I received a box of assorted candies as part of my Yelp Elite status. A true foodie and I also love middle eastern culture, this was an amazing opportunity. The box arrived on time and I reviewed the tasting video after the event because it's finals week. The items are all amazing. I enjoyed the piece with the cinnamon and walnut mixture. The Jordan Almonds we're great and my husband adored the chocolate candied orange slice. Thank you for all that you do to bring these amazing flavors to the Midwest!

Pistachio cream chocolate - my favorite!

Hashem's is truly a treasure and I hope more people will discover it. Service is always friendly and exceptional. They always offer samples, and are smart to do so because you WILL be back for more. If you love gourmet chocolate, you absolutely must try their imported chocolates. They're right up there with the best gourmet chocolates - forget Godiva, go for Hashem's. They're cheaper and more delicious. You know how when you receive a box of chocolates and you start eating them but you really only like a couple flavors in the box? Not so with Hashem's. I've tried a dozen or so different ones so far and have loved almost all of them - and I am fairly picky about chocolate - no novelty chocolate for me. My absolute favorite are the pistachio cream squares with the gold wrapper. If you're looking for a great gift, buy a pretty box somewhere, then fill it with an assortment of these wonderful chocolates. They're $19.99/lb but seem to average out to about a dollar each (some less, some more) in my experience. Well worth it and a bargain compared to the $3-4/chocolate that gourmet chocolate makers charge. A couple visits ago, I received samples of both the mulberry Turkish delight and rose halawa. I don't normally care for Turkish delight much, but that one was flavorful and delicious. The halawa is a sweet with an interesting flaky texture that melts in your mouth. It was so interesting (in a very good way!) that I had to go back for more and try other flavors (pistachio and chocolate) - all were great but I think I liked the rose best so far (and I don't normally like rose flavor!). Next, I think I'll try coffee. The nuts are great too. I've tried a couple of the pistachio varieties. All in all, Hashem's is a very unique little store and a true treasure of the community.

What a hidden gem! I was a kid in a candy store at this place. When visiting Michigan, the middle eastern coffee is a must and I won't get it from anywhere, but here. The quality of hashems Arabic coffee is unbeatable. I am a coffee snob and this place has the real deal. Huge shoutout to Jamal for giving me his recommendations on what blends to get. I've tried all of his recommendations and they've all been amazing. Not only do they sell coffee here, but tea blends, any kind of oil you could possible think of, specialty candy and even tea kettles. If you wanna impress your middle eastern in laws, buy something from here!

I went because I saw this listed on the Yelp Elite site. I didn't make it on the day of the event, but I am so glad I found this place. I drove 30 minutes but it was worth the drive. First it was the cleanest bulk store I've EVER seen! The assortment of 10'a of flavored nuts, cashews, pistachios, almonds were fantastic. Who has so many flavors of nits. Salt, barbecue, saffron, spicy, so many I can't remember. Look at my pictures and see the labels. The candy, OMG, my friend said it was the perfect place for different color wrapping of candy, dates with nuts, etc. The place smelled like coffee, and candy which is a winner for most people. The people who worked there were incredibly helpful and warm. I love it! Go for a new place to buy coffee! I got some coconut and Carmel coffee, mixed. But they have Michigan Cherry and lots of Turkish coffee, they mix on site. They are Coffee Consultant. Go for a new place to buy nuts. The candy, you and your kids will love. What a hidden gem! Love it and I will be back.

Awesome products. Very friendly and delicious foods and treats! I advise it to anyone

    Multitude of spices.

Very friendly and knowledgeable about spices, coffees, and nuts...along with sweets. Coffee is roasted by them and can me customized to your tastes. Spices are fresh and very pungent, great for any special recipes. Everything is very fresh and comes directly from growers. The smell alone when grinding the coffee bean gives a coffee lover, like me, a high. I have to say I'm a big fan of the Iranian pistachios, cubed Coconut and the middle eastern sweets. Truly a hidden gem of the city! Highly recommend a visit!

Fresh ground french roast espresso. $8.99 Can't wait to try. The aroma is great!

I've visited some coffee shops & this has by far has been the best. I visited on a quest for espresso. As a novice espresso brewer (even though I drink ALOT of espresso) I needed help. I walked in and was lost in the wall of coffee beans that hits you at the front door. As I gazed at the massive amount of fresh coffee beans a person who worked there interjected. He explained the difference in grounds, what espresso really was, and how to get a good cup of espresso. I walked out with a big bag of espresso, a new found knowledge of espresso, cool ranch flavored corn nuts (SO GOOD), and tips for my new Mr. Coffee machine. I must say that my espresso brewing anxiety was lowered after my visit to Hashems Nuts & Coffee! I went home & made a bomb double shot of espresso with just the right crema. Take that big chain coffee chains!

SPecifically, we came here to find asafoetida, and after figuring out that it's not called asafoetida in Arabic, we left happily with not one, but two different configurations of the stanky herb (which made all of the difference in our dinner!). You can find some special, more obscure things, like weird varieties of cocoa powder or coffee, plus honey, and even locally made Yemeni halva/khalta (to the uninitiated, it's sort of a distant cousin of nougat or Turkish delight, but better-- get the harissa one, it's the bomb). The staff are friendly and helpful. They also have a bunch of other random housewares and household items ranging from tea sets to perfumes, including an "inspired by" Baccarat Rouge that smelled actually believable for a tenth of the price of the real deal. (Check out the pics I've posted.) Their perfumes are high quality oud-types, that for some Americans might be considered too heavy, but are fabulous and long-lasting... mostly selling at $25 at the time of this review. Check out Khanjar perfume for men - the art in the packaging aloneis worth $25 alone! But don't kid yourself, this smells incredible for both males and females, IMO. Their jewelry, mainly silversmithing of rings, is high quality and unique. I found them a bit high in price for the silver content but many held beautiful polished stones (Aqiq, Agate,) of which I have no knowledge of their value. Overall, this smallish market houses a powerful punch of high quality merchandise in comparison to larger markets, and excellent customer service. I'll be back.

My whole total was a measly $11 for a dozen of falafel, a plate of rotten turnips pickles and parsley 2 mini containers of garlic and tahini and 2 huge containers of garlic and tahini that were both sour and old tasting, I kept my mouth shut and didn't call them to complain and figured they lost a long time customer bc why would I even go back when their packaged items are all dusty and expired and flies all over their produce, in the whole produce isle I didn't see one fruit or vegetable that was edible and everyone was trying to buy stuff but they were walking away after trying to pick through. Way better markets in the area. Skip this place if you care about what goes into your body, threw the turnips pickles garlic and tahini straight into the trash upon opening, ate 2 of 12 falafels out of hunger, then threw the rest away bc what would make me think it was ok to eat them after everything else was rotten, pathetic third world vibes in this market, defiantly has gone down hill, hope they shut down and use that big space for an actual edible market
