His warm smile, positive attitude, and professionalism made a great meal even more memorable. Restaurants can serve excellent food, but great hospitality is what keeps people coming back. It took roughly 15 minutes before anyone took our order, and over 45 minutes after that for our food to arrive. We ordered simple breakfast/brunch items, nothing complex. Throughout the visit, no one checked on us, and even requesting the check took an unusually long time. I came specifically to support an Iraqi-owned business and enjoy Iraqi food, which made this experience especially disappointing. The space itself felt sticky and had a slight odor, which detracted from the otherwise well-designed interior. These issues are fixable with more attentive service, regular check-ins with guests, and better upkeep of the space (for example, more frequent wipe-downs and subtle scent control). I still tipped the staff 20%, but overall this experience was disappointing. A lot of effort has clearly gone into the decor and live music, and that same level of care should be extended to service and operations.
