She stated that the band would be playing for another 1.5 hours so we had to pay. Absolutely ridiculous and unethical. I think she just wanted to make money off of our group of 10 people in our 30's. Was there a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday and I had not been there in over a year but my last time was a good time. As I arrived at the front door there were 2 guys in line with "untucked" shirts. I saw a little sign in front of them that had a picture of a snub nosed handgun. Apparently, they have a new rule where if you have an untucked shirt you must lift it up and turn around in a circle so they can see you are not carrying a firearm. VERY FAIR AND I GET IT. I'm actually all for the safety of everyone. Well...the 2 guys ahead of me walked right in and pass the doorman after showing their ID. But when I got to him a manager walks up to the doorman and informs him "It's important that you search everyone who comes in". Ok.... so he makes me do the shirt lift and turn and once convinced I had no gun he let me go in.... but I was curious. So I stand there and watched my other 2 "untucked" shirt friend come in, show their ID and walk right in without being searched. From behind them, 2 more "untucked" shirt people walked in after showing their ID's....no search. I felt really embarrassed and humiliated and my friends were in a bit of a shock as well. Because the only difference between me and the 6 people who did not get checked for firearms was my dark skin tone. But it's not all negative. The music was great and the bar staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. I would love to come back but after the incident to get in to this place....I think it's better if I didn't.

What really stood out was the outstanding service. It's rare for me to walk into a place and see so many beers I haven't tried before. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer. He offered several recommendations and even poured a few samples to help me decide. It's always refreshing to meet someone who genuinely enjoys talking about great beer and knows the selection inside and out.
