I would have given this the max if it had not been for the waitress. First I had not even looked at the menu and she wanted my order. Told her I haven't had a chance to look at it. Well then she never came back, I had to go find her. And I have to use a cane to walk. Anyway she takes my order. I had oatmeal and a veggie omlette, with sourdough toast. The oatmeal was awesome. Now my diet coke and water glass are empty. She brings my veggie omlette and both glasses are empty. Then she finally says from across the dining room table I see you need more diet coke. Anyway she was friendly enough, but she had to many people to wait on I think. So I paid the bill I tipped %15 as usual for me. Although I was seriously thinking I would not. Then I get home I look at my bill and i remember I NEVER DID get my sourdough toast. I will go back though why? GREAT FOOD and usually GREAT WAITRESS'S. Debby's Downer! We took my dad here for Father's Day. We were seated and served quickly but then our server never came back to ask how our food was. My sister had a giant egg shell in her food. Like half a shell. The waitress gave us our check but then never came back to collect it even though other tables were paying at their table. This confused us for a minute but I guess for the waitress we had she doesn't pick up the check she requires you to go to the counter to pay if you're in her section. Annoying when other patrons don't have to pay like this but ok I guess we got the second class citizen treatment. I go up to pay and the fat fuzzy haired blonde lady taking my money and eating lasked how everything was and when I went to tell her about the shell and never seeing a waitress she told me we should have addressed it directly with our waitress (who we saw twice!) I wonder why she asked for feedback then if she wasn't looking to improve at all. I wasn't accusing I was simply answering her unsolicited question and she didn't like the answer. Ordered a paddy melt and couldn't even get to it. The fries were so dry and salty I chugged my soda to compensate. But I barely finished my fries before I started feeling sick, what ever oils they used for frying hit me like a bull horn to the gut. I missed work due to how sick it made me and the symptoms continued on to the next morning. My girlfriend faired a bit better but couldn't finish her food. Maybe it was a bad batch of fries but 25$ for food poisoning means I wont risk a second visit. read more

OMG I am in hamburger heaven. This place is so fun and the food is so good. I very rarely order a hamburger when I'm dining out because I can make one at home that beats most I've tried. Debby's Diner has me beat by a landslide. I ordered the Ortega burger and it was fantastic, although my guess is that any burger ordered from Debby's would be outstanding. They know how to cook it just right, and the toppings and bun are perfect. My husband had the hot pastrami sandwich, which he devoured in no-time flat. Our waitress was super friendly, and the whole place had this Betty Boop retro vibe my husband and I really enjoyed. We look forward to going back the next time we are going through Medford. read more

We had a great lunch. Burgers to die for. But the best of all was the milkshakes. Our server Hannah makes them the best. So thick and yummy. (She got a big tip for those. Lol!) Cute, clean atmosphere. Old fashioned diner style is so fun! I was glad to see nothing had changed with the transition of the new owners. The staff is still incredible, as is the food! We stopped by here after a car show today and I'm so happy we did! Service was great and we got seated immediately and checked on regularly throughout even though they were steadily busy! I had the Nutella and Banana Stuffed French Toast and it was like a bite of Heaven! Will definitely be coming here again since we are local.......can't wait to try more of the menu! read more

Nostalgic '50s dinner decor, tweaked with a Betty Boop theme. Our waitress was frighteningly cheerful, doing a jazz hands "yay" after she set down our food. What? Well, it did make me laugh! The food is pretty typical, but it's always quick to the table and well-prepared. I asked for crispy hash browns, and they were perfect. Quantities are large and prices fairly cheap. Old times music is playing overhead and, for those of a certain age, it's a pleasant walk down memory lane. It's a local favorite for a reason. read more

Normally I love this place but last time I went they gave me a sandwich that just fell apart when I tried to take a bite, greasy soggy fries and nachos that were also soggy which wasn't the chefs fault because I saw my nachos sit under their heating tray for about ten minutes before it got to us. Every other experience has been good but this ruined it for me. read more

Absolutely the best restaurant all around that I have been to in a very long time. The atmosphere was very fun and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The whole environment was very clean. And most importantly the food was very very delicious. I have no complaints or improvements for this place. Terrible service and food, waited 30 minutes for eggs Benedict and when it arrived it had virtually no Hollandaise sauce and egg was hard boiled with no juice, totally dry meal. What kind of diner cooks cant make a poached egg? Waitress saw it said it was unacceptable and she would tell the manager but never came back. Rainy morning. Diner filling quickly. One server. What the? In spite of being at least two people short, breakfast came out quickly, hot, and coffee was refilled in a reasonable time. But.... it is difficult to patronize a restaurant that doesn't respect its workers. Gosh, what a treat eating in a place where all the employees are always smiling and enjoying what they do. I dislike eating out at most places as the employees walk around going about their business with a sour look on their faces....until they walk up to your table, then instant smile, turn around and back to the sour look...yuk! I find it's much more enjoyable to dine where the folks are happy and Debbies is a very cheerful place. The service is superb, their food is always fresh and yummy, the Cooks are awesome, even when swamped.... the food leaves the kitchen in a timely manner.
