Excellent restaurant offering a unique blend of traditional indian food with contemporary flavours. A true one of its kind Indian eclectic cuisine place in the tri state area. We ordered the hyderabadi dum biryani, lamb rogan josh and the Goan shrimp curry, all cooked to perfection. There a distinct difference in taste when you compare this food with the typical Indian food that most are used to consuming. I would categorise the cuisine as Indian gourmet! The service was top notch with our server and the managers inquiring if the food was upto the make, which indeed it was. Refreshing ambience, the owners have taken special care to ensure the decor and layout resembles one worthy of a fine dining experience. Special mention for General Manager Ganesh for making sure we were thoroughly satisfied with our food, and to our host Rashmi for ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. Will definitely be coming back and most definitely recommend to all!! read more

Everything from the service, to the drinks, to the food, to the ambiance was amazing. Our server Victor was extremely attentive and had great suggestions on what to order. My partner and I had the Lamb Chops, the Lobster Rasa, the Samosas and the Garlic Naan. I am not from Jersey but I would definitely drive the hour just eat here again. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and an intimate spot for a date night. read more

For a restaurant in Edison,NJ this is exorbitantly expensive. I could go to Broadway in NYC, pay less and get food that is higher quality than what they serve here. Not to mention, drinking still water is $8 per person. LOL. read more

Great experience! Went with a couple of of workers for dinner and great food ! Lamb on skewer very well seasoned and nice presentation. Chicken lollipop appetizer a hit ! Will definitely go back ! read more

Good food good service! Shoutout to Victor our server! It was a little pricey for 2 people in Edison NJ.

Food quality was good , all curries have a good unique taste and service fast. The hostesses were very unfriendly and had an attitude . They charge you $8 for stupid bottled water !! Which is ridiculous read more

The service here is phenomenal! Bryan is literally the man, the food was exceptional and it came out in a timely fashion. We were not waiting for too long and we got seated pretty fast. The restaurant itself looks very pleasant. I most definitely will be back and I highly recommend coming here if you are a fan of Indian food! read more

Food is made extra spicy even when you ask for mild, then they refuse to provide tap water but instead charge $8/bottle. Complete scam.

Good vegetarian food :) The food carrying robot was entertaining!! read more

No doubt I love their food but their customer service is Horrible. My husband called 1 day ahead to book a booth and the person he spoke to said no problem we will give you something special. Next day we went and they refused to give us the booth or sofa stating that it's for bigger parties so that means couples can't sit on those sofa. We still sat down to have dinner as I said their food is amazing..we had our appetizers and then we decided to pack our entrees to go. I didn't check my bag before leaving and then when I saw the bag my naan's were missing and there was 1/4 of naan from someone's else table in my bag..I called 4 times to speak to manager but everytime they said call back or tell me what happened and finally I spoke to one girl who refused to give me her name so told her what happened and she assured me the manager will call me back but I never received a call.. read more

Inconsistent with quality of food and by far the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my life. These people have no sense of hospitality. read more

Super food, very good service. Every item was above average. Was a while ago since I visited but cooking was as good as it gets.

This place is a joke.... First of all, the place looks like it's only halfway ready to receive customers. One of the worst experiences we ever had in our lifetime. The way they are treating the customers is worse. The attitude they show towards customers is unprofessional. They don't even care about the customers as they are very rude. read more

I love Indian food. This place looks nice on the outside and it's fancy inside although the tables are very crowded together. All prices of foods were higher than what we normally have seen at other Indian restaurant. Charged eight dollars for a bottle water, charged nine dollars for rice ? The food was mediocre At best. Won't be going back to this restaurant. read more

Best Indian food we tasted!!! Love the Ambience the drinks and food!!! Best sauces and presentation. Will definitely come back.

I wish there could be a negative star rating option because this restaurant has the cheapest and the most disgusting policy I have ever come across!! We were charged $80($40 per person) for moving our reservation and the staff was nasty and rude. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever!!! read more

Decor is very good. But the service is very slow. They don't serve water in a glass which is a common practice. .You must buy water at $8 per bottle. I heard some customers expressing their surprise at that. Wait staff doesn't have a good understanding of their menu. Food is good, read more

Food and Ambiance is amazing, Host Govind was very cordial and made sure every dish was made to our perfection.

