Ever since they opened I go there to eat every month. If someone is around I take them but usually I'm by myself. I love their lasagne. Their salad is the best, their soup is really good too. But the lasagne! So good! I went last week. Whoa! What happened? I had to LOOK for the meat and there was two grain of rice size grey pieces. I couldn't find any ricotta. I ate half. I went to the store on my way home. I got Stouffer's and Rao's lasagne. 3.49$ each on sale. Over a week I tried them. Each of them was better than Farina's. The Rao's had a lot of meat and ricotta. Very disappointed. Went for a Friday date night. Our waitress was horribly slow. It was 5:30 pm not too busy but she could not manage time well. The shrimp scampi was cold. Flat pizza so-so. Requested more garlic bread that never arrived. Spoke to the MOD who seemed dazed and confused. I do appreciate the meal being comp'ed. No plans to ever return. This restaurant is in adorable downtown Granbury. They have a charcuterie on the appetizers that is really good as well as many other options. The wine and bar menu has lots to Choose from and the bartender is helpful if you want something made that's off menu. They have inside and outside seating although i prefer inside. It's a great place to stop in and have wine if you are shopping Or visiting downtown. read more

Was in area and stopped by here for lunch during weekday so It wasn't busy . The place is really nice vintage look. Service was fantastic no complaints. The food was a little bland misding something in everything we ordered but it was ok and edible . We had cheese bread salad .. the steak steak sandwich was really good with side of pasta salad that was heavily covered in park cheese but I like It .. the lasagna was just ok as well a bit watery . Beautiful old building with an old, deep rich historic vibe. Chose to stop on way home from airport. Sat in their open air patio on a weekday evening. (Was painfully bitten by mosquitoes while there; be warned.). They have a beautiful fireplace. That said, the waitress was spread between in and outside so it was impossible for her to provide excellent service to anyone. Shame on ownership! The wine was just ok. read more

So disappointing. I've been here a dozen times. Last year came and got the white fish and it was delicious. The last two times I've been there it's been not nearly as good and they've increased the price by $10 a plate. Today was horrible. Brought a friend in from out of state. To start off the coffee was cold. We asked them to heat it, and it still came back tepid. Then the soup came and it was cold. We asked them to heat it. It came back. It was tepid. Had the baked fish and it was very very marginal. Asked for Alfredo sauce hoping that would make it taste better. It came back 15 minutes later and didn't help much at all with the last few bites. Arrived for our 6:00 reservation and got seated in the bar area. After sitting for more than 5 minutes, noticed the bar tender was also the waitress for the 4 tables in the bar area. Took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and order dinner. After 20 minutes, we got our salads but no dressing for one of the salads. Very hard to flag down the busy waitress to request dressing, and had to go to the bar to request salt and pepper. The entrees come in 2 sizes, full and half. Half must be a bite because full barely filled up our 11-y-o toothpick granddaughter. The food deliverer hunted for 3 minutes to find the single crushed red pepper shaker. Disappointing. My husband and I came here one night when we were in town. We've been to the Grapevine location several times and really enjoyed it. Our server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu or drinks. No worries; maybe she was new. I had a salad and sausage and potato soup. I've had the soup at the other location and it was great. This location...no. It was watery, no sausage and huge chunks of potato. My husband's burger was burned. Our server took our order, someone else brought our food and no one ever checked back on us. We wanted another round of drinks but our server didn't come back until we'd been finished with stacked places for about 15 minutes. Let me add there was only one other table in the whole restaurant, and one person at the bar. We'll stick to the Grapevine location, cuz this place was sad. read more

Not a review of their main fare. Boss Lady and I had eaten lunch elsewhere but came in for dessert because of some other reviewers. The joint was mostly empty, so we were seated quickly. We let them know our intentions and were cool with it. She ordered the creme brule with a latte and I the tiramisu and a glass of wine. We couldn't believe that they didn't know how to make a latte. We returned to try Farina's and give them another chance after such a dismal previous experience; and this was a welcome change. We were quickly seated and our server, Jewel, was attentive and nice all evening. We were eating around five pm, so it wasn't crowded or noisy. We had the hummus appetizer, which was quite tasty, and I had the filet and my wife had the salmon. Both came with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. The potatoes were just okay, but the vegetables were very good. My steak was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The salmon was also good. Dessert was crème brûlée and was excellent. We liked it. We stopped at Farina's for the first time tonight, after a concert at the New Granbury Live theater. It was a Saturday night and they were busy but we had a reservation and we're seated right away. Our server was Dana. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. That said, she had a very large number of tables to take care of. Not her fault but I'm sure it was do to the current labor shortage. Dana did her best and we're happy for that. Shortly after we placed our drink orders, a basket of toasted garlic bread was brought out. Yummy :) Two of us ordered salads with our meals and two of us had soups. I had the Sausage Potato soup and it was really tasty. My wife had the Tomato soup - also tasty. Our friends both had salads. They had the house Italian dressing, which I tried. Oh man - it was really tasty. For as busy as they place was, the entrees came out surprisingly fast. We were just finishing our salads and soups. Two of us ordered the Lasagna at Dana's suggestion. One of us ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and one of us ordered the Italian Pad Thai w/ Shrimp. My wife had the Italian Pad Thai. She enjoyed the dish but felt it had too many sun-dried tomatoes in it. No problem - I took them and added them to my Lasagna :). Both of us that had the Lasagna, found them to be cold in the center. Dana took them back for a reheating and they came back hot. We both enjoyed it. Our friend who had the Spaghetti and Meatballs felt it was bland tasting. She added salt, pepper and parmesan cheese and felt it was better but not amazing. The four of us shared the Italian Cream Cake. It was sort of doughnut or mini-bundt shaped. It was pretty tasty. All in all, we had a nice time at Farina's and we'll try them again down the road. read more

