The food is outstanding. I've been pleased every time with both dine-in and carry out.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Naperville!! The food is delicious especially the home style chicken curry. The manager is extremely friendly and always makes us feel welcomed! Would highly recommend this place! read more

Food was great, service was great, but i think they short handed and the person that took our order misunderstood that we wanted mild and not spicy and we ended up getting a dish which was very spicy...& that therefore just killed the evening and the rest of the meal. I will give them another try and hopefully we experience a better outcome, but until then 4 stars is what they deserve. read more

I love this place. I don't eat spicy food so I always request a mild version and they always deliver exactly what I want. The manager or owner recognizes me even though we don't go there very often so that makes me feel at home and welcomed. The food is always delicious and I eat way more than necessary! The interior is very clean and decorated in a more high end style than what you would expect for a strip mall. Give this place a try. I always recommend the butter chicken and naan!! read more

We decided to give this place another chance as the food tasted half way decent the first two times, but the service was slow. This time, it happened to be the owner 40th birthday. They had blocked off the area. When we entered we asked them if the place was open to us and they assured us the restaurant was open. After over an hour wait for 2 dishes, we were served the wrong dish. They took it back and the correct food was served but 3 notches spicier than we ordered. We had specified we want mold and this was spicy if not 911 hot. Needless to say, we left hungry and disappointed. read more

Let Me be Frank..! I have been through out Illinois, exploring places, eating all kind of foods and everything. I, Being a Hyderabadi can sense the change of taste when it comes to Biryani. Location: Decent location with no issues in parking. Food: Orderd chicken biryani, lamb biryani, mango lassi, naan and butter chicken. Good: Chicken , lamb biryani and butter chicken was good. Butter chicken had fish smell. Free appetizer appalam was ok. Not Good: Mango lassi too sour and full of yogurt. Butter Naan was too dry. read more

When one of my colleagues purchased catering from Deccan Spice for our office, I simply had to have the Chicken Biryani again. Since then I have been to their Naperville restaurant about five times so far. Each time has been a great experience. Very flavorful food, high quality ingredients and highly professional service. You can tell that everyone working there cares about the restaurant, and that makes you feel good about dining there. I think the Biryanis stand out at Deccan Spice, because the flavors are well balanced and unique. Selecting a Biryani is a good value, because one order comes with a lot of food to share. If I were to offer Deccan Spice a little friendly advice, they could work on the bathrooms, but the overall experience is still great. The new menus are very nice looking and straightforward. Nice work on that. read more

My wife and I have been to this restaurant three times, and Deccan Spice has never failed to deliver! Authentic and delicious Indian food!!

We last went to Deccan Spice 5 years ago when it first opened and there were definitely some teething troubles. This week we finally returned, looking for something new and thinking maybe we had misjudged it since it is still thriving when many other restaurants have failed around it. It was delicious!! Our waitress Ruwa was incredibly helpful. I need to eat vegetarian and dairy free and the staff were so good in steering me towards the numerous items that I could choose from on the menu. It's rare for me to have a choice of food on a restaurant menu let alone several! Everything we ordered was really tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. I requested medium spicy which had a bit more kick than I am used to in a medium spicy meal so I would go mild next time. And there will be a next time! It's a nice small restaurant with a personal touch (I am not a fan of the tv screens however but that seems to be the norm round here). I'm sorry we have left it this long to return! read more

Excellent food. They are open late on weekends and I was expecting leftover food but everything was fresh and tasty. The portions were generous, enough to satisfy 3 hungry kids and 2 adults with some to spare for breakfast! Will definitely be there for a late night biryani craving!! read more

What an amazing spread of choices, very authentic and entry dish was very delicious and reminded me of food back home in Hyderabad. Be sure to select a spice level that you like. Ulava chaaru biryani was very delicious and original. I even catered from this place for my daughter's birthday, everyone was very happy with the food. I hope they continue the same quality and taste. The exPerience at Deccan spice was unique and unforgettable... We will keep going back. read more

Best butter chicken I've ever had! Quality is great, service is great. They have a lunch buffet which I wanna try. Prices are fair. Place is clean and done well. Naan is great. Goat was great. If you like Indian you will like this place. read more

