Lucky me, I needed more body work done on my Honda Fit. So OF COURSE I went back to Dean Auto! This was a weird situation, because a local bike shop had incorrectly installed a bike carrier on my car, and as a result my rear hatch was dented in two spots. If it was my car, I probably would have just ignored it, but it's a lease and I didn't want to get dinged thousands of dollars when the lease is up. I also didn't really want to get my insurance involved, or screw the bike shop over with an overpriced repair (because I really LIKE that shop and the people who run it... they just made a mistake, which they were willing to pay for). Dino the wizard took a look and quoted $600, which was frankly a bargain given that they had to disassemble the whole back of the car to do the work. Then he gave me a free loaner car. As others have noted (with some snowflakes giving terrible reviews as a result), the repair took a bit of time... about three weeks. Because this is a very busy shop. But what did I care? What should anyone care when they have a free loaner car? Seriously, hike up your big boy pants and deal with it. Other body shops will hook you up with a rental, which you will pay for. At Dean Auto... no charge, no muss, no fuss. When I got my car back, Dino told me they actually had to re-paint and color match the whole rear door, which meant also re-painting the rear side panels... all so that the the job would meet Dino's very high standards. And of course, they detailed the whole car inside and out. And buffed out some little scratches elsewhere on the car that had nothing to do with the repair I had requested. At the end of the process, I gave Dino the $600 check from the bike shop, and he handed me the keys to what was essentially a brand new car. I am mystified by the one-star reviews of this business. Everyone on the staff is polite (and FUNNY, once you figure out the Dean Auto sense of humor, which is a thing). You get your car returned to as-new condition, your insurance deductible magically disappears, and you get a clean, well-maintained car to drive while the repair is being done for free. Everything is drama-free... except for maybe the situation in their parking lot, which is JAMMED. You know how they say you should avoid a restaurant with an empty parking lot? Yeah, that. Dino's lot is jammed, because he does A LOT of business, and for very good reasons. I can't say I look forward to returning to Dean Auto, because that would mean that my car is effed up again! But if it happens, I would not hesitate for a second to drive (or get towed) straight to Dean Auto. I'm trying to think of another business of any kind where I got such excellent service, such courteous treatment, and such quality work. I got nothing. These guys are the best, period. read more

After my experience with Dino at Dean Auto Collision Center, I honestly can't see taking my car anywhere else for as long as I live in this city. I've been to a lot of different auto repair places in my life. I drove all the way here from Southern California and that was definitely not my only long distance road trip. Dean Auto Collision Center dealt directly with my Insurance Provider so I didn't have to go back and forth and worry about money or try and fight my way to a repair I was supposed to qualify for. I acknowledged to him initially that my knowledge of the process was deficient, and he responded with not only honest service, but with the best quote that I was given by far from the 5 autobody shops I called. When i mentioned I was strapped for cash at the time, he gave me an even better price that I'm confident was less than HALF of what I would have had to pay at the closest competitor's... He works with an incredibly helpful staff who will help walk you through your insurance's plans, even calling them and coordinating everything on the phone on your behalf...if you plan on going through your insurance company. He provided a free rental car as I eagerly awaited for the results on my Black Audi...and it was done in just as much time as he promised a few days later. I couldn't have been more pleased as I received the car in essentially brand new appearance. He not only took care of the two large tasks I had requested, but him and his guys went around my car and cleaned up additional damage(scratches, scrapes, bumps/bruises) without it being included in the asking. All of that, and quite possibly the best part awaited me upon entry into my car. All the years of snow/mud damage to my mats, doors, all the wear and tear on my leather disappeared (steering wheel and headrest/seat were spotless and freshly moisturized) . My car literally looked and smelled like the beautiful car I purchased almost 9 years ago. I had a very rejuvenated enjoyment of driving her again. Everyone I dealt with was super friendly and my car looks brand new after getting in a minor fender bender. They gave me a free loaner car and dealt with all the paperwork and fixed things that had nothing to do with the accident (eg: car was hit in the front, they replaced the front _and_ back bumpers- ?!) The reason I am docking stars here is because I was told it would be done in 3 weeks (which felt long to me already) but it took 6 weeks. I kept calling and they kept pushing out the time. I was starting to feel jerked around. And when I finally got the car back the seats were soaking wet from the interior having just been detailed. On the other hand, the car was immaculate inside and out (I have never seen it so sparkly) and I didn't pay a dime. So I guess my advice to you is if your car's been hit and you aren't in a hurry to have it back any time soon and you don't mind driving a Corolla for 6 weeks, don't hesitate to call these guys and bring a towel to sit on when you pick up your car. Also, had I known my baby would be gone for so long I'd have insisted on the Fiat loaner. read more

