual dinner and a special night out. There are might be some slight delays with the service, but the restaurant was packed on the Saturday night when we visited. So it is ok. We would definitely visit again read more

Absolutely loved Deda! The food is incredibly authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. The beef khinkali were amazing--juicy, flavorful, and exactly how khinkali should be. The khachapuris were another highlight: warm, cheesy, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. And don't skip the drinks! The cocktails were fantastic, and the pomegranate lemonade was so refreshing and delicious. What made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. A special thank you to Nikita and Pyotr for taking such wonderful care of us and making our visit feel extra special. Amazing Georgian food, beautiful hospitality, and a place I'll absolutely be coming back to. Highly recommend! read more

We recently dined at a relatively new Georgian restaurant in Pasadena, and it was an absolute delight. This is the kind of place you'd be proud to bring guests to, offering them a genuine taste of Georgian cuisine in a beautifully inviting setting. The ambiance is warm and authentic, with tasteful decor that transports you straight to Georgia. The food is exceptional--every dish we tried was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. The hospitality truly stands out, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. And as a practical note, there's convenient parking just around the corner with validation for the first two hours, making it easy and stress-free to visit. read more

Deda Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The food tasted fresh and homemade, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation. We ordered several dishes to share and everything came out hot and well-presented. The dumplings were especially good, with flavorful filling and a nice texture. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The staff checked on us throughout the meal and were happy to answer questions about the menu. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, making it a nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal with family or friends. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely come back to try more of the menu. read more

We visited Deda Pasadena during a Tuesday evening and had a mixed experience. The menu is full of interesting Georgian dishes , definitely not something you see every day. A lot of the food was fun to explore and felt unique. It's the kind of place where you're glad you experienced something new. The service was the biggest downside. We often had to wave to get a server's attention, whether it was to order or ask for something small. It made the meal feel disjointed. Overall, the food is interesting and worth trying if you're curious about Georgian cuisine, but the service needs improvement for the experience. read more

We've been on the hunt for a Georgian restaurant in LA for many years, and we finally found a truly authentic one. First of all, the ambience is charming and cozy. The staff is incredibly welcoming and does their best to make every guest feel comfortable. Now, the food... if I could give 11 stars, I would. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. All the dishes were phenomenal, but the must-tries are definitely the khachapuri and khinkali. The desserts are homemade and perfectly executed -- I highly recommend trying them all. Amazing! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! We had another amazing dining experience with my friends, and Fabio was our server. He was spectacular - friendly, professional, and so attentive! He provided excellent service and went above and beyond in making sure we enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious as always, and the atmosphere was simply perfect! My friends love this place, too; it's their new go-to spot! Due to our recommendations, our friends have been dining here and even booking the spot for their parties. We look forward to continue patronizing this gem in Pasadena! read more

I've been to Deda multiple times, and it never disappoints! It's a must-visit for khachapuri and one of only two restaurants in greater Los Angeles serving truly authentic Georgian khinkali. (And yes, if your khinkali comes with sour cream or any kind of sauce, it's not authentic!) The food is consistently excellent, the service is great, and they have an amazing selection of Georgian wines and spirits. If you're looking to experience authentic Georgian food and hospitality in LA, Deda is definitely the place to go. read more
