We have been here several times and I decided to write a review. First of all, Scott is awesome! He makes fabulous drinks, gives great service and has a fun and enjoyable personality. The food is very good. I would recommend the fish and chips and any of the delicious burgers. The atmosphere is great with a view of the river and a cute area to sit outside as well. We drive down from Fort Worth quite often just to have lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed. read more

The location and ambience were really nice. Watching the river roll by on a sunny fall afternoon was peaceful. The service was great and I am pretty sure the owners were the ones working there and it showed.We were there for late lunch around 1:15 so it was not crowded. The food was good and so were the portions. The fish and chips were not greasy and the cooking oil was fresh as it did not leave a bad taste on the food. I had the small chicken on greens salad with no croutons and asked them to toss the chicken in buffalo sauce which they gladly did. Glad we found this gem as we will be back. read more

This restaurant impressed beyond our wildest imagination. We started with the falafel and everyone ate it even the baby. We moved to entree and this burger did NOT disappoint. The blackberries were so fresh and the goat cheese complimented perfectly - with the bacon added it was off the charts. The French fries were perfection as well. We had the added benefit of walking down to the water between food deliveries to feed the ducks. This is such a nice spot right on the river. It is set back from the road, behind the inn. Easy parking. Good appetizer and drink selection. The Taste of Summer Burger was really good, with cream cheese, blackberry compote, jalapeños, bacon... yum! There is a very nice covered porch with 4 tables overlooking the river. My entire family eats here often. The chef goes out of her way to accommodate our picky eaters. The menu is always being updated and added to with new dishes. We constantly are surprised by the amazing taste and creativity. The ingredients are always fresh and they will substitute vegan options if you prefer. The seating area is small but intimate for a small group of friends or date nights. There are outside seats along the river with a beautiful view. The staff is alway attentive and friendly. They go above and beyond to make your meal a pleasant experience. If you have a large group you should call ahead so they can make room if it is available. Do not assume they will have room for a large crowd. The bar is well stocked and they have wine and beer options. Scott took great care of us while we stayed at the adjacent Inn on the River. Synder's Tavern is the ideal hangout and we watched MNFootball with a great group. Hidden Gem. Right behind the Inn. We had the chicken club, hummus, artichoke Parmesan chicken and waffles. We sat outside and it was all delicious! Great spot for a meal with beautiful views of the river. Located behind the Inn in downtown, it's a great option for lunch or dinner. The food was good, but their menu is limited. Their food is all made to order, so the wait time is a little longer. We enjoyed our meal here relaxing and taking in the view. What a small and perfect hidden gem! It's quaint and homey, nestled in on the banks of the Paluxy River. It's a little hard to find as it's actually behind a building and you can't really see it from the street. The staff and servers were friendly and very helpful with the menu and food choices. Great service from Scott and staff (unfortunately didn't caught the names of the two young waitresses that helped us, but they were amazing!) This establishment is super dog friendly, staff brought our pets a water bowl and gave them treats(they did ask permission beforehand)! , has an outside patio (shaded with fans) for pet parents! :) prices are extremely cheap for the riverside seating you receive and the fantastic food (personally had the ultimate burger with goat cheese, jalapeños, avocado, and typical burger toppings with sweet potato fries), they had an excellent beer selection as well! (i had 3 different beers that were all recommendations from Scott), the establishment is a bit difficult to see from the street but does have private parking if you pull into a small driveway beside the Inn! :) we were able to bring our pups right down to the river for a swim, they also have trees that keep the grass area shaded, you're able to have a nice relaxing sit by the river and not get brunt by the sun! We will definitely recommend and return anytime we're in the area! :)) read more

The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is perfectly intimate and casual....sits by the river.

I am visiting Glen Rose for a weekend and decided to try this restaurant. The staff was friendly however the seating area is in an entirely different building than the kitchen and the restaurant is not prepared for any sort of crowd. The food when I got it (I got the ribeye) was cold. The veggies were crunchy and the steak (although ordered rare) was too thin to have been made in the way I ordered especially considering that it had to travel outside to get to the seating area. I would not recommend selecting this restaurant if in the area. read more
