This is a wonderful small business. They are kind, compassionate and accommodating to everyone who walks in their door. They have even waited after closing time because I was running late. I would like to address K.D. and Chad who left poor reviews, for those that do not know them, they are married and actively attacking this business. They also claim to be Christian's in the other reviews they have left. If you're going to claim to be a Christian, act like one, that way you don't have to tell us what your faith is because based on your actions, those of us who don't know you would never associate you with a faith. Additionally, you're attacking a small business for selling a specialty product that you requested to another customer when you never pre-paid for it and were late picking it up due to circumstances. Amazing coffee and even better customer service! As a owner of a small business myself the owners of this company set the bar high when it comes to professionalism, reliability, customer service and just flat our making you feel like home. Today I walked in and just hinted at the fact I wasn't a fan of one of their brews and they made it a point to make sure I was satisfied with what I was taking home with me today. I'm not calling the previous reviewers liars by any means but I find it extremely hard to believe that this family that runs this business has a sense of any bad business in their bones. Outstanding Coffee, Outstanding Service! I sent a bag of PNG coffee to my Daughter in Washington and she keeps hounding me to send her more. For her Birthday (10/8) I sent her another bag. She called home to say thank you for the coffee, no words on the clothes and other items we sent to her that day, just thank you for the coffee. Family or Friends stop over I make them a cup without saying a word. After their first sip, eyes grow large as they ask, "Where did you get this coffee from". I tell them and they look shocked, that's crazy its over an hour and a half drive one way for you? I tell them YEP it is. They replied back, "yeah it shore is worth it" Never met anyone that gives a more friendly/helpful/HUMBLE service than the owners of this establishment! I'm Hooked! This is my favorite coffee go to!!! I absolutely love this place and just started grinding my coffee beans this year with a grinder gift I received. Best beans hands Down!!!! My favorite for Dark is Sumatra and Columbia but also love the Medium Roast of Tanzania and The Great Lakes. Always warm smiles and warm greetings when i enter by all who work there. Never had a bad experience!! My brother-in-law in Oregon absolutely loves Dark Roast and I decided to send a bag of ground Sumatra with my sister for him. They even made sure it was packaged perfectly for her travels. The smell in that place is Heavenly and I could spend all day there!!!! I've never had a bad experience and I purchase from this company regularly. I've even requested custom orders in large quantities. Being that this is a smaller establishment, if you request something specific you need to understand that they only produce enough to sell on a daily basis as they roast every single day for freshness. Some days are busier than others so pre-paying for a specific order is the only way to ensure you'll get your product. I've seen a review on here about someone wanting something specific and not getting it because someone bought the coffee first, that's truly an unfair statement for a very small business if you did not pre-pay for your order. read more

This place has the BEST coffee! We use to mail order k-cups monthly to our house and since we found Hooked on a Bean, we stopped and only get coffee from them now! The owners are so accommodating, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel like a valued customer. I have requested bags from them on FB and I have NEVER had an issue with my bags being given away or not ready (we have ordered every two weeks since spring). I've been telling all my friends about this Flat Rock gem! Excellent coffee! They roast coffee beans from various coffee producing countries and the packages they sell bear the names of those countries. We are especially fond of the Tanzania and the Papua New Guinea. They also make some blends that are great too. Steelhead and Viper are in our pantry currently. The customer service is the best. Everytime I've gone in to their store they've been friendly and attentive. They're busy roasting most days but always make a point to chat with me and take care of any questions I have about the coffees they offer. Stop in to buy a bag and a fresh cup. My wife and I LOVE Hooked on a Bean -- and try to stop in almost every weekend. They roast the beans fresh each week (Guatemala is our fave) and make a KILLER cold brew. I ran out of coffee beans and I found Hooked on a Bean! The owners were super sweet and helpful. They took the time out of their day to walk me through each of the different coffee they offer and what flavors they had. I tried the cold brew and it was so smooth and delicious. I message in my order during the week to be set aside for pickup during business hours. I even get reminder messages if I forget to get my beans (happened more than once). Absolutely amazing experience. every time! Not only is the coffee warming and welcoming but so are the owners. These guys know roasting!every time I go in I seem to learn something new. The cold brews are ridiculously fire especially the Northern brook. Literally lol. And mostly I am an avid fisherman and they know we always use that lot to fish the hole there on the Huron. I went in for the first time yesterday to get whole beans and they were SUPER helpful and kind! There was a wide selection of different roasts and even offered to grind them for me. The packaging is so cute too and seemingly sustainable (which is great!). Of course the coffee is absolutely delicious as well and very fairly priced.
