Stopped on a trip for a quick Mediterranean lunch. Restaurant is small, clean, cheerful. Located at one end of a small strip mall, a very quick turn off the interstate exit. Food: Multiple very fresh salads; Big pitas with several choices for fillings. We liked the trio combo with 3 types of meat, rice, and salad in the entree. Good variety of appetizers, entrees, and vegetarian dishes, nice choices of Lebanese & Mediterranean dishes, including lamb. House dressing is very tasty. Baklava and multiple delicious desserts available. Service : Staff are pleasant and efficient. Carter, our server was very attentive and kept beverage glasses filled. Aladdin's...it you're looking for true authentic Mediterranean/Lebanese food, look elsewhere. If you're wanting something healthier and quick, you are possibly in the right place. The good: * Pomegranate green tea was amazingly refreshing! As good as anything at Starbucks. I would stop in just for this * Quick, on the quieter side service, for a Saturday lunch/brunch time, we could hear the music and each other talk. Nice! The not so good: * Hummus consistency was whipped, as if almost a chickpea mousse. My husband had trouble finishing the Beef hummus plate because of this. * chicken quality seemed on the low side, but I was thankfully it wasn't dry, as that happens frequently with this cuisine. The WTF: * Though our server was fantastic and chill, he sorta was deceptive. When the pita plate was dropped off, I explained how it'd go to waste based on both of our dietary restrictions, and he offered instead a veggie plate. This interaction seemed as if it was a replacement for the pita, since we can't eat it. Oh no, he charged us over $6 for the veggies! Ask questions, and don't assume. There was a short wait just before noon on a Saturday, an excellent sign this is a great restaurant. The menu is extensive without being overwhelming. Mediterranean fare with really well-seasoned vegetables and meats served as shish kebab, over rice, as a salad, or over hummus. I chose Sam's favorite bowl - a bargain at $10 with delicious crispy cauliflower and kafta kebabs served over rice with a lovely garlic sauce. I also added a side salad for $6 and it was delightful and fresh, diced tomato and crispy cucumber over greens with feta cheese and onion - a perfect starter. My partner chose a grilled chicken medley served with vegetables over hummus. The hummus was bright with a delicate lemon flavor and delicious with warm pita or vegetables. Their ice tea is fabulous - unsweetened (upon request) and very refreshing. I enjoyed a mango green tea. The portions are generous - easily shareable even for larger appetites. I was sad to have to leave our leftovers behind. We were not heading home. Next time I'll have a cooler for certain. Tips: 1) arrive hungry and plan on 2 courses, minimum. 2) arrive early, allow for a wait. This is a small restaurant - about 20 tables, total and word is out - they get busy. 3) ask questions if you want a recommendation or are unsure of an ingredient - the entire staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Hummus, tabouli, baba ghanouj, falafel and dawali (stuffed grape leaves). All delicious but the baba ghanouj stood out. So good! Next I had the Greek Pitza - pita covered with feta, tomatoes, green peppers, toasted onions and a bit of basil. A bit of a challenge to eat but worth all the effort! Yum! Ehh. It's ok but it's not somewhere that I will rush back to or go out of my way to visit again. The food was under seasoned and bland - both mine and my husband's dishes. I don't see what is award winning about the hummus, as it was bland. The stuffed grape leaves were ok but the pita bread was dry and crumbly. This was a delicious surprise! We were visiting a nearby library and ended with a visit to this restaurant for a very late lunch. It was wonderful. The atmosphere is very casual but the service was quick and friendly. Everything we had was wonderful. We each had a tuna wrap which was ample enough for two meals and the roasted cauliflower was an unexpected treat recommended by the server. The garlic aioli sauce was wonderful and I'm still planning to try to make some on my own. We would all definitely come here again and I wish it was available in my hometown. read more

I was craving a good salad so stopped here and I was very satisfied with my experience. I ordered the fattoush salad and added grilled chicken (requested dark meat). The salad was fresh, loved the dressing, and the chicken was cooked perfectly! For dessert I had a slice of the gluten free chocolate torte and it was the perfect way to end my meal. Loved it. Stopped in for dinner at 7:45pm on a Saturday. I had not eaten here in a few years but remembered it being pretty good. Things have changed. It took about 5-10 minutes to get seated. Server got drinks and orders relatively quickly. We ordered a hummus appetizer. The hummus was very bland. I'm a white Ohioan but I lived in the Middle East for 4 years as an adult. I know what middle eastern food is supposed to taste like. The "pita" was very weird. Thin and card boardy. Restaurants can get authentic middle eastern pita in Cincinnati from Skally's Old World bakery. Look them up. We didn't finish our hummus (a first) and decided to take it home and doctor it with spices. Our server brought out our salads and main course together. WTF? It was 8:07pm, they close at 9pm. We felt they wanted us to hurry, eat & leave. My husband ordered the Mediterranean lamb plate. The meat was tough but the basmati rice was good. I ordered Jasmine's favorite shish kebab. My meat was fine but the rice was gross. It tasted like beef Rice-a-Roni. We paid $81 for fairly bad food and adequate service and left at about 8:40pm. Very large portion sizes, a very extensive menu, all with fresh and flavorful ingredients and a full array of dessert and alcohol options. I don't even like those last two things, but you're telling me there's one place that could please everybody? I'm there. I tried them for lunch today and loved it. I got the chili/lentil soup combination. Both halves of the bowl were good, but I think I'll go with the chili next time as it was a knockout. I got the grilled ahi tuna rolled wrap which was a meal in itself and reasonably priced. Arriving here was purely happenstance. We had left the W&S Tennis Tournament and wanted to get something to eat before heading home. A quick look on Yelp showed that this place had some of the best reviews and we were close by. So it was a natural fit. Plus, my wife had seen some other posts online to recommend this restaurant. Service was good on a Sunday afternoon. Taboulli, and Spicy Cauliflower to start. I need to copycat recipes. Both excellent and light. Then Tuna Shawarma wrap for me and Tuna salad for my husband. Tuna was a little overcooked for our taste. Then we finished with the Lemon Sunburst cake, and OMG was it good. If we hadn't had other places to go, we would have definitely gotten a piece to take home. Light in lemon flavor but moist and not overly sweet. Prices are not too bad. The menu is rather extensive but each item I've tried has been prepared very well. Their hummus plate with an added order of fresh veggies is among my favorites. Im a sucker for Mediterranean food so that's a big help but this place was bomb. We ordered plenty -- from hummus, babaganoush and a falafel plate to start. And we could never get enough pita to wipe all the goodness up. For the main meal I had the beef shawarma rolled pita with everything. Pressed after rolled the pita is thin so it doesn't fill you up before you get to the end of the roll. Wish it was wrapped a little more like a burrito since you had to worry about the opposite end you're eating out of starting to spill. Super delicious all around especially with the pickled radishes. No space left after everything but definitely want to try the baklava the next time I visit. Excellent service, attentive and on top of drink refills. Everything tasted authentic and fresh with no hiding of spices or flavors, (like some other places might do to makeup for the average preference of mild in others palates.) Wow. Got the Genie's Combo Plate door dashed to my hotel, and blew my expectations away. The crispy cauliflower dipped in the garlic sauce was the star of the show.
