This restaurant was a welcome change from the typical Greek restaurants I've visited in the past. The restaurant isn't really big so I wouldn't recomm for large groups. However there is seating for smaller parties to enjoy dine in. The service was quick and easy. Staff was nice and appreciative of our business. The serving size was huge. My wife and I do not have very large appetites so we share most restaurant meals. It hasn't always been this way. We enjoy Greek and Mediterranean food. I had never been to this restaurant before so rather than placing a pick-up order, I waited to see the restaurant and ask for advice. I decided to order a Gyro Platter and the sides I chose were French Fries and a Greek Salad. The amount of food was amazing and it tasted wonderful, especially the Gyro meat. I now have a new "go-to" restaurant for my Mediterranean cravings. Since I do all the cooking in our house, finding a good restaurant near by really helps when I am tired of cooking. Love coming here for lunch, we drive from milford. The price is very good for what you get. The gyro is outstanding along with the hummus. The staff is always polite and helpful. The food is authentic and delicious at this little family owned and operated Mediterranean restaurant. We stopped by for lunch. They serve traditional, freshly prepared favorites such as domathes and falafels. Our clerk was super friendly and made recommendations. After you order, you wait a bit as they prepare orders. I just had a Greek salad which was huge with tons of veggies and feta cheese. The cheese was mild. It was a great salad. My husband had the regular gyro wrap which was huge, packed with meat and a fabulous taziki sauce. He gave it his top gyro rating. They have about a dozen tables inside and one put on the patio. There is a parrot that sits on the patio and entertains you while you eat. Fabulous little place. I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

Stopped by here today looking for a Gyro. The place definitely has Gyros. My daughter got the regular Gyro and I got the large Gyro. They had plenty of meat and the pita was nice and warm. Unfortunately, they were light on sauce, tomato and fixings. The fries were seasoned well, but needed to be cooked a little longer. Not the friendliest place. They were busy getting a catering order out. 6 people were working and the young man who took our order barely said hello. While I have not been there in a while I like Durum Grill gyros better. Milya Cafe was a quick lunch stop after shopping at Costco. We were recommended here by friends and the food did not disappoint. Interior is simple but functional, plenty of seating available. You order at the front, and can watch them make your food behind the counter on the left. The cashier was friendly and took our order. We opted for the Chicken Platter and Kafta Platter with fresh pita on the side. The food came out steaming hot and LOADED onto the paper plates they were served on. They definitely don't skimp out on portions here. The meat on both dishes were moist and juicy. The hummus paired well with the meal since it cut down the carb heavy meal. Fries were crispy and fresh. What can I say, we devoured everything and left with a full stomach. Checks all the boxes for a great experience! Even better if you're hungry. My favorite Mediterranean restaurant. The food is so good, and I love the atmosphere, which is very casual, with the friendly owners and their family making the food. The chicken shawarma platter is heaped high with delicious chicken; don't skip the garlic topping (which is made, I think, with labneh). It's mid food not middle eastern. As for as middle eastern food goes this is run of the mill. When you pick a side please get something other than rice as the seasoning is bland and is drizzled in oil. The service is also something to be lacking as they don't bring your food out to your table despite leaving tip at the kiosk after you order. Our son took us here for lunch recently because he knew that we liked Mediterranean food. We waited at a table right next to the windows facing a outdoor seating area in front of the parking lot. It kept us entertained as I noticed there was a parrot (not in a cage) sitting on the railing next to the tables. He was very comfortable being around humans and many of them went to see him and offer him a French fry which he enjoyed. Apparently, he belongs to the owners. Wow. This is another one of those unassuming places in a little strip mall that is just sensational. I heard great things and was finally able to stop by midday recently. There is a small amount of parking out front, but I can imagine at lunch hour it gets a bit crazy. There are some tables outside and inside there are several decently spaced tables. Nothing fancy, but the food speaks for itself. I ordered at the counter. I am not sure whether the lady didn't understand me, or I did not understand her (as she had a thick accent), but I thought I was ordering a Gyro sandwich platter. Instead I got fries, greek salad, and a huge generous portion of gyro meat atop it all. Thats ok, give me allll the Gyro meat goodness. I also ordered grape leaves and baklava. Now I am half Greek, so I can be a bit picky with my Mediterranean food, but this really checked almost all the boxes. The salad was fresh, and I loved the dressing. The only downside was it had regular olives on it instead of Greek. Minor detail. The fries were hot, crispy, and had a great seasoning on them. The Gyro meat was tender and perfect. I really liked their take on Tzatziki sauce which was green. It came in 1 cup on the side, so I will DEFINITELY order extra sauce next time. The grape leaves and baklava were just perfect. I tried Milya Café for the first time this weekend & am so glad I did! The restaurant itself is very low-key but nicely & cleanly kept. I believe there is both indoor & outdoor dining, but my order was carry-out. There was a beautiful green parrot perched outside along the metal gate. The gentleman who took my order was very polite & patient & willing to explain any questions I had with the menu. I ordered a gyro wrap & French fries. The gyro is the best I've ever had. It had a pita wrap & the lamb was so tender & flavorful. The tzatziki sauce was delicious. There was also lettuce & tomato, which I am usually not a big fan of, but it had just the right amount for me & I didn't find myself picking a bunch off. The French fries were also pretty good, but there are so many other things that sound good that I would be open to try another side as well - which I'm sure I will do on my next visit. read more

Do you like Mediterranean food? When I drop five stars and start the review with "it reminds me of how my grandma once made it..." you can pretty much quit reading and drive here. I'm only writing more because the nice folks at YELP asked me to! They serve generous portions of old-time, home cooked recipes at (what I feel are) fair prices. The ambiance is terrible, the people aren't the friendliest and the restrooms were nasty. I don't care. It's quiet and one of the best meals I've had in this town. I've ordered half the menu and it's all good. Indecisive? Try the Chicken Shawarma, Greek Salad or Kibbeh. They slice off of a doner kebab (vertical rotisserie) so you want to at least sample the gyro meat. A platter would be best. I loved their Kafta and the stuffed grape leafs were killer! Keeping your priorities straight and spending your money on hearty, flavourful food is job one. Forget the non-sense and hop in the car. If you must, close your eyes and order carry-out.