Go there at your own risk - not worth the $$$$ The good: -Food is okay at best -Ambiance is good -Bar Tender was nice and cared about peoples' preferences and made good mix drinks. The Bad: -Their attitude sucks, when I called to make a reservation - was rudely told to do it online -When I called to increase the # of people in my party, was rudely told to 'make reservations online' and I had to repeat myself 3 times that instead of 14 we were going to be 15 people and that I wasn't calling to make a reservation -They don't want to serve you tap water - Seriously. They sell you $8 (+tax +gratuities) bottles of water. I always drink tap water and I haven't ever been told that tap isn't an option (prior to yesterday, well there is always a first). We aren't in Hyderabad or Chennai where tap water isn't safe to consume. -Service is mediocre (what I expect at a $$ restaurant, when I am at a $$$$ restaurant - I expect a lot better) -I get that restaurant have to charge a cakeage fee, but that has to be reasonable. In this case it was $5 per slice. But they insisted on and charged for the entire table although only 5-6 slices were cut and served by them. -You won't believe how they brought in the cake and didn't let my wife even touch the cake. Or for family members to feed her a bite. As soon as she blew it, they almost forcefully took it away. I felt this restaurant doesn't care about their client's satisfaction and it is about them making more $s. Any business can charge whatever they want, but then please deliver service and quality which you are charging for. Sorry but I won't be going back and I won't be recommending this place to my friends and family. read more

We had be to this awful place for the first time and the greeter was arrogant at the first place, service and food was awful. The server offered us to do the review and once did the review we we're being forced to change it to 10/10 and upon denying they charged us for the things we didn't order. This place has good ambience but disgusting staff, owner, service and awful food. Despite spending around $ 300 they were not even polite. I have hospitality businesses too but I don't insult and treat my customers the way they do. "MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE PLEASE DON'T EVER EVER GO TO DECCAN SPICE" read more

My hopes were really high for this place. I would not suggest this restaurant to any of my friends or family. Inside the restaurant it is really nice but everything else is garbage. It took the waiter 10 mins to come to our table. When they did come they took our drink orders. One of the guys ordered a Heineken beer it took them about 15 mins to bring it out. Instead of bringing a beer they gave a smoothie. We explained to the waiter that we ordered a beer. She apologized and said she will go get it right away. It was not the only drink they messed up. We also ordered a Hennessy and ginger. They bought out Hennessy and coke. We didn't say anything we just accepted it because they took forever to bring it out. Half the ice was melted. It was already a bad experience and we haven't even order appetizers yet. We ordered paneer tikka chicken tikka and chicken 65. This also took a while to come out. Chicken 65 was not good at all. You could tell the chicken was old and chewy. Chicken tikka and paneer tikka a robot bought them to us and one of the staff members lit it on fire. The concept of this is pretty cool if it tasted good. We didn't like it the chicken tikka or paneer tikka. Basically it's just food coloring put on the items to make it look presentable. After all this I was fed up with the service and lack of communication from our waiter. The owner came over to our table mid way through the appetizers and asked us if we liked our experience so far. Explained to the owner that the service is terrible and before he could let me elaborate on how the food was he cut me off saying they are short staff due to covid. Thats not an excuse the restaurant first off isn't that big they had more then enough staff. They should really think about closing down for a day and training there employees because it seems like they do not know what they are doing at all. From the waiter all the way to the bartender. So now let's talk about how ridiculously over priced this place is. They consider them selves as a high end 5 star restaurant. They charge for water which is really wrong. This is Edison!! I would understand if this was New York but it's not. Whoever is considering going here and thinks this place is legit it's not. It's basically trying to lure customers by looks. Save your time save your money because this place is trash. The owner thinks he has the best restaurant in Edison. I recommend if you want that fine dining high end experience go to aarzu which is in freehold NJ. You will have a much better experience and much better service then this place for sure. Deccan spice owner needs to understand how to take feed back and not try to justify everything. read more

Honestly, we won't go back to Deccan Spice. There are just 4-5 servers and the place is chaotic and packed. The pricing is high and the gravy in all dishes seemed the same. I don't know what went wrong but their food was extra salty yesterday and when I complained to the owner - he casually told me that no one has complained about their food before. Sure, please take note and criticism well for your restaurants own good. Everyone may not find it palatable - especially when you are paying so much. Also, they don't have tap water so you have to buy VOSS water and it's $8 a bottle - steep right ? The poor servers were scrambling to help. The food comes in after a long wait, the breads come in after another 10 minutes. I guess they were not prepared for the Father's Day rush but then don't take so many reservations !! We were in at 9.30 and out by 12'ish and there were people who came in after 11 pm as well !! Yesterday was just not a customers delight day !! read more

Just came here for the 2nd time and it was phenomenal. The paneer appetizer was so good and they lit it on fire lolol. The garlic naan is amazing too!! Would recommend to come :) read more

Worst customer experience ever after spending close to 300 dollars on lunch for a birthday celebration for my son. The owner/manager became belligerent after I questioned some up charges on the bill that was not mentioned on the menu or to us before ordering. The owner said he had received similar complaints about charging for luxury still water (no price on menu or any other options given for soft drinks, etc.) and that they can do what they want as it is not illegal to refuse to provide plain tap water. Then proceeded to tell me I was free to file a complaint with the ABC but refused to give me his name. Then he began to badger the poor waitress with questions in front of the whole restaurant. At that point we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible so we paid the $32.00 for water and left. This completely ruined what was an otherwise excellent meal with exceptional service by the staff. I've never walked out of a restaurant so insulted before. Also not one person said happy birthday to my son. So rude! Will never return again! read more

Awesome food ! Lord to choose from on menu. Robot brings you your food super cool. Great atmosphere as well.

