Pasta

Wonderful pasta and great service. We had a nice portion size of pasta and fresh bread with olive oil and vinegar dip. Drink was fancy and ambiance was nice. Recommend.

Absolutely one of the best places for Italian food! And just in general! The lasagne is amazing but so is everything else. In the warmer months it is a good idea to book a reservation in advance, especially for the outdoor seating overlooking the river. They also have an extensive wine list and impressive collection.

Wonderful location on Ashland creek with great patio dining! My husband loved the lasagna; I had an appetizer that I am not seeing on their online menu: Italian tuna (canned in oil), gorgeous tomatoes, burrata olive oil and basi. I brought half home; the next night I toasted some good bread, spread the burrata, topped with the tuna and the tomatoes. Yummy!!

We visit Ashland every from California to celebrate our Anniversary and to attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We always dine here during our trip...this restaurant never disappoints!!! In the elevator ride up to the restaurant, we met Daniel (manager) who we've known for several years now. He knew we had a reservation and he was going to sit us with our requested server. After he checked us in, he walked us to our table outside and provided us with complementary Prosecco for our anniversary anniversary...such a nice gesture. Our server, Carly, (who we had last year) was wonderful again. She's friendly, informative, and very attentive to your needs.. her recommendations were spot on and definitely enhanced our culinary experience. The smoked carpaccio, bucatini, and Carmel flan were outstanding!!! Also, the pace of the food coming out was impeccable....we will definitely be back again next year

Restaurant is on second floor.

Our first time in Ashland, we wanted to go to something authentic. The gal from the mercantile store recommended Osteria La Bricolla. However we did not have a reservation, but she said to call or sit at the bar. When we got there we got seated immediately. Had the spaghetti my girlfriend had the lasagna. We asked about a pairings. Our server gave us a good recommendation which did not disappoint.

excellent dinner, we made reservations and it was needed dunce they were very busy. Carpaccio was absolutely beautifully tender and scrumptious. Bianche e nere was excellent: squid ink and regular white linguini with shrimp and porcini mushrooms cooked to perfection in a white creamy sauce with some pancetta as well. Very tasty! as dessert we had a caramel flan with amaretto and whipped cream on the side... super delicious as well!! service was great. Parking in downtown is challenging but we found a street spot not too far away. It's a bit on the pricier side but very much worth it!!!! the decor is lovely and "our room" had about 8 tables in it.

Our visit was good from start to end - table was ready for our reservation, and we were greeted warmly by everyone. Carpaccio to start - excellently prepared. The main dishes were very well balanced and tasty - penne pomodoro, squid-ink linguine w/ shrimp, and the tagliatelle w/ wild boar ragu. Lasagna we had high expectations for, but didn't wow us like the others. Desserts were good as well. Would definitely be back if we were are in the area again.

I was with some friends in Ashland for a bachelorette outing this spring, and the restaurant where we had planned on eating dinner ended up having an event going on and we were unable to go there. We ended up just wandering around the area looking for an alternative and stumbled upon Osteria La Briccola; I'm always down for Italian, and it looked like there were some good options for the members of our group who were gluten free. There were 7 of us though, and we were told it would be about a 50-minute wait for a table. It was getting kind of late to be looking for somewhere else to go, so we were like okay, we'll just sit and wait. As we were walking away, the general manager Daniel rushed out and said if we could give him 15 minutes, he could have us set up in the private dining room. We didn't even know such a thing existed, but we said okay, cool. Reader, it could not have possibly been a better experience. We waited a bit (less than 15 minutes, even) and walked into this private space to find a large family-style dining table all set up for us, with candlelight and music and the whole bit. Our server Patrick was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the menu, able to answer all our questions, and had a great sense of humor. Everyone ordered something different and ended up trying bites of each other's food, and it was all delicious. Several of us even ordered dessert; I don't normally, but the salted caramel gelato sounded too good to pass up (and it was well worth it). It was such a great evening and was, I'm sure, 10x better than the other place we'd originally planned on eating at. Thank you Daniel and Patrick for taking such good care of us!

I came solo and got a seat at the small bar on a busy Saturday night. The bartender was outstanding and attentive while orchestrating the drink orders. The vibe was casual but upscale. I had the carpaccio, delicious! Vodka martinis and a couple suggestions from the bartender. The front of the house was attentive and good. Overall great job. Good spot for date night.

I wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday and we're really in the mood for great Italian food... We found the perfect place! The restaurant was really popular and we didn't get seated till 815 which was fine because we got a nice seating location around the bay window. They have a terrific menu, but we settled for the Bucatini and Pappardelle... both outstanding and a bottle of wine! The service was great, but I only have one small criticism... I told the owner in advance that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and I thought maybe... Just maybe... They would treat her to wonderful gelato. I guess it's a thing now that even though you spend three figures on a dinner... You aren't treated to a birthday dessert like the old days. In any event, I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Bucatini al Ragu di Salsiccia (pork - this is the half portion)

We went with our brother and sister-in-law before a play while in Ashland. Definitely make reservations! We were greeted and seated right on time. My wife and I split the Insalata Tricolore con Gorgonzola. It was excellent! We also split the Pappardelle Agnello e Pistacchi (lamb) and loved it. Our guests also split the Gorgonzola salad but ordered the Bucatini al Ragu di Salsiccia (pork). They liked it, but it was a bit plain. I tasted it and agreed. Our lamb had better flavor, in my opinion. Both dishes, however, were very good. Our server, Gina, was very helpful with the wine, our selections and service. The restaurant's kitchen is on the main floor and dining on the second floor. This requires the servers to walk up and down a flight of stairs multiple times in an evening. Quite the workout. We recommend and will likely go back next time we're in town.

I guess if you don't order from the bar, you don't get good service. Lasagna was a little too mushy. Seafood plate was good.

Ask the Community - Osteria La Briccola

I had the cioppino a year ago and it was so good one of the best next to my moms, coming into town this weekend Is the cioppino on the menu every night?

The Osteria La Briccola is constantly changing its menu.

Is it upstairs?

Yes

I rarely travel to Ashland, however, it sounds as though the owner has a restaurant in Los Angeles, where I travel much more frequently. Could I please find out the name of the southern California restaurant?

After some internet sleuthing- I believe the owner of La Briccola Davide Ghizzoni was the executive chef at Ca' Del Sole in LA

Can you bring your own bottle of wine?

I haven't seen anyone bring wine.

Is the lunch menu different? Are their sandwiches?

No the menu is the same as dinner. Sorry no sandwiches.

What is the pricing like? Any pictures of the menu?

Hi. $20-30 a dish. So figure $50 per person with drinks and/or appetizers. It's worth it for a special occasion.

It's just when it came time to order, we had to try several times to flag down our server. We started with Northwest Salad (delish) and the Baby Pretzel Bites were the STAR of the evening. Warm, delicious, and exactly what you'd hope they'd be. The cheese sauce dip was a little thin. The Fresh Vegetable Stir-Fry was okay but we never got the side of tofu so had to ask for it when the meal was almost over. Then it was just grilled with no flavor. The server took it off the bill. Prawn Linguine was overly sauced, salty, and spicy, however the prawns were cooked perfectly I'm thinking this is the kind of place you get a drink at the bar and a pile of fries but dinner for 3 (1 beer, 1 na drink, 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 mains) was ~$99 all in. Had to get up and go to the bar to get our server again for the bill. *Sigh*. At least it was close to the theatre.

She's incredible. We reserved a patio seat and loved it. Our server was Bryce (Brice?). I could already tell that from our previous visits, but it was so good to hear from the source. Randy ordered the Oregeat Spritz which is not on the menu but can be made anyway. He loves it. He started off his meal with an order of garlic bread and the deviled eggs, a new to us app. I wasn't going to eat any but I couldn't resist. It's 4 overflowing halves and crazy yummy. And be sure to add some of the chips in the bowl to your bites. Mmm mmm MMMMM! He also ordered the pork chop for the first time and loved everything about the dish. It's developed a local cult following for sporting events. We watched most of the World Cup 26 games out there and enjoyed slices and beers. Maybe I'll see you there. Pro tip here is to not sleep on the salads. They are made really well, with balanced flavors and textures. It's a perfect meal to get the lunch special which comes with a salad of your choice (I recommend the Creekside salad) and a slice of pizza. The main issue is if you are a pizza snob (guilty as charged), the bakes on the pizzas are really inconsistent. They often don't use a cooling rack when the pizzas come out, so the crust instantly becomes moist from trapped steam. When the kitchen is slammed, the pizzas are flop city, and sometimes a soupy mess. If they set up quality measures to get a nice crisp crust, they could keep up with their cross-town rivals in the plaza. For now they trail on pizza quality due to inconsistency. Because of all this, I think of Creekside as more of a bar than a specialty pizza place. I enjoy it for what it is, which is pretty darn good.