The service itself was excellent. Zero issues there. As others have said, it was a super-easy experience from start to finish, they eat your collision deductible, and they even give you a complimentary loaner vehicle, which was a massive help. The car came out looking brand new. They do great work based on my experience, which is why the rest of this review is unfortunate. After I picked up the car, I discovered I was missing some property that had been in my trunk -- an air compressor and a small bag of hand tools. I called the owner, who advised he'd check in with (I believe it was) the body shop manager and call me back. I never received a call back, so I tried again a few days later. The owner had forgotten to check with the shop manager, and told me he'd do so, and call me back. Again, I never received a call back, so I showed up in person on my lunch break about a week or so later. The owner didn't seem to remember my calls and told me to wait while the shop manager went and checked. I waited for about 20 minutes for the shop manager to return, at which point I had to leave because my lunch break was over. This was about two weeks ago, and I never received a call back regarding this matter. They absolutely lost a customer. read more

This place is honestly a life-saver, and Dino is great to work with! I got into an accident and needed my front bumper re-installed and my side view mirror replaced. Dino had my bumper put back on (no charge!) and even said I could get a replacement mirror myself and they would have it put on for no charge! I have a lot more body work that needs to be done from the accident, scratches/dings/etc, and will definitely get the work done here. It makes a huge difference dealing with a place that feels honest. I just got back from an extended work assignment in the south to discover that I've missed a court hearing pertaining to the ticket, which I was told was all set. I have to agree with the other 5 star reviews. My car door was dented after it was hit by a neighbor while parked. After the insurance appraised the damages I brought it here mostly due to the reviews. I had zero experience with body shops and the industry so I just thought eh... why not. I met Dino, and described what happened to my car and gave him the insurance appraisal. I also figured that since I was at a body shop, I would ask whether or not it was possible to fix a bunch of other things on my car from unrelated incidents. I made it clear that these other things I wanted to fix weren't related to the incident, and that I would be willing to pay to get them fixed. Dino graciously told me not to worry and that they would take care of all of it. I was helped with getting a rental vehicle (in the same building) and told to expect the car to be done in "a few weeks". Minimal effort on my part. I received a call from Dino saying my car was ready for pickup (forgot the exact time frame but it must've been 2 weeks plus or minus one or two days). Went to check my car and was pleasantly surprised to find that the car door and the rest of the things had all been fixed, paint and all. It was quite simply better than I had expected - no complaints from me. Went in to sign off, returned the rental and was good to go! TL;DR, I went in, described what happened, presented the insurance appraisal/check, got a rental, came back two weeks later, and drove away with a fixed car and total cost to me at zero dollars and zero stress. To be fair, perhaps I was lucky and the insurance appraisal was well beyond what it would cost to fix the dent in the first place so an argument could be made that I got suckered. However it definitely did not feel like that and like I said, it was my first time at a body shop and the experience was very smooth and rather effortless on my end. Dean Auto deserves a thousand stars!!! When backing out of my narrow driveway, My passenger side mirror hit a Fios internet box. My passenger side view mirror glass had shattered. The mirror would still move when I pressed the power button from the inside. All the mechanics nearby charged anywhere from $75-220!!! They said that they would have to replace the whole housing because replacing only the mirror is not possible and could risk damaging the internal motor components. Dino said if I brought in the glass mirror insert, he'd place it in for FREE. To be honest, I was hesitant at first but I'm a student so I took Dino's generous offer. He did an amazing job!!! I could not be happier. The part cost me only $35. I'll definitely return here for any other car issues. read more

I had an okay experience. The good things first: They fixed almost everything we had discussed, they covered the rental when my insurance company no longer would, Dino was very nice and professional And the bad: My pickup date got pushed back several times despite me having called to ensure that it would be ready. My insurance did not like working with them, made the process more stressful. Especially since the shop did not communicate issues to me unless I called and spoke to someone. They detailed the interior of my car, but failed to secure several trim pieces that are now out of place, and I will have to secure myself. (Coin tray insert had been removed some securing fasteners broken and it was never reattached just left sitting in the slot, did work on my shifter and when they reattached the cover clearly left black plastic trim stuck in the way of the shifters path) I was assured everything was fixed, but upon leaving the lot my vehicle was braking poorly (an issue we had discussed) I was having to hit the floor with the peddle, and the car was jumping when I did so. My car left the lot braking worse than when I had dropped it off. Tow truck driver that picked it up was floored that they let me leave the lot with such a safety hazard. (It is now at another mechanic having the brakes looked at again) Overall my experience was just okay. Body work was fantastic, and they fixed some additional things at no charge, but I was underwhelmed by mechanical promises madw and disappointed that interior things were left ajar. read more
