Unfortunately we went on one of the hottest days all year but it didn't help that their AC was poor and compound that with the owner, workers and their families took up the 3 tables all around the only cool spot in the place - right in front of the AC blower. I can't say the food was hood or bad - just not memorable. There was an enchilada casserole with green beans and English peas that was very odd. We might go back in better weather, but hope the food is better. read more

Really like the food at Debbies... The coffee was pretty weak the last time we went. I don't remember that being the case the previous times that we've eaten here, but it was almost undrinkable with a strong Glen Rose water flavor to it. read more

Dirty, staff was not friendly, atmosphere was not good. Pancakes were undercooked and burrito had a hair in it. Not recommended. I'm all about home cooking and small town diners but this was not clean and smelled like cigarette smoke. read more

Well for a little hole in the wall cafe, wow...wow....wow!!! The food was and service was extremely attentive. I will say this. Be prepared to wait a little longer than usual. They make their food out of scratch, but well worth it. The only negative is that they were having to battle the pesky flies. Which is always a loosing battle. He flies must know that the food is awesome too. So remember, try a little bit of everything in order to know what you'll love in the future. read more

This was very disappointing dining experience. The coffee was rancid, there was liquid "butter" for the biscuits and pancakes, and the honey was made with corn syrup. I get that it's a small town diner, but not worth the stop on your way through town. Nothing remarkable, and no one was wearing masks, including wait staff and cooks. I found this hidden gem on a sales trip through the area. This is down-home, southern cooking at its best. The food is delicious and tastes like it came fresh from Grandma's kitchen. The prices will make you wonder how they stay in business. Everything here is farm-to-table - no frozen or pre-processed stuff. Pork chops, stuffed bell peppers, chicken and rice, mashed potatoes & gravy, fresh green beans, cornbread, and much more...all made from scratch. I could see the cooks peeling potatoes for the hash browns and mashed potatoes, and cutting fresh fruit for the salad bar while I ate. Debbies is a small town, home owned and family ran business. It's been in business 31 years. It has a great breakfast. They have a very reasonable large breakfast buffet on weekends. Breakfast bar also includes a nice assortment of fresh fruit. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It opens up at 5am for the early birds like me. Simply the worst. As in the worst place I have ever eaten in my life. The cheeseburger was easily the worst I have had in as long as I can remember. Place was not especially clean looking. I am baffled on how this place has 4 and a half stars. We came in at 10:30 for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday. We walked over and there were remnants of dried egg on the pan, burnt hash browns, no biscuits and dried up cinnamon rolls. We waited there for 5 mins for them to put some new food out and never did until a few more tables came in and ordered the buffet. When we asked them for biscuits, the girl in the back grabbed some cold biscuits with her bare hands. No gloves. I'm sure there are better places to eat at in Glen Rose. read more
