Dinner with friends here this evening. YUM! the lentil soup was quite tasty. Friend had the kale salad with falafel which looked awesome. ( Love the serving bowls.). Another in our group had a platter which included two different kinds of hummus . I had the loaded fries - very good. The peppers, onion on the side and other veggies really made this delicious. Small mixup with the falafel so it came out a little later than the salad but the restaurant was very busy with takeout as well as the dining room. We also gad the fig and feta flatbread which was a nice balance of textures and flavors. And Sarah compted us some pita bread. Sarah, our server was attentive and charming. (We had several people bring us drinks as well as our food.) We made reservations and I would definitely recommend it since Dean's was hopping. We weee seated in the front at the round table with the blue velvet banquette;how fun. The Moroccan looking lamp over the table is cool Will have to come back because there were several things on the menu that I want to try. And dessert which I didn't try this evening. Between being full from the fries and the people waiting figured a return trip was the way to go. read more

Back again! This time it's "Date Night", on Valentine's Day To begin: the beet hibiscus presentation was absolutely beautiful. It's described as a Persian dip of yogurt blended with roasted vegetables and was accompanied by housemade focaccia. The red beets were a perfect match for Valentine's Day. What was very interesting to me was the flight of dates.... Six different ones! This tasting was paired with the most delicious lemon mint sorbet. Lamb shank was my main dish. It was slow braised with seasonal squash and dates. It was served with Lebanese semolina pearls, which created a perfectly savory dish. The dessert, Medjool dates stuffed with orange scented ricotta, topped with pistachios and rose petals. Mint tea was served to end the meal. This was a wonderfully laid back evening with the most delicious food, service and ambiance. read more

I've stopped in now for dinner and for coffee in the morning, and need to get back in again! My dinner was early. We had made reservations, which weren't needed as we arrived just before 5, and the restaurant didn't fill up until closer to 530/6(definitely recommend them for normal dinner hours). Parking is available at the street metered spots, or in the public lot just between them and the transit center. The menu prices were reasonable and everything was so fresh and delicious. Service was good and I only wish I had been hungrier to try more of the menu. When I came for coffee later that week, I ordered for a friend with allergies, and the barista was very accommodating with all my customizations. I grabbed a baklava to try with our espresso drinks that was by far one of the best I've had in town. The smaller baked goods were okay, but didn't seem like they were as fresh as they could've been. read more

Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food, delicious coffee- I had I think it was called the Sahan coffee. We got there earlier than our reservation time and they gave us a tahini brownie while we waited (also delicious). The little shop at the front is so cute. I love this place and love the Findlay shop, so I just wanted to offer some constructive criticism as they're newer. The lemon & labne flatbread was underwhelming. There's hardly any labne, no visible preserved lemon and not very lemony-tasting, and it isn't grilled at all. More just like warm pita with cucumber and tomato on top. The loaded fries are amazing and a huge serving, but they needed salt. Also, their description made it sound like shawarma/falafel was included on the fries, but we were charged $4 for the falafel. Not a bad value, just misleading. The grilled dates were delicious and so was the shakshuki. I'm excited to see this place grow and will definitely be back! read more

arrived at 1pm on a sunday, was told they were booked and couldnt sit our party of 4 as they already had a reservation. but shortly after a round table by the window opened up we were sat and ordered coffee, it came shortly after along with water and we had already picked out some baked goodies to have while we decided what to order. everything came out shortly after and was light and filling. super yummy and made with care. my favorite was the grape leaves but and the flatbread was good but definitely needed some protein. i added some chicken and it made it so so good. overall it was a pleasant lunch and warm environment with good music and vibes read more

One of my favorite Findlay Market vendors has taken the essence of their eclectic store and amplified it at this wonderful restaurant. The owner, Kate, pushed her Dad's store further into to-order items at the Findlay location when she took over, and she has amplified those ambitions in Northside. It's a beautifully renovated space, the mezze (both hot and cold) are as wonderful as they are at Findlay, and she has added some great entrees that aren't practical to offer there. Excited to support this new location, we went on a Wednesday night in early April. The entrance was stacked w ppl waiting. no one greeted us to take our name. We approached someone to place our name on the wait list, he scoffed and moved on to filled tables. We waited ten minutes for someone else to come to the register, sheepishly she looked at us and asked "has anyone taken your name" we answered, "No.". she turned around, began walking to the rear of the room and sang into the restaurant "that's not my problem"! I was done. I approached the first person we asked and the 'singer' and made it very clear; "When in customer service, especially in a new and vulnerable moment of the business, you don't disservice your customer base w no greeting , no service and exclaiming into the restaurant that you customers are not your problem." She crunched her face and said some weak, whiny response that it was not her. bullshit. We all watched and heard her. What a chaotic and disheveled shitshow that place is. I highly recommend going elsewhere for good service. read more

This is a very small restaurant with tables close together. We were seated right away, however, no one came to take our order after 9 minutes. I had to ask the host if someone could take our order. The girl working there didn't seem interested in waiting on anyone. Our waiter was friendly but he had no idea they sold beer. The service is slow and the food coming out takes awhile. We had the dates. 3 for $8. Good but not worth the price. The fried halloumi cheese was ok. 4 square pieces. The baba ganoush tasted fine but there wasn't enough pita bread. Overall it was just OK. Wow -- I truly can't say enough about how good this food is. It's not just good, it's several levels beyond that. Having spent time in Middle Eastern countries and fallen in love with the food there, I've struggled to find anything in the U.S. that wasn't a pale, Americanized version. This place is the real thing. The flavors, the preparation, the authenticity -- all wonderful. This is the first place that truly captures the real flavors. Three of us came for a late lunch. This was intentional as we wanted to avoid the lunch rush and we wanted to be able to talk without feeling we were occupying a table and preventing others from sitting down. One had Roasted beets blended with Lebanese yogurt cheese and Lebanese Lentil Soup. The others had Kale Salad - composed of kale with homemade carrot pickles, walnuts, and goat cheese.To this one added Falafel with Tahini sauce. All of the food was good. The day we were there, only the Mint Tea was not sugared. What was most helpful was that the three of us were catching up after a long time. No one prodded us to move or or to leave as soon as we had finished eating. (True, we did time our lunch so as not to cause problems to the proprietors if we could avoid it, but we really appreciated not being hurried along.) This was a pleasant lunch and warm environment. Phenomenal!!! Design of the space. Menu. Staff. All fabulous. Got there at 11:20ish. Plenty of open tables! By the time we left at about 12:30, no empty tables!!! Kate Zaidan has created a charming space with excellent food. read more

The chicken shawarma bowl, & falafel pita are so good! The Cincy style hummus is also incredible. Highly recommend making a grilled cheese out of it! read more