Found Deccan Spice on Grubhub. Ordered Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken and we had it delivered thru the app. The order arrived earlier than expected. Everything was very good. Naan was fluffy and thick and perfectly cooked. Chicken was tender and moist. Sauces were very flavorful and perfect amount of spicy heat (I like it with a little kick but not so your mouth is on fire). Not the best flavor I have ever had in the area, But definitely in the top 3. Definitely will order again. Each meal came with a carton of basmati rice too which is nice that you don't have to order it a la carte. The portions are decent for the price; 2 dinners and 1 naan is plenty for 2 hungry people. read more

I love this spot! The food is outstanding and the service is attentive. Seriously some of the best food I've ever eaten. Best samosas in town! read more

LOVE, LOVE LOVE. OK, so my boyfriend and I drove from downtown Chicago to get food here (spoiler alert...it was worth it). I spent a month in India last year and have not been able to get food similar to there in the US, until now. The food is 100% authentic and 100% delicious. They have the type of Indian dishes Americans are used to and then dishes authentic to all regions of India (which is a HUGE and diverse country with a vast array of flavors and dishes). My boyfriend got the goat biryani and I got a tandoori platter with uttapam all was amazing. When you go make sure to tell them the level of spiciness you want (I got "child mild" and it was still a little spicy, my bf got "mild" and his eyes were watering-- but in a good way;-)). I would also try something new each time you go so you can discover different types of Indian foods not typically served in the US. Their Idlies are really good too and I have never found these in the US before. Run, don't walk-- it's really good, the servers are delightful and you won't be disappointed (if you are, call me and I'll come get your food and eat it for you :-) ). read more

If you want to have biriyani this is the best place to have it . I had biriyani in many other restaurants but none of them tastes good like Deccan spice . It's really tasty . Place is clean and tidy . Staff is interactive . Wednesday's they do have offer one plus one ( if you order one biriyani the other one is free ) I'm vegetarian and I took my other friends who eat non veg and even they loved non-veg biriyani. So overall I can tell that all biriyani's are tasty read more

I haven't had such good Indian food since I was in India. If you're searching for a top-notch Indian restaurant with a diverse menu, this is the place. The staff was kind and attentive, very pleasant and eager to please. The place had a lot of people in it, but it wasn't crowded to the point where it was uncomfortable. The Mango Lassi was perfect and their Palak Paneer and Chicken Tikki Masala were among the best I have ever had in life (and I love Indian food). We literally are going back tomorrow to try their buffet so we can try more of their dishes. I could eat at this restaurant daily. You will be knock-down impressed with their cuisine. read more

I have been coming to Deccan spice for three years now. This is my favorite place to go for Indian food. Staff is very kind and nice and happy to help with questions about the food. My favorite thing to get is any of the biryanis. They are all boss hogging and delicious. Good portions on everything on the menu always have a meal for the next day after going here. Good vibes and being open until 10 is very crucial. read more

Delicious, chicken tikka masala was good enough to want to lick the plate clean or find something see to dip in the sauce. The chicken dum biryani was also really good. Samosas are big and flavorful(tasty). I feel like I need to return and try other menu items. Medium spice is about perfect to stand up to the bold flavors. read more

We've been here a few times and the food is always delicious! Good portion sizes and pricing, glad we live nearby!

This place was great! Just want to challenge the kitchen to wear masks.

This was my 3rd time at Deccan Spice and I'm the only person in my family that likes Indian food - which should say enough. Every dish has been amazing, but I especially recommend the Gobi Manchurian as an appetizer - battered cauliflower in a chili sauce. The Chicken Tikka Masala is to die for, and I had to stop myself from eating all of my Kadai Murgh (chicken with peppers and onions, fairly heavy on the cardamom) in one sitting because it was simply delicious. The Apollo Fish is listed as an appetizer but is big enough to be an entree; it comes straight from the grill and takes a little longer to prepare, but it's worth it. The fish was done to perfection and flavored beautifully. The staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to make suggestions. Every time I've visited, the server has taken the time to ask questions about my preferences (veg or meat? creamy or savory?), explain vocabulary, and describe dishes, in addition to confirming the preferred level of heat. On a Saturday night the crowd was primarily ethnic. In the interest of full disclosure: the white paper on the tables was pristine, but the overhang of the under-tablecloth was not. Beverages aren't full of ice - water is served without ice and a drink ordered on the rocks has few 'rocks'. I only mention these things in the interest of complete honesty, and this would never prevent me from going back (thus the 5 star rating). I hope to return as soon as I find another friend who will go with me. read more
