The service was friendly, but not the fastest in the world. We had a brisket sandwich with onion rings ($14.95) - the quantity and taste were great, but the food was just lukewarm. Their wood-fired pizza is very tasty. It's a thin crust, so I love that! Pints of most craft beer is $5.00, so that's a bargain. There's a 2.9% admin fee on your check when you get it. When I asked what it was, they said it was for using a credit card. They didn't know I was using a credit card when they brought the check to me, so pay attention to it if you are paying with cash. This is a cute little place on the river, right off of the Square in Glen Rose Texas. I have met the owner, she is amazing, we had a conversation with her one night while we were listening to live music. They have an outdoor stage that is just perfect and they always seem to bring really high-quality bands to the area. That is when we will come in, it's not a restaurant, but it does serve food. When we went in the past it was a barbecue truck for food, now I believe it's a brick pizza oven that I've heard is great. She employs a lot of locals, and they are kind service oriented individuals. We sat outside and our kids loved being able to roam around without disrupting anyone. The service however, was incredibly slow and not great. It took forever between drink refills. Half of the adults probably would've ordered more alcohol, but it just took too long between drinks. We ordered jalapeño poppers as an appetizer and they came out still half frozen. The service was great. We got queso and nachos. Queso was flat out awful. We got salsa and nachos the salsa had a strange burnt smoke flavor to it. I got a sample of their meats. First was cheese and jalapeño sausage. I hate to say this but it was literally the worst sausage I've ever eaten in my life. Pulled pork and the brisket were average but the barbecue sauce tasted weird. The sides I got were the Mexican corn which was really salty and the beans were bland. This was our second time here coming in from out of town for a weekend trip to see fossil rim, dinosaur world, and big park. You can't beat the live music, room to run around for the kids, and river view. Their staff is great and whoever is working the smoker is fantastic . The cigarette smoke that blows anywhere and everywhere on the patio makes it less kid-friendly but it's never been so overwhelming that it ruined our good times and we're pretty sensitive. This place is perfect if you are camping or doing outdoor activities near Glen Rose. Come as you are; we were hot and sweaty from being on the river all day, and felt welcome here. We will be revisiting! We ordered the Cabrito (goat) platter and cabrito burrito. Both were delicious!! The goat was the best thing on the plate- delicious, tender, perfect amount of salt and pepper! Comparable to a juicy brisket but great goat/lamb type flavor. The burrito came with a flavorful slightly spicy green sauce over the top, with fresh cilantro and cheese. Both entrees were excellent. Loved the happy hour specials and the ambiance. Peaceful river front property, corn hole, axe throwing, outdoor fire pit. Indoor and outdoor seating. This is a great place to come hang out, eat, and play. Family friendly, but also a neat hangout for singles too. Stopped by there today around 11:30 on our way out of town. Service was ok, but there were several times we had to wait for drinks and to go boxes. We didn't realize that the food was actually from a food truck focusing on BBQ. Half of the menu wasn't available when we were there. If you are going there for drinks and bar food, then it's probably good, but we were there for lunch without drinks. Nice open area outside by the river and they allow dogs, so that was a plus, but probably won't return. read more