Farina's is always a great choice. I've frequented their Granbury, TX location this year and I've been impressed with everything. They have a good wine selection, a bartender that's the life of the party and the Italian food is exceptional. They have a mushroom ravioli that's hard not to order each time I visit. The house salad is fantastic and the olives put it over the top. They also have a nice outdoor seating area that I'll surely enjoy as the weather cools off. I've enjoyed their live music, which is typically 1-2 musicians playing in the bar area. The owner frequents the restaurant and is great with customers. Try the margarita! read more

Have done take-out from this place for YEARS now but they have changed their menu (w/o changing it on-line) & today, I ordered a full order of chicken alfredo, something I've ordered LITERALLY once a week for 3 years. Today, the cost was $6 higher (they no longer have a lunch menu tho that's not on the website) and I get back to my office to find it's a HALF ORDER. I talked to the manager who insisted it was a full order. I had taken a pix of it, offered to send it to her, she refused. Said we'll remake the order for you. That's too little to late. I asked that next week, when I ordered a full order, they charge me for a half-order size to make it right. Nope, not going to do that. The manager hung up after essentially claiming I was trying to get "free food" from them. My law firm spends on average of $40 a week at this place. So disappointed. Maybe new management? Don't know. But be careful if you do take out. You won't necessarily get what you order.... And they don't care or listen to your complaints. So sad... read more

A friend and I went to have dinner. To our surprise, we arrived to a packed house (and a packed town). The town was celebrating Founder's Day and St. Patrick's Day. But they sat us fairly quickly without a reservation. Yasmine was our server. She was GREAT! The atmosphere was superb with the guitar player singing in the background. What a wonderful night. Farina's is a popular restaurant on the Granbury Square for both locals and tourists. They have a large bar with seating in the front, a large dining room in the back and live music. The staff is friendly and the ladies behind the bar more quickly to get drinks for the dining room as well as the bar. Everything on the menu looked really good so we started with French bread, with marinara sauce, and the (3) meatball appetizer, for four people. It was a nice snack before the salads and entrees. The salads were fresh, with a lot of vegetables, and the portion size was enough for an entrée. We then had a flat bread pizza, pasta w/ pesto and baked white fish. All were excellent. The food comes out super hot and perfectly timed with the meal. As for the drinks, they have a broad selection of beers, wine and cocktails. We had St Arnold's beer and the Crusher wine. Over all, it was a great experience. All in, the bill was around $200 for four people, which is very reasonable for the food, drinks, (lots of drinks) atmosphere, and service. Hanging at the ranch in Walnut Springs, my bro in law, Big Pete, wanted to get out and about. We headed to Granbury, which was bustling with folks and traffic. Apparently, it was a spring fare of some sort. Parking was at a premium, but as the lunch Gods were looking out for us, we scored a spot just outside of the little Cafe. I really liked the feel of the place once we walked in. It had nothing to do with the fact that it used to be a brothel. High ceilings and a long wood bar was a comforting site as we pulled up some chairs. As usual Big Pete knew the folks inside and began to start a yarn about cauliflower pizza dough. What.. we are in Granbury.. this ain't Austin mate. But, true to form they did have cauliflower dough pie, which we choose to share, but only if we added Pepperoni and Snarsage to the toppings. I also choose a side Greek salad to the mix. They had a large jar container which looked like antifreeze, but it actually was some left over St. Paddy's day cocktail thing. I declined and grabbed me a beer, very cold one I might add. Pizza and Salad arrived and all quite tasty. Crispy pizza dough, nice amount of toppings and the salad was fresh, crispy with a tasty dressing blended in. Service was country friendly. The bartendress was helpful with selections and generous on the banter. A local pulled up next to us and visited as well. It was all a very warm and enjoyable quickie lunch as we made away out to enjoy the festivities. I was pleasantly surprised with the menu selections. read more

Very interesting experience. I absolutely loved the location/atmosphere and the staff were all super friendly/attentive. I ordered the "margherita" pizza. From an Italian restaurant, I was expecting marinara, fresh mozzarella and basil, finished with a drizzle of olive oil. What was served was very average. There were way too many tomato slices and shredded cheese that the pizza became soggy. It was extremely disappointing bc I was expecting fresh ingredients. read more

Stopped in here for a late lunch with some friends while visiting Granbury, Texas. It was all delicious and the staff was very friendly. Our table started out with some crusty garlic bread, complimentary. Then our entrees: baked chicken alfredo, baked lasagne, olive oil pizza, and pick three lunch special with salad, grilled chicken, and tomato basil soup. Everyone enjoyed their choice of lunch, but I'll speak to mine. The grilled chicken was tender and flavorful and the salad was fresh and crisp with mixed olives, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese over mixed greens. When my meal came out, my soup was lukewarm. I asked my server if she could warm it in the microwave, but she insisted on bringing out a new bowl. That one was hot and full of tomato and basil flavors.