This place is a disaster. First of all they are super expensive. Next they made me wait for good 30-40 mins for a take out order. And when they finally got the order, they did not have spoons in the bag. When I asked them they receptionist came back saying there are no spoons. You guys charge $22 for a Biriyani but don't stock up on spoons. What a shame! The food is not so great either and does not live up to the price. read more

They make mistake and make customer roam to get that refunded. They also overcharge/swap bills and if we call they will ask you come directly to the restaurant and argue. We didn't get proper response and filed a complaint. Please check your bills with items so that you dont loose your money. read more

H neatly too bougie looking for mediocre food - prices are insane the species had my stomach turning for days and they don't have much variety - Personally i would never go again read more

Visited in May 2021. Overall, poor value and average experience. Positives were decor, ambience and friendly waiter; but still not worth the highly overpriced menu. I could pay the same money for NYC eatery with better quality food and better experience for their scenic views. Negatives: Again highly overpriced but what really ticked me off was 18% mandatory gratuity on top of the bill. read more

The place and ambience are great. The food was tasty however it didn't taste like upscale Indian quality. Just your average Indian restaurant. The prices are way too high. Lamb chops are 42 dollars on the menu and daal was 12-15 dollars. Not worth the price you are paying. read more

Good service, best ambience in Edison and good food. Was impressed that the food did not feel heavy. All dishes were of very good quality, had Paneer Angarey, Gobi Manchurian, Malai Kofta, Bhindi, Baingan and Naan. Our non alcoholic drinks were so-so only. Server Adrian and owner were very nice. read more

Came here months ago. Seems they changed staff for the 100th time and the management. They just don't have things together there when you witness the owner actually arguing with guests. So sad. Bye bye !! read more

My parents came here on Valentine's Day and it was the worst experience of their life. The restaurant had a pre fixed meal which was $75 a person. The meal was supposed to be a four course meal and the second course didn't even come. After complaining, the manager, anjali, didn't do anything to help us and was not polite. We only got one dessert when there was supposed to be two, the paneer was like a brick, and there was no social distancing at all. This was a waste of money and we will not be going back. read more

We went recently for my mom and MIL bday. They were able to accommodate our party of 12. The food was very good, drinks were great, and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant for really almost any occasion. Higher end than some typical neighborhood Indian restaurants but still family oriented. read more

Stay away from this place. One of the priciest places in the area with the most mediocre food. The dishes were all made by a seemingly novice chef who has no idea that Indian dishes need time to cook the masala, onions, tomatoes etc. They force you to buy water bottles for 8 dollars. The worst was that the rotis and naans were made 3-4 hours in advance and reheated in the microwave. We asked them to prepare fresh and they re-served the same thing. Never again read more

I've been there twice with my husband. I really want to keep going as fine dining Indian restaurants with a clean and spacious layout are not all that many. Also the full bar is a big attraction! They have a delicious lychee cocktail. The food is very good but not excellent. Which is fine...because so much depends on individual taste...literally. My main concern is the service. Really slow. Our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. The first time the barman was scooping huge quantities of ice from one container to the other for almost ten minutes. Something that should have been done before the restaurant opened. The noise itself was jarring. The second time the bar was not even manned and later we found out that the chef was doubling up as barman. The manager came over and apologized and of course used covid as as a reason. However I have been to at least one other similar restaurant which does not seem to be affected by the pandemic. Our server Chris was excellent though. It was a pleasure to interact with this pleasant young man. I will be going there again and hope that these minor irritations will be smoothed out soon. read more

BEST NAAN EVER!!! the garlic naan and the butter naan are so buttery they literally MELT IN YOUR MOUTH IT IS SO GOOD. the food, the service the ambience is sooo perfect!! the chili chicken and daba kadai is to die for!! The restaurant is just there. The flavors of Deccan is missing totally. We ordered vegetable chettinad, my 11 year took a bite and said I can't stand the taste as it was only salt in vegetable. While the gravy had the color, I unfortunately could not get a bit of flavor. Sorry to say, not worth the money. We spent almost 154$, the masala papad was sprinkled with onion and tomato big pieces and jalapeños, sorry that is not a masala papad I know. My experience today for our lunch is nine other than disaster. My bad for not selecting the right lunch option. One of my worst feedback till date. read more
