Tonight I tried the vegan hot chicken sandwich and thier mac and cheese. It was outstanding. Sandwich had just enough heat, I do not think food should hurt but the heat was there. The sandwich was huge, I got 2 big peices of vegan chicken, one will be lunch tomorrow. Great mix of pickles and sauce on the sandwich. Mac and cheese was creamy and serving size was big, again some is still in the fridge. My partner got a cheese steak and the fall salad. He raved about the salad and the home made chips. We got beignets with a chocolate coffee sauce, which is enough sweets for us for a few days. My partner loved them and the sauce. read more

I had a great experience at Decades. As a vegan I appreciate that they have several options on the menu to accommodate me. The food exceeded my expectations. I had a question about one of the menu items and my server went back to the kitchen and spoke to the chef and came out with a response that showed me they understood dietary restrictions and took them seriously. Great space, great location, awesome concept, definitely a place that Lancaster needs. I love the beer selection and the bartenders are all top notch. Food is a letdown. Flatbread with chicken was soggy, chicken was tough and over cooked...flavors confusing. Refine and improve the menu/food and it's a 5/5. But then again, nobody goes to places like this for the food...so I guess it get a pass. read more

It's never easy opening a new restaurant. It's even harder when you have a bowling alley and video games too! Decades is making it happen. The beer list is great and they may have the best wine options available at a "bowling alley!" The menu isn't large but there are a ton of snacks. As Decades matures and comes into its own, I can only envision things getting better and better. I am excited for the next visit! Oh, it is also conveniently located right next to a parking garage, so don't worry if you aren't fond of parking in the city! Call ahead for reservations and to ask about their specials. I have been waiting for a spot like this to open up in Lancaster and Decades did not disappoint. We were a group of 13 and the staff was super accommodating. Even on St. Paddy's day, we were seated in 15-20 minutes. There are a few bars, an awesome arcade (Hoops, Skeeball, Pac-Man, pinball, etc!), 8 lanes of bowling and a full sit down restaurant. It's a huge space and was very thoughtfully done- we were impressed with how great it looked and how well the bowling area was sound proofed! My group seemed happy with their food overall. I split the wings with my husband (delicious) and had the crispy eggplant with cauliflower rice (pictured) which I enjoyed- there was definitely more cauliflower rice than eggplant, FYI. Also tried the dessert flight and cap'n crunch ice cream- so good! Our bill was reasonable and we had a blast in the arcade for a couple of bucks. this review is STRICTLY related to retro gaming. for purists and hardcore arcade enthusiasts, Decades misses the mark. respectfully, most of the cabs have been rebuilt with new decals, wood, and often the joystick section---all new. ok, so, not great (i.e. they didnt spend cash to source original parts, etc). but i couldnt stop being bothered by the poor monitor replacements and lack of attention to aspect ratio. many of their cabs clearly have a modern flat panel inside, and then even worse, the game images arent scaled correctly. will younger people or casuals notice? probably not. but for a true arcade nut....this is a "pass" for me. it feels like a step above a Mame cabinet destination, but not worth your time if you're into actual arcade preservation. i understand "why" they did it this way--but it feels like buying a classic car and then just wanting to drive it, not preserve the original look or feel. read more

Good food and daring menu, while I wasn't crazy about the entree selection initially I would definitely recommend trying each one to sample the unique flair that Decades have created. The shrimp and grits I had would definitely not have been my first choice but I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and presentation. The crab dip pretzel was excellent and it's awesome to see a restaurant get crap dip right for once. Using Gouda as a topping was an excellent idea and I'm slightly jealous that I never thought of it when making my own. The only food that seemed to be lacking was the desert. While the presentation was also excellent I wasn't crazy about the flavor of the banana pudding/seasonal fruit trifle or fluffernutter pie I'll definitely be trying something else the next time I return. The service was great, every staff member that we interacted with greeted us with a smile though it was obvious that they were absolutely exhausted from the weekend St. Patrick's Day customer traffic. The noise from the bowling lanes that are right next to the dining area is slightly obnoxious, perhaps with some acoustical sound absorption products this could be minimized. I'd love to be able to get away from the noise and relax after bowling or gaming. Where do I begin? The coolest spot. Parking is easy - garage right beside it. Social distancing was easy. Fun and outgoing server. Bartender made great drinks. Food was unbelievable. The waiter we had was young (not old enough to drink) so she didn't know much about the specialized drink menu -which was a bummer because they tasted horrible though they are very creative. Tried Decades in Lancaster tonight with some out of town clients. Their attempt at a nice restaurant was described by a fellow diner as an "identity crisis" trying to be something more than they are. An underage server? Serving alcohol? Self-admitted 17 years old was not knowledgeable about their specialty draft beer selection and often mixed up the order by number process providing the wrong beers to the table. When they attempt a wine list featuring just 6 choices with prices of $42, $48, $54, $70, $70 and $75 per bottle; you have to be able to have an excellent meal. 5-star level food. Jumbo Shrimp and grits were the choices for 5 out of 6 diners at my table. No one finished due to lack of desire nor felt it worth finishing. Amazing staff, management, food, and atmosphere. After a horrible experience at The Exchange- we ended up leaving due to being mistreated, Decades fit my party of 7 in on a whim. The manager brought us out free desert immediately upon arrival and gave us free tokens to play games. It was not their job to make up for the faults of another establishment but they wanted to ensure we had a better ending than the start to our night. We had a great time. Will be back for sure. Literally the coolest place you could go to in Lancaster with some friends! I highly recommend if you're looking to have a good time, good drinks, and good food. Prices extremely reasonable, as well. Been here twice already, will be back as often as I can! read more

That was fun. We came with the kids, and that usually means we didn't eat great food. But they did a really good job. We shared the wings, burrata and fried green tomatoes and all were good. The kids menu is really limited but the mac and cheese and grilled cheese were so much better than most kids menu items and the fries are great. The vintage games were fun and brought us back. It was cool to play TMNT as a family together. There is 80s music playing, you hear bowling, very unique experience. Good job creating something unique in a competitive restaurant marketplace. Unfortunately our first experience was a bad and almost non existent one. Walked in and asked for a table to eat dinner. The host told us the dining room was overly busy but we could sit at a high top for "the same service & same menu". We found a high top table and sat with no greet and no menus for about 10 minutes. We were in clear view of the bar and multiple employees who were chatting/not with guests. I finally went up to the bar and asked for waters and menus. The bartender gave me neither and said a server should be "right with me". After another 10 minutes - about to walk out - a server "greeted" us by saying, "hey, are you guys getting food and drinks?" We said yes. She asked us what we wanted - we gestured to our empty table after not being greeted and given zero information/menus even after asking an employee for help, and said menus would be nice? At this point we decided if we were going to go out and spend money on dinner it wasn't going to be somewhere with zero greeting and zero service and decided to leave. It's a pity - we were very excited to visit but left annoyed and disappointed. All thumbs down. read more

We went to check out Decades last night and it didn't disappoint. The burger and wings were good, along with a great beer list. We waited a little bit until we could bowl, but waiting is not an issue when there is food, beer, old school video games and a huge bar to keep you busy. The bowling was a good time, the people at every lane were clearly enjoying themselves regardless of how bad a bowler they may have been. The service staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Our waitress had everything ready to go including bringing the bowling shoes up to alley. At the end of the night she had already had our broken up into the different families. I also ran into a couple of the owners, really great guys who definitely have some good happening at Decades. We will be back again!!! read more
