Falafel Burger
Erin F.

I had heard great things about five stars Mediterranean from a friend, so I was excited to try it! Right off the bed I noticed they have several vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy free options and they have all the staples of a Mediterranean menu. It was hard to decide what to get. I chose the falafel burger, and we got the large hummus to share . The falafel sandwich had a good amount of falafel, which was really yummy, but I was underwhelmed by the other toppings.... The description made it sound like it had a lot of toppings, but I really only noticed lettuce and some pickles. It also could have used some more dressing, but I added some hummus, which made it better. It was on the smaller side so I would recommend getting an app if you are ordering one of their sandwiches for dinner-- however, the platter that my friend ordered was a good size and could be split between two people! My husband ordered the chicken Shawarma sandwich and commented it was good but also a bit dry. The hummus was good, but not the best we've tried. It lacks some flavor and the pita was on the drier, thinner side. It did have beautiful presentation with paprika and olive oil! Overall, this seems like a great family-oriented place with good service. It wasn't my favorite Mediterranean food in Cincinnati, but I would try more things on the menu.

Nothing like a little family-run eatery on the way back to the airport. Service was super friendly. I ordered the beef shawarma, came with rice and salad, tasted amazing. Shared tabbouleh and hummus with the table. They had a Turkish coffee on the menu, but I didn't want to risk being wired on my flight back home. There's a small parking lot behind the building.

The food was amazing, the service was even better very nice people tried his best to get the food on time

I had my birthday dinner there and I was so happy I did! The owner was sooooo nice and accommodating! He went above and beyond! He played a birthday video and gave us some free dessert. The food was fantastic! I highly recommend 5 Star Mediterranean Restaurant!!!

Authentic Mediterranean food with massive portions! The hummus had pomegranate seeds on it which was a nice touch. The staff was also very welcoming and attentive.

Chicken Shawarma

The food was so good, the service was amazing, and the music was a 10/10. Five stars is an understatement, needs 10. Broke my scale. so so so good AND we got free drinks on the house and a mocktail for my friend who doesn't drink coffee. anyways, it was awesome

Five Stars Mediterranean Restaurant was our plan B for the day, but it will likely be a "plan A" in the future. The place was not crowded, thankfully, because the gentleman (owner?) running the place was on his own on this particular day. He let the customers know there was a lot of self-service available (drinks, plates, silverware, etc.) and that he just needed a few minutes to get things ready for service. Everyone was very understanding. We ordered a large Baba Ghannouj was indeed massive, but we managed to eat every last bite. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, so I recommended a regular size for a table for two. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma. Food was presented in takeaway boxes, which was unusual, but ended up being very convenient. I was so full of Baba Gjannouj I barely touched the shawarma. That said, Chicken Shawarma was fantastic! Super flavorful, even leftover. YUM! We also got an order of fries which had a nice spice (not spicy) on them. They were fresh and delicious. We took a while to eat. By the time we were finished and paid the bill, we were the only customers in the place. The owner came to our table with an order submitted online (or on the phone) by a person that was not able to pick it up. He said he appreciated our patience and insisted we take the meal on the house. What a generous gesture! The place was super cute and clean and there is parking pretty much right next door. You should check it out. I am pretty sure we'll be back.

If this appeals to you, try this place. Their service makes you quickly feel right at home, and that continues throughout the meal. There were five of us, so we ordered several dishes to share. The hummus was fresh, the falafel was crispy on the outside and tasty, the lamb was tender, and the lahmacun ('Turkish pizza' for those that haven't tried this) was outstanding. The Lahmacun reminded me of my visit to a Turkish restaurant in Kazakhstan many years ago -- it was that good. My adult kids also had the salmon and a chicken sauté and loved both... I almost lost a finger getting a nibble. The drinks and desserts were also spot on. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and has seating to accommodate larger groups, so bring your friends and family and share. One recommendation for the Cafe -- we wish the lighting were a bit dimmer. Seemed a little bright in the main dining area. Other than that, thanks for a great night.

The salmon wasn't as "well done" as I would have preferred but still very good. The cooked veggies were seasoned very well too. It's a great date night spot or for a girls night. After a Great Clips haircut, on the recommendation of the stylist, I tried it out, was very impressed. Been there many times since, never been disappointed. I've since moved to Liberty Twp. but the Phoenician still beckons. Had dinner last night there with my wife. It was a wonderful experience. I felt it was high time I wrote them up. We started with an excellent double-hop IPA and a great Lebanese red wine, I think it was called Kefraya. Gonna seek it out locally, maybe at Jungle Jim's. As always, the pita bread is fresh, oven-hot and delectable. The shankleen appetizer is outstanding, a lovely fusion of greens, lentils, feta cheese, olive oil and spices. Wife ordered schwirma - slow-grilled combo of sliced chicken alongside sliced beef and lamb. The waiter obligingly substituted a side of couscous for rice, no extra charge. I had a braised shank of lamb in a rich tomato sauce. Both entrees were delicious. As always, the portions were very generous, so we took food home along with complimentary fresh pita bread. Besides the great food, the service is superb. The owner makes a point of stopping at each table to ensure that the diners are happy. We look forward to our next visit.

Finally she made reservations for Saturday evening (it is recommended because they get super busy). We got there and was greeted by the owner. BTW, was very down to earth. So their menu looked good (Lebanese food). There is so much to choose from and hard to decide. I especially loved their drink menu, especially wines. We ended up ordering: Appetizers: Baba ghannouge M'hammara Taverna falafel Dinner: Shawarma chicken Kebab mixed grill Drinks: Chateau kefraya, Les Bretches Almaza Pilsner My favorite from the appetizers is the eggplant and falafel! Super fresh and the bread that came with it was so good. Even the dipping sauce was amazing. My Shawarma chicken was super delish. You have to put the garlic butter on the rice! It gives it great flavor. My Mr enjoyed his meal as well. We definitely had to get a to go box because there was so much food. But we will look forward the next day to eat it. Overall, the service was great and I loved the experience. We can see ourselves coming back for more! I can see why my best friend loves it here! Highly recommend you try it.

Only thing is I wish they could make it gluten free. I got the Mira bowl in a kid size portion and had boiled eggs as an add on. Perfect portion! Being visitor from VA Beach, I asked what's the recommended dish, the server suggested omelette. But I wasn't in the mood for omelette so I saw shakshuka. I tried their Green Goddess version that has spinach (instead of tomato sauce) and feta. The food is a solid 3. I also ordered the Dubai Chocolate latte. It was a 3 as you taste more the milk than the chocolate syrup. I also got their chocolate chip banana bread.

The portions are generous (we brought some home): husband had the cabbage rolls, I had the salad with beets, cranberries, and walnuts with lamb kebab. There is a nice selection of white and red wine (no IPA beer yet), and although we had never tried Turkish wine we decided to try the red suggested by the owner who let me taste a sample first. It was very good - a bit like a Pinot noir. For dessert we tried the pistachio baklava, which was excellent. The ambience is nice, and the Turkish glass mosaic chandeliers are gorgeous. A large screen TV shows scenes of Türkiye (no audio, just beautiful pictures). The restaurant is dressier on the inside than you might suspect from the strip mall parking lot. The owner, Sam, introduced himself and explained that this is a family business with special care placed on the food preparation. The service was warm and friendly, we were well taken care of. In addition to lamb, the menu includes chicken, salmon and vegetarian options, appetizers, soups and salads. A basket of warm bread and a dipping sauce were served ahead of our meal. Yum.
