My experience was not great. Actually I am unlikely to return. These are my points. 1 Minimal parking in front of the restaurant. I spent 30 years in Portland and have genuinely missed the great food there so was very happy to try Decant. First off: the food is fabulous and you will enjoy every single bite. I only took off one star because it is so high priced. Just don't go there if money is an issue for you. I realize everything is expensive these days and I want them to stay in business for sure. Just heads up on that. But you will not be disappointed on the meal. I am just sad Medford does not have more fine dining options because a little competition can level out prices. read more

What a treat. We started with the scallops. They were amazing. The sauce with corn and the shishito peppers was so good. Would have like just a little more of the peppers. My wife got the green garlic and wild mushrooms risotto. She said it was the best she'd ever had. I personally had the tenderloin and braised short rib with asparagus. I had poached shrimp and mushroom risotto, both excellent. With a squeeze of fresh lemon it was divine. The hamburger and truffle fries also perfectly prepared. The only change I would make is that the chef would forego the gougeres and instead serve baguette - the sauce of the shrimp cries out for it. The gougeres as an appetizer appeared lonely on a saucer and were just not delicious. The servings are generous. I would also dial up the flavor of the aioli or offer two, perhaps a signature smoked paprika or?? - that comes with the burger. The menu is perfect for a mix and match to tailor to individual desires. We are so happy to have such a fine restaurant here. read more

We came here for our anniversary dinner over the weekend and this place really deserves all the praise for a very talented chef and kitchen. Everything we had was delicious. They made sure to sit us at a cute table and wished us a happy anniversary, which I appreciated. We ordered the focaccia and an appetizer and I had salmon. My husband ordered a pork dish which was incredible. Every ingredient on our plates tasted fresh and wasn't over-cooked or over-seasoned. My salmon was melt-in-the-mouth perfect. I didn't give 4 starts because there were som hiccups with our service, but as a new restaurant, I'm sure there are kinks to work out. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner and I would highly recommend making a point to come here next time you're in Medford. read more

We had the halibut, New York strip, and Duck. The duck and the strip were cooked perfectly, and the halibut was very well flavored, but unfortunately also well done. When I spoke with the waiter he agreed that the halibut should be medium rare, and that was how they would like to serve it. He also offered to compensate us for the fish being slightly over cooked. Amazing food! Everything we had was delicious. The food is exceptional. The wine list is curated beautifully. We had the beef tartare and halibut crudo- both seriously memorable. Then for the main course we had the steak and a side of butter lettuce salad. The steak was one of the best steaks I've had in my life and the same with the salad. Epic. Incredible sear and perfectly executed. The ambience was clean, calm and comforting. Home run for Medford. How lucky to have this in this little valley. I highly recommend that anyone try this. The wine list is extensive and Irina was so knowledgeable, she helped us pick a wonderful red. The food is an amazing eclectic choice of something for everyone. We ordered the asparagus salad, filet mignon(perfect temp!) roast duck leg and asparagus carbonara. The presentation was really beautiful on every plate (you eat with your eyes first). The portions were generous and delicious. I wouldn't have changed a single item we ordered.
