Went to Michigan for a wedding and was craving some sweets. Searched this place on yelp and saw great ratings . Definitely worth the visit and very wet designed. Definitely gets busy at the time I came and worth the wait. They have beautiful trees with lights and delicious iknafa. Highly recomend .

This place was amazing. The people here were very friendly and very helpful. I like that it was very organized as well. It was a nice size and looks like a fun place to stay and eat. The prices were great as well. We got four mini cakes and a plate of cookies. Those cookies are my favorites and they had a great variety here. My husband said it was one of the better tiramisus for a bakery. I definitely want to return to this location.

Dubai strawberry parfait! Yum!!! This is delicious! The richness of the hazelnut spread and crunchy texture of the pistachio kataifi is perfect. Honestly there so many different types of desserts it gets overwhelming when you have to make a decision. All so good.

I love coming to Shatila's! There's always a line but don't worry your number gets called up pretty fast, so just take the time to look over all the suites and figure out what you might want. Everything is delicious, but I have to give it to the cheese dessert, Knafeh. I grew up eating it and it's so nostalgic and not overly sweet.

Visited here on a Saturday night at 10pm last week and the place was CROWDED! Service is fast here even with so many people visiting. It's a Mediterranean bakery with lots of space to sit and eat. They have shakes, ice cream and coffee as well. When you enter you have to grab a token # and then place your order. Then a person helps you out with everything that you need from behind the counter. Then you can go to the cash counter and pay and pick up your order. Their fruit cakes are quite well know for birthday parties.

Visited here on a friend's recommendation, and also after seeing it on Padma Lakshmi's "Taste the Nation." WOW. For starters, the cafe is super clean and attractive with live palms and lots of light. The counter is divided between French and Middle Eastern pastries, both absolutely gorgeous. SO many choices, it was nearly impossible to make decisions. We wanted a taste of authentic Middle Eastern items - mostly variations of flaky phyllo dough, nuts and honey. The server's English was a bit limited, which made ordering a tiny bit challenging. I would have loved signage explaining each confection, but I certainly appreciate that I'm not the main audience and this place is really intended to serve the local Middle Eastern community. After my kiddo and I assembled a box of sweet and savory items (for only $13!!!! WHAT???), I grabbed a coffee and we simply sat and nibbled to our hearts' content. The baklava seemed to be a signature offering, but my favorite was a deep-fried doughy empanada-ish item that tasted like a honey-soaked donut filled with cheese. So amazing. My kiddo loved the savory sesame za-atar manakish flatbread. Highly recommend.

This is the packing of the sweets shown on the left in the other photo. These sweets were tossed around in the airport.

We were visiting Michigan and wanted to bring back some sweets for our friends. We got the sweets and packed them in our suitcase (which was of course thrown around in the airport) so we were dreading the worst when we opened the sweets' paper bag. But we were shocked to see that none of the sweets even shifted, let alone broke, during the trip. Check out the pictures of the sweets before and after unpacking! We also loved the lighting and decor, very well coordinated.

I love love love the Turkish coffee. The price is good and the taste was delicious. It woks so well with the sweets we bought. I have to say the knafee was a big disappointment. It looked good but lacked texture and flavor. The atayeff were amazing.. no pic on that.. sorry. I ate it before taking a picture of it. lol

Assortment of baklava all sugar- free

Sweet dreams are made of SHATILA! The best baklava around. For first timers, there are no lines. Make sure to take a ticket when you walk in and listen for your number to be called, or look towards the ceiling in the middle of the bakery shelves where there's a small screen displaying what number they're on. Don't be alarmed if the current number seems far away from the number on your ticket. It moves pretty fast, even on busy days. The system has been this was as long as I can remember, and seems like it really works for them. Find the person who calls your number and they will help you select and package up your treats. Today I found out they have an assortment of sugar-free baklava as well! The sugar substitute they use is lycasin (maltitol syrup). This is a nice alternative option for people who can't digest sugar well. There's also ice cream, both in cones and to take home in large cartons, and cakes, both full size and individual pieces. There's seating inside if you want to break into your goodies right away. A box of Shatila makes an excellent gift as well!

An absolute treat to visit and pick out a great dessert to purchase (or multiple!)…read more After having lunch nearby, we saw many people walking by with boxes from Dearborn Sweets so we decided to stop in after. We were greeted with a large display case of many different options of sweet treats, cakes, pie-like items, and many more things! My friend and I picked 6 things total and it was around $18 only! We were very surprised of how cheap but highly delicious these items were!

While in Dearborn this past weekend, I received a tip from the owner of a local restaurant to try…read more"the best middle eastern bakery in all of Dearborn". That brought me to Dearborn Sweets. I haven't tried any other bakeries in Dearborn, but I can tell you that my experience here was fantastic. Customer service and friendliness were beyond excellent; but be sure to pack your patience at peak times because this spot was slammed. You take a number when you walk in, and then wait, and wait, and wait for it to be your turn. This isn't for lack of staff, because there were at least a dozen people working behind the counter, it's just because they were packed with customers! The selections are overwhelming and since it was my first visit, I needed help. The young lady who helped me was very patient, told me about the differences in their specialized Arabic pastries, showed me her favorites, customer favorites, and descriptions for anything I asked about. I went with a small sampler tray of her favorite specialized pastries and their best sellers. Everything was delicious! Flavors, textures, uniqueness, complexity...all of it. My whole family raved about all the treats, so we ended up going back later in the weekend and purchasing a couple larger trays of our favorites (and some new selections) to take home and share. We all agreed that the Qatayef was easily our favorite; for anyone who doesn't know, it is a small pancake filled with custard, fresh chopped strawberries, chopped pistachios, and drizzled with chocolate...fresh, bright, and mouthwateringly delicious. The only negative I experienced was that when I visited around 10am on Sunday to load up for our trip home, their selections were very limited, and I was told I'd need to come back after 3pm to get some of the things I was looking for. So, I would recommend calling ahead to see if they have a full selection before you go, if you don't live nearby. Ultimately, if you haven't tried Dearborn Sweets, I'd highly recommend giving them a shot. They have tons of middle eastern specialties as well as traditional bakery favorites (such as cannoli, fruit tarts, filled donuts, cakes, etc.).
