Cody helped me figure out some combinations to try. I bought a few bags of coffee and immediately had to have some as soon as I arrived home. I have a blend of 50% hazelnut and 50% chocolate and it's heavenly--it's my favorite coffee of all time! I also have a bag of half coconut and half caramel and wow! As you can tell, I like some sweetness and these blends were just my style. My mom is a serious coffee drinker and they recommended 80% French roast and 20% super dark roast. My mom loved it!!! They definitely have something for everyone and can match you with your perfect coffee blend. I bought several treats with nuts in it, like pistachios, and some chocolates too. Everything was delicious! There are opportunities to sample things throughout the store too. There are so many treats and products to choose from, and it's organized beautifully. After a food crawl of sorts, we were looking to wind down the evening here, but evidently this place keeps the party going, late night. A spacious spot, with plenty of seating for both small and large groups, this is definitely spot where you can come kick it and hang for a minute. The drink menu was pretty expansive, with different types of coffee, teas and juices. They also had a variety of desserts to choose from. My friend and were immediately drawn to the smoothie and juice section. So many combinations to check out. I ended up going with the Diwan Smoothie (their most popular smoothie), and my friend got something similar that also added in some bananas. We sat down, and about 5 minutes later we got our smoothies. Both of our smoothies were refreshing and tasty. It's funny, 16 oz smoothie was $8. For a dollar more, you could get a 24 oz one. Going with the pot of tea was a great idea because it gave us more of the ambiance that I was going after. I think a to go cup would not have done that. It was the perfect amount of tea and I'm happy they had Splenda as an option for sweetener. The tea cup set was cute, too. The man with the glasses at the front was very helpful and told us the prices of the desserts, but ultimately, we decided to skip out on them. It would be helpful to have prices on the display case, because we wouldn't have to keep asking if they had them there. Another small constructive criticism would be to make sure that the bathroom is stocked with toilet paper-- the bathroom had none. It wasn't super busy but it appeared to be frequently by lots of regulars who had the menu memorized. About half of the orders were pick ups and the rest were people who decided to stay in the café and enjoy the music. I'm definitely returning to this one! Places like Starbucks, Biggby and Tim Hortons pale in comparison to these new breed of Yemeni coffee shops popping up everywhere. I guess they deserve it since coffee was basically invented in Yemen and then shared with the world.
